Friends telling me Phish opened with Box of rain. Must have been amazing. I hate the Phish so I wasn't there but may look that up at some point. I've had the Dead on since I heard the news. The world lost such a special soul.
Last night at work I played a bunch of Phil songs on the jukebox . At one point I was munching on a piece of cod while talking about dead shows with one of our regulars. He asked if the fish was good and I told him I've only seen Phish a few times and really like them but have always been way more into the dead. Took me moment and a laugh to realize he didn't even know there is a band named Phish. The cod was good too though. Took home a bunch.
actually did well up in tears over Phil …you know there was a time in my life when young carefree, happy go lucky loving life,totally feeling free ..nothing and I mean nothing was more a priority>>> getting to the next Grateful Dead concert, no matter where it was by hooking hook and making that recording… definitely takes a certain level of determination to achieve your goals no matter what they are

When dinosaurs roamed Earth, their surroundings looked very different than the world of today. But there were also some similarities. And now scientists have confirmed a new one: Diverse firefly species lit up the night during the late Mesozoic.
The discovery comes from a fossil of an ancient firefly species that was initially discovered in 2016, trapped in 99 million-year-old Burmese amber from northern Myanmar. The beetle is only the second firefly species from the Mesozoic to be identified.
Scientists estimated that fireflies evolved aerial bioluminescence, the ability to glow during flight, at least 100 million years ago in a July 2022 study that analyzed the first Mesozoic firefly fossil that was described in 2015. But because firefly remains from this period can be difficult to come by since the insects’ softer bodies don’t preserve well in the fossil record, the evolution of the beetles and their bioluminescence has been difficult to pinpoint, experts say.
