Well...we've about licked the scale, or darn close to it. We are continuing the spray, trimming, and training. These two big bitches are ready to BUST from under the screen, so we're going to flower now.

I have a feeling this is going to get crazy too. These are pretty huge bushes contained by the screen. I'll flip the lights tonight and we're gonna let em come on through finally.

Bring on the buds! :headbange

Hey VT  Thanks man. This has been a hell of a run already. Trying to heal from surgery (3 mos later) and deal with this is a lot of work. I'm just hoping we win the battle!

hidingtree  One of my most valuable friends on here, for sure! :friends: You will tend to get some root bumps at the bottom from time to time on plants, but although these look a lot like that, they are pests and go all the way up my stems.

I use my Canon S3IS for the pics on super macro mode. It can take pics at 0.0" (touching the lens, literally) from the lens. I just use that in Av mode (aperture priority) with as low an ISO setting as possible (80-200), and I usually shoot the macros at an aperture of 8.0 with one or two extra stops on the exposure. I either set the white balance or use that on auto.

I've been spraying with a product similar to Safer's End All, it's just pyrethrin and cannola oil. You can find a ton of other generic brands containing the same stuff that will probably work. The one I'm using seems to be working.

Great seeing you again in here hidingtree. I keep you in my thoughts as well. Thanks amigo! :friends:

Here we go at about 6 days of flower. No signs of budding yet, but starting to stretch rather nicely through the screen. There is a TON of plant mass hidden underneath. Literally a tangled web. I love it! I'm not trimming the bottom away at all because that just means extra bud or hash trimmings for me.

This is turning out to be a good run so far. Dunno if the pests are licked...still not positive on that, but we've gotta go full speed ahead regardless now. I can't wait for the pistils to pop now! :jump:

Just for fun.....way back when we started vegging to fill the screen:

Now, after 2 mos veg and 6 days flower:

Hey Dimebag! I'm fighting with all I've got to get a good run this time. I need a hefty harvest outta this one.

Hazy! What's up man!?!? The smell isn't really kicking yet thankfully, cuz the whole house is gonna stink, lol. The spray seems to suppress the odor a good bit. I'm gonna try one last spray before the buds show and then just let it go. At best, all pests die and go away, at worst, hopefully I can harvest before they get bad again.

hi S2D, really enjoyed reading your thread, top work, and glad you got on top of the scale problem. I found pyrethrin pretty effective and cheap. I know a lot of things are resistant, but I've got a few different bottles, and a combination seems to do the trick (got rid of my mites anyway!!)
I'm just starting my 2nd scrog with the blueberry, this thread is like deja-vu all over again..reassuring that you came to similar conclusions I did, though I gotta admit yours are looking a bit happier than mine...I've had a couple of messed up grows, but the quality of the high from the blueberry makes it imperative to get it right this time, I need one of those hefty harvests too!.
Mine are about 10 days behind yours, so it'll be interesting to see yours putting on the buds

waster Thanks for poppin in man! I got the scale problem good enough to get through flower I think. It seems the scale love the woody blueberry stalks far more than they ever did the sk#1's rubbery, greener stalks. They are taking hold again, because I guess after a month of spraying some still survived, but I had no choice. Got to flower or run out of room.

These blueberry plants make one HELL of a stretch when flipped to flower. They have literally screamed right past the screen and reached for the stars (HID's). I am quite surprised at the amount of stretch between internodes too. Very interesting growth, very vigorous.

hidingtree Hey buddy! :friends: Yup, still watching the trails. Don't worry, my cage is not the least bit rattled by non-believers. It's a lot of fun for me to put the info out there and toy around with them a bit. That is the smallest of topics I could come up with too. Imagine if I get around to the big stuff that is going on....they don't wanna know! People are resistant to things that may even affect them directly. How did that go? Resistance is futile?

I agree with you 100% that what will be, will be...Hopefully though one or two souls will awaken before their time is up. As for me, I am fine and dandy...trying like heck to get working again from this surgery. 3 months of sheer hell over that one item, but alas, I'm close I think.

Anyway, here's a few pics to show how crazy it's getting in there. The left side is stretching further due to less training because I can't reach anymore, lol. Buds are starting to form rather quickly. They look like little nougats already. Much in contrast to other strains I've grown, this one is getting it on quick! :headbange

...there is no screen. :joint:

I do believe you are going to have a bumper crop in there my friend.I made a cross of Brothers Grimm Ice Princess with Dutch Passion Femmed Blueberry about 7 years ago when OG was still up.It was some of the best pot I have ever smoked. No real problems with hermies either.I did have the bumps from the scale, but never really a problem.

It seems you have had a real "pain in the ass" recently,I lost my home in February this year from a fire, and it is a real pain in the ass too,but not in a physical form like you,no real pain.I had the last remaining cut of that cross one week from flower at about three feet tall in the room ready to flower when the fire started.

Once the fire was out,the only room not to be affected was the grow room. I had to clean it out,and trash the plant before the fire marshall got there to inspect for the cause of the fire. The plant was so stout,it literaly held a stainless steel sauce pan in it's branches.

What are you running for flower on this one, about 1000? We are about a week out from our new home,I'll post some new grow room pics if ya don't mind,I'm sitting here needing a crop myself...and wanting to take pics.Peace...and elbow grease.

Hey outame! I remember you from OG way back.....great to see you in my thread here!

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss to fire. That is one situation every grower worries deeply about, not because grows often cause fires, but because the authorities show up.

The scale are a sone of a bitch, they are taking over the stems and the spots on the leaves are very unsightly. I'm hoping though to still have a good harvest. I am very glad to hear from someone else who has actually experienced this.

I'm running two 400W HPS in here, which gives me 50wpsf. It's getting a little wild in there too. Hard to continue training the left side, so I hope all the colas do well over there.

Please do post your pics, I can't wait to see them! Thanks again for coming through, it's good seeing some of the old faces. :smoke:

DId you say stretch? Try Tangerine Haze with 1700 watts vegged for 3 months...he he.Bored as hell,no smoke for months as I only smoke my own.You cannot imagine how anxious I am to get in the new grow room.

It is 42 square feet, with Ro rejected water draining into the sewer line.New nutes, air conditioned, ventilation to the attic and outside, carbon scrubber, main power panel is in the room, vinyl floor,12 sockets, and 1700 watts of fun just waiting for me.All inspected and passed. All individual branches for all.And not even a bowl to pack...just waiting, but getting better. How was your day? He He! :muahaha:

Damn.....strrrrrretch. I know the feeling of being set up and ready to rock with not even a roach to smoke. As for my day...it will get better when I can fully recover. I still after three months have a lot of pain and swelling. It's killing me not being able to work. It's like nothing moves forward. To top it off, I'll run out of stash in a day or two and I'll be waiting just as you are. Thankfully, I'm already at about 19 days of flower, but that just means another 50 to go.. :smoke:

-VT- Hey buddy! I think you'll like this update. I've taken a number of bud shots because I am really intrigued by the bud formations on this strain as well as the amount of stretch for what seemed to be almost positively the most indica dominant plant I've grown.

Dimebag They are indeed coming along good for the amount of damage the pests do. I was amazed when I reached through to switch the lights off at the timer for pics, and I pulled my arm out to notice the most beautiful sweet blueberry smell. I was wondering if this would actually smell like blueberries and it DOES! Woohoo! :headbange

The Dopest Glad to see you got your :lurk: and you're here! This is gonna be a fun one I think. Included below is a pretty hefty update of photos. Lot's of good budshots too. Enjoy...I know I am. :joint:
