So customs took my beans

why, your not incriminating yourself in any way bu answering those questions..... i'm just trying to learn from your experience.

Well I do think it is possible to get busted as a result of ordering beans but it is a crap shoot, most people are going to be just fine but there is always the chance of getting busted as a result. I do believe Angus's story as I don't see what he has to gain by not being truthful. It's a chance that you take everytime you order but the odds are in your favor so it's pretty safe but not 100%. If somehow you can get the seeds sent to an address that can't be traced back to you then the odds in your favor go up even more. When I used to order seeds that wasn't the case for me, I had no where else to have them sent except to my house where my little grow is. I shit myself everytime but I was lucky and I always recieved my seeds and usually very promptly. (High marks for Heaven's Stairway!, lol).
When I did get busted it had nothing to do with ordering seeds but rather from the very funky smell of Chemdog D. Unlike Angus though I have no real horror stories about my bust. You have to remember that not every cop is out to fck you, it is up to the lead detective as to what charges are filed. Your criminal record is a major factor as well, in my case I am 54 years old and the only mark on my record is a DUI from 1978. Another fact in my favor is that I've lived in this town since 1958 so I know everyone from the mayor on down so they know what kind of person I am even if I'm a pothead. Anyhow I was busted with about 20 plants or so in various stages of maturity along with about six ozs of dried weed and four ozs of that was cut into dimes. I also had about a half oz of hash they took and a little dangly scale and all I ended up being charged with was misdemeanor possesion, I had my case continued without a finding for a year and then it was dismissed, no fines, no court costs and no lawyer! I think one thing that helped me was my attitude when I was getting popped, my neighbor said he never saw anyone be so polite while they got busted, lol. I was lucky in many ways but I did help my case by assuming the attitude that the cops were just doing their jobs rather than acting like thwey were my enemy. Of course the clean record really helped as if the had charged me with distribution and manufactoring the odds are I would have just gotten probation anyhow especially since there was no evidence of any money. All I'm saying is if you get into a situation keep your head, if you get the least confrontational you are going to fck up your case from the get go, don't volunteer any information but try to maintain an appearance of a friendly and cooperative attitude. They kept asking me about the dimes and the scale and I told them that I rationed myself as I'm a heavy smoker, it may sound stupid but it was an answer and one that I stuck to. Now if I had had a record it would have been a different story as then they could have used jail time as a lever to try to get me to cooperate but as it was I was surprised by the lack of effort to get me to roll over. Just remember that each bust is different but at least some of what happens is determined by your attitude at the time of your bust. Some cops might be real pricks but for the most part they are just doing their job, if you act like they are the enemy they ARE going to be the enemy.

Well you still haven't said how long from the seed seizure till they came poking around. You should of avoided the cops, or at least handled yourself better. Sounds like they were not being very legit if this is true, and you never said how much weed you had growing. Bags of soil out back and no crops, well it is a bit early for much garden work to be going on.
And a low electric line to the house? They all drop fucking low!
If you did get busted I feel bad for you and why would you get ride of your account if you got fried so convincingly? Ha, you must be a cop to think that they treat one plant as like meth in ANY STATE!

Sounds all very speculative for a search warrant, it takes more than speculation. It takes probability, if they prove that the facts that they inferred were improbable. As in they found nothing illegal, than that looks pretty darn awful..........and a basis for a lawsuit if you move quickly enough.

Just don't get them delivered to your home. I have had seeds nabbed only to get some delivered a week later. They can't catch you unless you leave breadcrumbs.

if anyone else has any links to recent news stories about people getting busted for having seeds delivered id love to see them. the link above is like from 91 and it seems like you have to par to read the whole story, i remember the Dr. Arnaldo Trabucco and Pamela Trabucco case, i think they got a slap on the wrist, like a year probation, and they had like 30 plants...... im thinking about ordering some for the first time, and i just don't want to have any problems
pictures or didn't happen...,im just kidding...j/k....when was the "last" news article/story anyone had seen "where this has happened...surely google would have something.......

Ya, so what strains did you order Angus........how many packs of seeds. Because I swear, some of these seedbanks leave absolutely NO PC to have them opened. That is why they take them and don't investigate anyone. When the Government brakes the law, that doesn't make a very solid case.

this whole mess just sucks. I know all of us are fascinated enough with growing as a science that this is just depressing to be denied your passion or hobby. I am fascinated with all of the different strains and their lineage, and i don't even fucking smoke or deal. Former because of pain clinic random UA's. Stilll.
I am looking into going to A canada seeedshop or maybe even flying to the UK with a stack to buy ALL the strains I want, then fly back with them in my gut.
I am sufficiently concerned about ordering to not do it. Safe address fooey.
Time to start flying or driving those fuckers in ourselves.
Also, time to move to CALIFORNIA; best thing going for the passionate grower at this time
