SOUR DUBBLE INFO THREAD

My outdoor plant was small and put out late so I can't give an accurate outdoor rating but she did good. Very loud, no mold, and somewhat leafy but that means lots of good trim (which I turned into rosin and went blast off).

Here's a shot before they hit the jars. Still figuring out this new camera, it seems to have lots of contrast when I take the pic.

I'm sad that GS tossed me under the bus. Sometimes things don't work out like they should have. The only thing I can say, Its a shame I wasn't told from the beginning. It is what it is.

So that means if you keep selfing the winner from every 's' generation eventually you'll have all winners?

Seems too easy?

easy to make, more work to do the evaluation of progeny each line...

One of my goals are to make my own individual homozygous lines and cross them to make supreme F1's...
The work is in the progeny testing and evaluation, isolating of more homozygous indivisuals etc etc.

exactly it takes enormous amount of time to test the progeny. When is enough enough do you test 50,100,200. Its not something that can be accomplished quickly.. I'm not looking for plants that are identical the SDubb. There no point in doing that.

If you WERE trying to make seeds of an elite clone, enough is enough when you find what you are looking for.

If the Sour Dubble is such an elite cutting it seems that there would be a point in doing it, as well for other great cuttings.....

Maybe it wouldn't take as many seeds, who really knows?

they wont be identical to sour dubb like that at all as it is a heterozygous for many traits, being a hybrid, but you will see doubling of gene pairs, possibly both good and bad, this makes outcrossing these traits reliable for example as a breeding tool and could lead to some fantastic crosses. Who knows what youll find. I'm betting some fire.

My outdoor spot always makes my plant kick out an S1. Hopefully in the case of dubb I find another or two.

You would be searching seeds for your life. You have to stop at some point. You may never find every trait you want. You need to decide whats important and then work down for there. Popping a lot of seeds is preferred to get a good look. That's where the issue lies with small seed makers. I don't have the room to do 200 seeds all at the same time. they will have to be done in batches and that adds even more time.

I had the same with my keeper. Solid yields with that strong pineapple aroma. Mine would pop naners late in flower. This is why she wasn't kept longer... Will be interesting to see what comes up..

Yea it does rubber chicken, or why in the yell isn't that the only thing breeders do

WELL, what happens is the further you go down the gene pool of something that equates to 30 different plants over the last two decades...

Once you start hitting S5 and S6, you'll start seeing a lot of undesired recessive traits show up out of no where.

The best way to self - is to use standard breeding principles from an F2 line.

Isolate plants of the same family that breed fairly true for a single trait when selfed. Isolate each trait into an individual s4 - and then start recombining the individuals.

A x B = AB

Now you have to self the plant in AB that possess BOTH trait sets. Take it a few selfed generations. Now self in C. Start back at square one. Take to s4...

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

So I camped out @stax to try to snag some of those s.dubxquerkle and I ended up napping and missed my opportunity waking up an hour later...bummer. I grew out your GDP xquerkle I think from the server fund and many custies and I really enjoyed all of the phenos that cross yielded. I'm certain sour dub would have mixed well with that male. You snooze you lose:(

Love the flavor of Sour Dubb... To me it's a sweet and sour pine inhale that is pretty expansive. The exhale is straight up lemon starburst candy and sweet/sour pine.

How's that sound to you pros out there?
