I’d play around with some sour mango…

-DD :canabis:
Sounds good to me but please note the pollen is Sour Mango

The seeds being made with be Sour D x Sour D/MHz as described earlier in thread… - I may call them Sweet & Sour D; obviously untested but I’m growing some as soon as they’re ready for certain, perhaps run some outside too, maybe even some gorilla

75% Sour - 25% MHz

Getting really stank in my house & outside it now, skunk wafting out the open windows, it’s been hot - from 4’ snow to upper 80’s in under a month outside…

in the room plants are in it’s sour pine citrus diesel, orangey if I had to narrow - but further away it’s all skunk - really stinky all @ my house, far out back hundreds feet away I’m getting it, I’ll tell my neighbor I saw a skunk under his barn again - haha

Week or two and I’ll full plant hang these, good size seed crop coming - likely some last pics of these plants until seeds & done…

I can’t wait to pop the Sour D x Sour Mango forming within; If they’re good I’ll make available & believe I already told two members I’d send them some

So I grabbed a small flower to see maturity of seeds as the whole plants hang drying, definitely gonna be a good success… 95% are viable looking or so, I’m gonna stick these here in the fridge a week or two to stratify just in case then I’ll be popping some, for others I’ll let them dry out and cure a bit more before sharing along to those I said I would…

The heavily seeded flower… oh man every time I hit her I wonder why I don’t always have it growing….

I posted one flower from one of 10 plants above, the S1's I made definitely have some diversity in them and again began as very very likely a single herm / selfed seed...

In the end I created two buckets, one has all seeds which is from 10 females, of which I probably began with around 30 or so plants, I ended up using One male from 8 or 9 in total to choose from... The other bucket has seeds from my two favorite females and same one male.....

Two favorite females, one is taller & more sativa, other is more chunky and squat... both stinkers in similar but different funky ways

Sweet & Sour Mango may not be all that sweet but we'll see once I pop those.....

Right now it's a skunky pine forest of orange diesel funk drying

For some reason I am getting system errors when trying to post pictures, it's going to be another few weeks of curing & drying over here until I have final seed pics...

Good project, many many great seeds to pass along

Peace

lovely healthy looking seeds. I love the combo Sour Mango. I don't think anyone's done that one before.
For clarity & many thanks

Wally aka @Donald Mallard made the sour mango years ago which is Chaco cut Sour D X Inbred Mango Haze from Shanti

I collected the mom from a seed of Sour D in upstate NY in 2000 as thread begins

So seeds above are 75% Sour D and 25% Mango Haze

Tentatively I’m calling it Sweet & Sour D but I haven’t grown any yet so possibly will change

Peace

TY -

I build my soils & recycle them
Indefinitely, they have native (honeoye soils) peat, coco, turface, perlite & whatever the cheapest bag stuff is when I go to store that looks good; I’m organic grower & farmer and for me it’s more about diverse inputs, having enough clay for CEC sites and then really it all comes down to proper watering imo….

Here’s a light pic, the tiny red one is my viewing light at night (effectively a far red bulb, actually speeds up night processes, it’s a cheap reptile nocturnal bulb) but is on same switch as lights outside the room so on here, the only lights off are Ushio Mid range UVB which I run 4 hours midday

I build my own LED, the DE is 1000w hortilux which I recently got a few on the cheap as they going out business

I’m very fortunate, this room has nearly 11’ ceilings :)

Your mix spectrum is genius ever looked at 14k metal halide with low iron glass?? They call it a finishing bulb but I would thunk haze and sattys would appreciate the blue/uv all cycle long. Takin it further could develop light regiments for specific phenotypes

I been following this thread and the sour threads u pop in to show your “sour” please can u call it something else we already have enough confusion and calling it upstate sour when u don’t kno for sure u got it as sour but it can be a sour og or sour kush is just making it confusing

That said the color of the nugs and pistils look sour diesel ish but the fan leaves and crowning the serration in the leaves and the shape is wrong real deal sour makes the fattest fan leaves for a sativa also the fan leaves stop about 1/3 of the way up and begin to turn sideways and grow out of the buds it also has telltale dark green petioles that give it a distinct look there buried behind the buds the most common sign is the stacking of it doesn’t stack it’s not sour every real sour even crosses stacked yours grows like a pole

Crossing it to the ecsd x Mango u will see the difference those ecsd leaners will be as I described

Sour D CAME from Upstate NY, the real sour is from @ here upstate / CNY..... I call it exactly what I should IMO, unlike some others whom are just slinging shit; made up stories & names of cuts they have little clue about true origins, and certainly not cuts from 20-25+ years ago...

I took a seed out of a lb of Sour D from CNY in the winter of 2000 I know that for 100% fact, what would you suggest I call it then better than I've been, honestly - I'd love to hear a better idea...?

PS: what makes you the Sour D Expert btw, any pics of your "authenticated" Sour D you have in the present..?

Many thanks
