Stop using the word "marijuana"..it's called Cannabis

I cant stand the word sinsemilla (Spanish for ''without seed'', for different reasons.

firstly its dated because weed is completely undesirable with seeds anyway. no one has a seeded option when you go to buy bud. so hence the word is un needed. its kinda like buying a cheese burger and asking them to add cheese. fucking annoying.
it goes without saying that it is seedless nowadays.

secondly howard marks aka ''mr nice guy'' says it all the time. I cant fucking stand him and his welsh accent (sorry to any welsh folk here), the fact he says it in welsh annoys me 10x more.

no offense, but that is a bit ignorant

lots of people would argue the merits of seeded bud even in terms of enjoying it solely to smoke and not for the progeny...many of them post here

Here in Israel you can easily understand the speaker's attitude to weed...
If one says cannabis - he's either a scientist or a news reporter.
If one says marijuana - he's a policeman or has a negative attitude towards the plant (like my mother). I hate that word and use it only to shock conservative pricks, as in "I smoke marijuana everyday, sir".
The word "grass" (the English word) is used by most people, mostly in a neutral-negative attitude.
It's us stoners who have some slang words for it - Ganja, weed (the English word) or Hebrew words meaning herb, green and such. Another slang word for a small bud is "Bats"
which is derived from the English word "buds", the plural form is "Batsim"..
I envy you English speakers for having so much synonyms to call our beloved plant.

I would bet money that some TV series has brought "Kush" into their TV world.

I agree, the term "Marijuana" is often used when people trash-talk the life-giving Medicine.

But, if I was dealing with a cooperative cab driver in Mexico - I think you got to use the term, "Marijuana".

You say 'Cannabis', they might think you're trying to rob them or something.


In terms of linguistic history, I thought Marijuana/Marihuana is a Spanish/Mexican word that the US gov. used when they started their war on Cannabis in the 1930's.

I wonder what word Henry Ford used ?

I think George Washington called it hemp - even when smoking it.

pretty sure the terminology is like follows. Cannabis is the plant name, Marihuana is the drug cultivar, and hemp is for textiles. both are cannabis, and all three terms are kind of necessary.

You will never get rid of that word its written in to the laws. Just use it it will forver be known by that name. And mexican weed still has seeds. I know many would disagree but its like any other name it has its just a name. We mostly call it mota or griffa in mexico and bud here in usa. Yesca is one thats not used much.. i like that one.... remember cheech and chong's up in smoke? The weed van has that word as a liscence plate! That weed bumper was cool but all the bugs on it would make it unsmokable.

not offended. I cant see how its ignorant at all. ive yet to meet one person on the forums who likes/prefers smoking seeded bud. are you saying you smoke the seeds?

obviously if your breeding its another story but it kinda goes without saying. not really sure where you are coming from.
