My little loves the chickens. Just got a new round of chicks this past weekend, they're in a large plastic tote, she sits on her knees and just stares at them. The older birds let her pet them.

She's running around like a maniac, 16 months this week. Her saying "app-pull" (=apple) is hilarious, running around chanting it in both questioning and excited tones.

Sweet :) it's a lovely age for sure, so looking forward to showing her potatoes n peas etc growing away and explaining it all- passing on the knowledge just like it was passed to me.

I feel very lucky to have the responsibility and opportunity of teaching her and helping her grow.... You can almost see those neural pathways forming as they learn new stuff.

Awesome.

I envy you, me and my Mrs. got together too late to have and raise kids. Plus there were other factors stopping us. So now I just live vicariously thru others like yourself. :)

That's a shame, man. I was worried that I might have left it too late at one point, but luckily I met Mrs b in time!
Hope my back holds out till she's all grown :)

The weed helps the back no end.. I have hereditary dehydrated discs in the lower back (sister n a few other relatives have it too) weed works so much better than any tablets.... I got my sister to have some joint after 2 weeks of not being able to move much, and literally 5 puffs later she stood up, bent over, and touched her toes. She was shocked.

The harvest was so-so, never enough really so I will be buying soon enough :( got to swing me a good outside crop this year

Eh it's not so bad, it would be nice to have kids to help with the yard work but I'm still able to manage as long as I got my John Deere. :) With all the crap I see going on in the world and the kind of future that is shaping up for this upcoming generation I'm somewhat relieved to not have kids to worry about.

I mean when I was coming up explaining sex was the biggest worry parents had. Now in addition to that you have to deal with predators, violence, why the elementary schools need metal detectors (well here in the US anyways), etc. I would be the parent that would go psycho on the world if anything happened to my kid, kind of like Gerard Butler in "Law Abbiding Citizen". So it's probably all for the best I don't have kids. :)

That is one happy chilled out dog :)
My lil Jack Russell don't often chill, too hyper.

I know what you mean hempkat, so many worries in the world these days... I'm gonna have to protect her well.

I am going go try the Danish gold from hybrids from hell this year... Got to find a nice early September finisher as the uk flowering season is notoriously short.
It is guerrilla gold x Danish passion, and judging by the reviews it could be what I seek :)

Can't wait for my seeds.... Easter makes the mail take much longer.

I am planning to get the peas planted this week, then drop in the potatoes- going to take baby brunch down the garden with me as I feel it's never too early to teach em where the food comes from and how plants grow... She loves seeing the chickens and comes to get the eggs with me already.
I love all this kinda shit

My littles likes to hand me pots and helps me move stuff to and fro. Silly nuggets :)

Got my first crop of broccoli starting to almost get there. Have two varieties one's purple sprouting the other is waltham #29. Aphids are ripping up my chard and beets. Beating them back.
Beans: Purple podded, scarlet runners (have beautiful peach blossoms!) tarbias (for cassoulet), cowboy beans, state half runners. Grow all of them for dried beans...have my peas for fresh goodies. per 4ft of beans usually yields a 2-2.5#'s of beans depending on variety. Give them plenty of vertical room. 6-8' typically. the half runners only need 4-6 feet.

Carrots, turnips, garlic, onions, peas, beans rocking out in the garden. Have 1st and 2nd round of tomato seeds started. 1st round is out in the greenhouse, 2nd is just starting to sprout. :)

Peppers, melons, squash, tomatillo and corn garden spaces are ready to go

Sounds like a good harvest is on the cards for you !

My runners did well last year so I have saved seeds from the best which I will be starting off soon, got to get some salad onion and carrots in soon... Going to try the broccoli again in a different part of the plot because it bolted last year.
Lawn is growing quick now (damn mowing) and I planted a raspberry bush and blackcurrant bush in the winter, and much to my shock they are sprouting like mad ... All good food for my lot! :)
