Im in to danzig, tool, pantera, damageplan...couple of songs from Dimmu Borgir.. But the whole death and black metal scene is too geeky and D&D for me its sad...What are they supposed to be ? Evil ? Evil lives and dies with danzig..no one else can sell it like he does.
end rant..

Hatebreed is good..for a while...They suck lyrically IMO but i do like their hardcore music..They got their name from a misfits song if im not mistaken..so i can dig the whole violence thing. Its the right wing side im not too keen on..

Yeah , the bullet belts and corpse face paint is alittle much for me as well.I'm not much into black metal really, besides maybe early Mayhem. I like Hatebreed..got a couple albums from them. Danzigs allright, his first album is his best imo some of his stuff is too operatic for me.I loved him in the Misfits though.

as for metal i don't really like too much metal today, too much of it sounds exactly the same, i like the older stuff, pantera and megadeth are definitly favorites. i like pig destroyer though. they are pretty damn good musicians and their shit has a no bullshit pissed off vibe to it.

anyone watch metalacolypse?

Pantera is where music took a major turn in my opinion... or course metallica and megadeth started a much different trend with music... but as far as awsome guitar u just cannot beat dimebag's solos... id suggest if u get one album get cowboys from hell.. some must hear i would have to say would be (Cemetery Gates, The sleep, shedding skin, slaughtered, it makes them disappear, walk, becoming) at least some favorites of mine.

a band iv been listening to alot is All that remains. their music just keeps getting better and better as their band releases more albums. i just picked up their newest one :the fall of ideals: put out some great music. i would check out a few songs for those of you that download songs or use youtube. (the weak willed, the air that i Breathe) very fast double bass.. they have 2 lead guitarist that are awsome and have great harmony.

some of their brother bands would include shadows fall and killswitch engage.

shadows fall id suggest a few songs such as ( the light that blinds< an awsome drum introduction, those who cannot speak.)

killswitch engage - (just barely breathing, my last serenade.)

As i lay dying is an up and coming band... some younger dudes that are gettin it together but are starting to release some great music. id check out ( Reflection, Control is dead)

I myself am really trying to master my timing with double bass and just love hearing great guitar riffs as well... with metal some cant hear beyond the singing or in most cases screaming.. i mainly focus on the music as i break it and listen to different parts at a time. maybe put my focus on listening to the double bass line or the guitar riffs.

anyways Just a few suggestions.. im sure not everyone has same taste in music as myself but might be worth checkin out for some new tunes.

RIP Dimebag.. your music will live on .. as you have been an inspiration to so many. This ones for you brotha! much love

I agree.Man I seen Pantera damn near every time they came to town back in the 90's.I have every cd they ever sold in stores.Besides seeing Ministry live, Pantera was the LOUDEST band I've ever seen, I was literaly deaf after getting out of their shows. The Ministry show I saw was just obnoxiously loud, almost unbearable. When Dimebag got shot to death, I couldn't believe it, that's just tragic... blame it on the corp. I guess. I think that people who like metal and heavy shit do so because the ARE able to get past the lyrics and the singing and get into the groove of the song...good point Dimebag.

yea its tragic man... My sympathy goes out to his brother vinny though... losing his brother and bandmate .. their lives were spent together, i cant imagine the loss. they woulda made music till they were not capable of playing anymore. im just glad they put out as much great music as they did. i know alot of these up and coming bands got alot of their inspiration from dime.

should definately check out a few of those bands i threw out there. at least give a few of the songs a listen.. i named a few that i really enjoy of them.

Nept- im with you all the way on the megadeth, Dave mustane made some great music that at the time was very directed at change in the government and the senseless killing of our troops.

iv kinda been adressing some of the new metal iv been getting into... but gotta love all the older rock that has brought around music to where it is. i enjoy ozzy, motley crue, etc etc.

any other bands you guys really enjoy?

there was a band i was hearin the other day that had a great sound.. im pretty sure it was Eagles of death metal.. ill have to check on that.

i could probly listen to this All that remains album all day though, i really like their sound, they switch it up alot as far and break downs to fast double bass and their singer is getting his sound down even more.

yea man its some good stuff, this song (The weak willed) would be a much recommended to download if you get the chance. I myself have a crapped out connection so i dont DL much.. mosta the music ill go out and buy if i like it enough.. but i like throwin out songs that i think are some of each bands top compositions so everyone can decide for themselves if they like it.

pretty happy to hear that vinny is coming out with some more music.. he is making an album, i forgot who he got for a guitar player and bass player.. but if my memory serves me right it was the guy from mudvayne, ill have to check on that as well.
