Stop using the word "marijuana"..it's called Cannabis

And nobody get me wrong, I am fully onboard with legalization.I truely believe everyone in the world stopping the slang marijuana won't get us any closer to that.

Well it`s up to post 142 & has anybody answered the question yet & do we really give a flying fig what it`s called ?

I was gonna drop out of this thread due to the hypocracy of some of the supporters of the OP,
but some of these people need to listen to what is actually coming out of their own mouths.

Let's see now, because I choose to continue using the word Marijuana, I've been called stupid, negative, selfish, racist and ignorant.
I also been told that I "must swim in the shallow end of the pool".

CactusFlower states that he or she defends my right to free speech and had friends who gave a lot for me to have that right..

Myself, and the people here who support my side of this argument are not the one's trying to tell anyone what they should or should not call the plant we all love...
It seems to me that it is the OP, and his supporters who are trying to infringe on my right to call it what I want...

Cool, raised around Texas border, "mota" was the word and my old friends sometimes use it today, I don't know, it may be racist somewhere but I enjoy it when I here it today

seeded bud

...I'm saying that a lot of people would argue that the effects and flavor from seeded bud brought to full maturity are different and better in some ways than seedless bud. I'm not saying that you should smoke the seeds. Do some research.

I've smoked some great seeded bud, anybody else, instant research, and you can call it what you want, grow on

brilliant solution

I thought that's why we have names for strains. Wtf says marijuana

I think this is a brilliant idea, be specific and call things by their more individual names, when possible, I like hearing a little history (for what its worth) about weed I smoke if I don't grow it myself

Cactus, sorry nobody gave us the right of free speech, it's endowed by our creator. Veterans just defend those rights. At least that's how the US Army explained it to us in 1969.
But more to the point of the thread, lets call cannabis reefer. That way I won't have to change what I call it.

Wow...some folks on both sides of the argument putting WAY to much stock in a FUCKING CONVERSATION...
You know why "herbal enthusiasts" suffer so many negative stereotypes?
Cuz we are just as stupid and immature and ridiculous and petty and self absorbed as the rest of america!
(Yes I realize america isn't the only place w smokers...I just find it less time consuming to only insult my own culture on internet boards)....(though as an american I'm fine w killing other cultures)

So, you're upset about the conversation, but you're O.K. with killing other cultures?

English is the kind of language where you have a word that means 3-4 things.

Where as some other languages, like French, you have 3-4 words that mean one thing.

English is much easier to learn then French from what I understand.

English is far more difficult to master. Most languages have multiple words that mean the same thing, and also words with multiple meanings. English is more difficult simply because it has way more words, even though most of us don't use most of them. English has over a million words, not including scientific/technical terms. If you add those, it's another million. The romance languages,ie., French, Spanish, Italian Portuguese, have about a quarter of a million words.
Crack open an unabridged English dictionary, and you won't recognize most of the words.
There is one word in English that has over 100 meanings.Imagine how difficult that is for someone trying to learn/understand the language.
By the way, it's a 3 letter word.
Any guesses?

English easy. Know whey man.

Just to use this forum as an example, people still don't know the difference between "to", "too", and "two".
Not to mention "there" & "their" and "they're".
"There" are others. I'm making a list.....
I thought everyone had spell check except str8edge.....

i think talking about stuff like this is perfect for a Marijuana forum.

Or is that a Cannabis forum?

Better than talking about world problems that we can do nothing about but talk.

I know a dispensary owner that hates the word 'weed'. I like calling it weed. Or pot.

I tried searching youtube for a video of the speeches by Anslinger to see if I could find how and when he supposedly coined the term 'marijuana' as a derogatory. could not find much, anyone else has another way to try to find it? I'm time-limited for this sort of research.

peace!
