How about this weather!! The weather cannot be better for planting the garden.

The tomato starts are taking right off. From now on my production tomato plants are coming from the Mennonites. Buck a plant and the starts at STOUT. I have no clue how they do it but the many generations of growers have certain figured it out. I'll grow my heirlooms for breeding but I can't grow the type of plants they do for a dollar each. They were more than happy to make a deal for next season. Big time save.

I need topsoil bad but 600 a truckload right now and that's just stupid prices. Rather get bales of peat and till in the clay.

Glad I waited for once. Everyone up my way who planted early is dealing with stunt. For once I made the right call lol

Enjoy the Saturday everyone!

The Amish greenhouse real close to me called Countryside has a lot of their tomato and all veggie starts for $2.05 a 4 pack which I think is an awesome price it’s just a shade over 50 cents per plant…I even trade them some of my starts for some of theirs…Daniel their main greenhouse guy when I brought him some Big Mama Paste Tomato starts his eyes lit up and said “Are those the big mama’s?” I said “Yes they are.” And then gave the three 4packs I had in my hand that were missing 1 start in each pack…he said he wishes that his own supplier could get them big mama tomato seed…i told him I get my seeds from Amazon and said maybe your supplier could work some magic for ya and he just smiled

What kinda looks did you get driving around with all them in your truck? Lol
It’s all back roads not very far was more concerned with wind whipping so I kept it in about 25 miles an hour. don’t think I saw a single car. If they passed me they weren’t paying attention.😆
It rained here today. So I did chores indoors . . . and sampled some older stock to make a tedious job not so tedious . . . :rasta:
