FP do Puff Balls grow in your forest?
We don't have hardwood forests...when I was a little boy living in Ontario I fondly remember going out with mt my Gramps in the hardwood forest looking for Puff balls.

We have puffballs just them & the spores come out in a Bilow of dust ...Before a cookie came in to my life I was a Siberian husky owner (at one point I had five of them let me tell you that’s handful) Jack (who is pictured with Cookie and me ) lived till he was 16 years old ...I had to put down Jack (and his mate Stella ) she lived till she was 13 it was heart wrenching him for me just like it would be for any pet owner you just love them so much

Not much wind here. And it's up to 19 degrees which feels pretty nice after going out this morning when it was only 3.
