Spider mites help

Thanks for all the good inputs and information.

@Loc Dog Sorry to hear you have the same/similar two spotted motherf..... I am going to bin everything like you and try to save 2-3 of the best genetics outside (will spray them with Neem, Phyretheum, ISO/Water every day outside until I can take clones.

25 years on/off of growing, now finally living in a country where it is legal to grow and this shit happens.
I think the source here is all the neighboring farm fields. Thailand is famous for using very strong insecticides and chemicals. But 6 years here at same location without a single problem, until I wanted to try to grow in 3 small greenhouses outside, which then infested my indoor grow.

What is the best way to NUKE a basement of 100sqm? I only have two 5x5 grow tents for indoor, but I want to NUKE the whole basement and toilet. With NUKE I mean really want every insect gone and hopefully be able to try and start from scratch.
We also have 5 dogs, so I would prefer ISO/water or Pyretheum and keep the dogs away for half a day?
I like the idea of the Pyretheum cans, as it is in gas form and "get's in" everywhere, but wonder if it will kill all eggs?
I am happy to throw 2-4 cans in every day if this would work?

I have just harvested 9 CBD plants and to my horror I see 1 plant without a single spider mite. So on top of all problems I have just killed a plant which could possibly have solved most of my problems. Bummer...
Any chance I can reveg these 4 branches or try? A bit too much bud and a not many green leafs, but maybe?
Also the lowest 10cm of the main stem have 10-12 ultra small shots with I around 2-3mm leafs = I will try to reveg as well. Anything I can put on the cut to minimize stress? stem is around 20mm thick. Clonex? a bit of shrink rap to avoid the top drying out?

Is the basement empty of all plants??? How many square feet? I just took 3 month break, and have been trying to find clean clones and just got mold infected clones from 2 sellers. Revegging flowerying plant takes awhile, will look weird till it gets back, and will likely grow non-symetrical. In high heat eggs will hatch every 3 to 5 days and really hard to get the spray covering bottom of leaves except for cuts and small plants. Would dunk every day for a few minutes, for 2 weeks. The mites I had were hardened the last time by living in huge warehouse grows and hit with everything they had and developed immunity. Mites from outside should not be a nightmare, if they are sprayed with something like neem. If you use insecticide foggers leave a light on (any wattage) because dark can put them into hibernation. This where I learned for common spider mites. I bought Venerate which does not kill adults, but prevents the young from molting and they crush to death. https://www.icmag.com/threads/snype...r-mites-broad-mites-with-100-neem-oil.268114/

UVC kills everything and is very harmful to eyes even low wattage for short time. I flipped a power strip on with low watt UVC buld while tent open, did not even know it was on for half minute and screwed up one eye. Better 3 months later, but not back to normal. More expensive units have remote controls.

The 2 spotted spider mites I have seems impossible to eradicate. I have tried anything from Neem, Spinosad, ISO/H20 and 2 insecticides. In the beginning they did not like indoor 25-26C or was controllable, but it seems like they are just evolving and now they love indoor.

I have a 36W UV light for a saltwater aquarium and also thought about using this, but it will not get into all small gaps like Pyretheum gas will do?
Yes, I also learned the hard way when I was using an exposed 12W aquarium UV light to cure UV glue on some salmon flies when I was 18 years = 2 days of unbearable pain and watering eyes. (welding eyes).

What is my best chance to reveg one of the 4 branches with bud?
1. Cups, soil and dome as I usually do = I think bud rot.
2. Bubble/air cloner without dome and spray the inside of the tent to create a higher humidity, but keep all spray away from the buds.

When I did it, it was saving what was left after harvest, and waiting for weeks for branches worth cutting. Never tried cloning flowering branches. Would think under constant light they will root. Might get fairly tall before throwing decent branches. For me indoor in tent, like to keep short and wide. I only clone using Snypes rockwool method in previous reply.

I fought those mites for about 8 months before just trashing everything since had clone, veg, and flower running at same time. What finally trashed them was mold from being weak and getting botrytis. Keeping humidity up and fogging often, to try and get bottoms of leaves. Then full blown mold and could not root snips off mothers since so sick.

Sorry, it was Snypes spider mite link I had previously mentioned. This is the rockwool method I use. Have had problems with aero cloners, and if bacteria or mold they all die.

Thx @Loc Dog
I will give up on the 4 branches, too much bud mass vs leaf = they will mold before making any roots.
Only chance is the original plant wich is in a 28L airpot.
Camera does not pick up, but there are like 10-12 small "new" shots/branches shooting out. Ultra small with like 2-3mm leaves, but they are poking out. So maybe? let's see, I have put shrink wrap and tape around the top/cut to avoid the top of the stem drying out.

Was reading about stem canker recently and said to spray open cuts with hydrogen peroxide to prevent problems. I bought a pruning sealer but have not tried yet since says for ornamental plants.

I would not keep cut too moist. Let it heal but spray once a day with H2O2. It is your choice, but that is what I would do.

Total nuke? As long as the exhaust goes outside, this is probably the ONLY time I would recommend Hot Shot Pest Strips or whatever those nasty things are called. lol

I was planning to empty 3-4 500ml cans of Pyretheum spray, leave it for 4-5 hours and then open doors to ventilate. Pyretheum is marked as safe to humans, but I will make sure to make proper ventilation after 4-5 hours. Just not sure it will kill everything, even if I do every 2-3 days for x weeks?
What good options are there to mix in a 10L sprayer and spray walls/tents etc? as secondary nuke.
Thx

Not sure if I already mentioned, but if I won lottery jackpot would go to Phuket to live.

@Loc Dog you don't need to win the lottery to move to Thailand. Everything here is relatively cheap.
We own a house in Bangkok, but I hate Bangkok traffic, too hot, too humid and too many people. So we are renting 2200 sqm land with a big old house on the beach for 850 USD per month. I can work from home, so it is pretty nice to have a 180 degree sea view all day long.
New visa's are available for Digital Nomads = with a relatively small income you can obtain a visa and be allowed to work from home. Or buy the Elitevisa and report your income every following year = zero tax and easy life fully legal.

I worked doing network security for large pharmaceutical, then had to take off to take care of father with alzheimers. Not working for 3 years no one was hiring under GWB. Tried some projects which failed and went bankrupt, then had to deal with bed ridden mother for 6 years. House was reverse mortgaged to pay bills and left poor. That started in 2005 and no way to get job in 60's with no recent experience. Really shot myself in the foot buying 8 dogs to help with depression and lonliness. Getting them to phuket would be a nightmare, and most rentals I have seen do not allow dogs, except for expensive rentals. Truly hate where I live. My backup is Mexico, which I can drive to, and some areas have water almost as nice. Street food in Phuket looks wonderful. If you ever have bad day, be happy you are not in NJ.

Do not think i mentioned earlier, but in case you get them again, I used Venerate which does not kill adults, but prevents young from molting and are crushed to death as growing. You can treat small plants easily, drowning in water every 3 days for about 6 times. I think Isopropyl and water is safe but not sure of ratios. No matter what you spray, hard to get all of them since on bottom of leaves.

Mexico is a looong drive from New Jersey! How long does it take you to reach your destination?
btw can you live down there for a longer period of time?

edit. you don´t live in NJ, right? You´re just taking the piss... :biglaugh:

Iso and water, as I've mentioned maaaany times now, will dissolve webs and kill eggs along with living mites.
Bullcrap.. i bought 70% iso and mixed 30ml to a liter which is much stronger than your recommended ratio and dipped the plants in it for 5 seconds in a swirling motion and 24 hours later the spider mites were still moving no problem so.. i gotta say bull.
