lil update+pics+bad news

lil update+pics+bad news

A lil update for everyone……….WITH PICS!!! :headbange ……….cept they aren’t really that amazing, y’all just bug me for ‘em so…. ;)

Lets start off with what the thread is supposed to be about… skud and shoreline clones.

Lets start with the bad news…
None of the shoreline clones made it. All but one of the stems was less than an inch and the leaves were sparse. I did what I could but I can’t claim to be an expert grower and unfortunately I let down SBP by letting these lil baby girls die.

Now for the good news…
3 of the skud clones have rooted and 2 of them are in their own lil 1 quart swc bubbler under my 150w cab. O….did I forget to mention that? I finally completed my shoddy job on my cab minus the carbon filter. I really have about 3 weeks to get that ready, I don’t mind a lil skunky smell around…..i think it makes the place smell nicer:)

You might happen to notice that other lil 1 quart container on the left. That happens to be where I’m germinating 9 AnnaC Medicinal Seeds Strawberry Diesel x NYCD and 3 MOD Menage a Trois.

In the cloning cabinet, the most low tech grow area evvvvvverrrr, I have a bushy pheno female and a single cola pheno female cut of SWT#3/SWT#4/Blockhead as well as a male single cola pheno of the same. Hopefully at least the female cuts root in the perlite that they’re in right now and I can make mothers out of them .

Hope everyone is enjoyin the show so far.

On a side note:

I just found out from a close friend that her father smokes cannabis for medicinal reasons, as a few months ago she introduced him to it and it apparently helps a lot and lets him get through the day without as many addictive painkillers. I unfortunately forgot what the condition is, but I’m going to try to find out without being rude about it as it seems to be a sensitive topic with her.

I’m hoping that once I remember/ask what the condition he has is, I can get some advice on the best strain for it on here, and then pick it up and start growing it on the side to donate to him and if he is receptive to the idea, set him up with a perpetual harvest, as he goes through about a ½ ounce a week according to my friend.
She doesn’t know I grow and I’m most likely gonna keep that to myself still. However, I think I can Maybe just set up a really simple organic soil SOG grow, probably under a 400w hps. If that’s the case, I’ll just kick them some rooted clones every week or two, whenever they need them to keep it perpetual. I want to set it up so I can show them a few simple steps, walk them through the little processes, and teach them how to do it on their own, with everything from growing to harvesting, dryings, and curing. I want to go soil just because of the simplicity and the low cost. Probably will do it in grow bags just to maximize the space and minimize money spent.

update

so just a lil weekly update for everyone.
I don't get to post much on here due to internet connection issues and trying to pick out the best spot to get connected.

I was sick all last week with a nasty cold, so i didn't do much work, but nothing really needed to be done since they're all so small.

I unfortunately smoked myself dry after last night right before my bday :( luckily, one opf my good friends is gonna make sure i have smoke to celebrate :rasta: i love good friends.

now on to the plants

first of all...........

thanks for the cuts SBP! way to hook me up bro

this is the plants one 9/23, about a week into veg. And no, im not keeping exact days while vegging.......they're just gonna be moms anyway.

1 week in and fillin up quick. I already have about 6-8 sites to top per plant right now.

my perlite starrter container. STDs from annaC on keft and menage a trois from MOD on right. 6/9 std's are up and strong (a couple more popped, but were weak) and 2/3 MOD seeds are up and strong (the third came up but was weak).

Its just a 1 quart container filled with perlite and some water in the bottom. Took the top off to let them get more light and figured the stronger ones could deal iwth the lower humidity.

just a couple more shots of the same.

its not really yellow, but the hps light throws my cam and i couldn't color correct well in editor.

just a shot of everything from the front. the one in the lil soil cup is a rooted skud cut. Just thought i'd stick one in a less volatile medium to protect the genetics.

im just gonna throw up my outdoor stuff here too.

single cola swt/bh, plant 1

branchy pheno swt/bh, plant 2

another single cola pheno swt/bh, plant 3, a lil off then closeup

my first 2 or 3 plant bush in chicken wire (sry, i went out after sunset for better cover and it was too dark)

i think its purpling up on a few buds......and i thought it was 75% sativa

some nice 1" stalks on bush 2

bush 2 gets some nice cover from whatever those yellow plants are. how ya like the foldover on the chicken wire?

this little longish bug, almost mini grasshopper looking, with red and blue thin stripes running the length of its body, i couldn't focus in well.

gotta love nature:)

thats it for now.

might be building a lil 1k room in the near future, so stay tuned. also might change my 150 w grow to soil for stealth reasons.

SBP: those skuds really stink! i walked into my place today, outside my door there was that pungent, not quite skunk yet, aroma.....not good.
I hook up an external carbon filter today from an old grow to hopefully clean the air in my apt a lil. I guess i gotta get on making a scrubber......

thats it for now everybody. any questions just ask

happy birthday irishsoco
you pop your seeds in moist perlite?
you'll like the mod stuff. the dreamgoddess is great.

this was my first round trying the perlite thing. So far it has worked amazingly. I just put 6 of the seedlings into an swc bubbler tonight (pics to follow, my connection is too slow right now), 4 std Xnycd's and 2 MOD menage a trois. correction on the above post, with the stdXnydc, i put 9 into the system, 7 popped (other two were in dry spots i think) 4 strong plants emerged. those will be vegged out and hopefully i get fems of both the nycd pheno and the std pheno :) a male to save for breeding wouldn't hurt either :)
I think you have to leave the seedlings in the perlite long enough to develop feeder roots, as the bagseed seedlings i put in a few days earlier (to test the method so i didn't waste good seeds.........and y'all thought seedy bud was bad...) and the one with a few little feeder roots is shootin those out, but the one i put in with just a tap root refuses to put out feeders and has a 6-8 inch long taproot with nothing else!

I used the perlite because nobody around me, including walmart and the local garden stores, has any peat plugs available. those are my favorite for germing as i've only managed to screw up once with them by letting them dry out. but if you remember the humidity dome then you're fine.

The perlite is nice and simple and will hopefully allow me to get some hydro moms right away instead of vegging, topping, rooting new clone, vegging that clone in hydro, and finnally having a mother........ill just veg it in hydro.

These skud clones i have are stiiiinky though like i said. i'm havin people over tommorow night to soooo............guess ill have to pretend i ran into a skunk and didn't take a shoer again :rasta:

lil update
(i think i start too many posts off like that.......o well)

I priced it out and decided to go ahead and build a hidden 1k room in my living area. Just went out and bought the 2x4's and plywood to frame it in and successfully (and stressfully) did a little late night (stealth) move in of the materials. I also picked up a stanley blower and did a lil price shopping at HD and Wallyworld for other materials. I measured the outside of the stanley output at 19.5 inches, which is .66 inches too big for the 6" (6*3.14=18.84radius) ducting to fit around.........so ill be using lots of aluminum tape probably and stretching that shite out and around.
I'll probably be framing in a 4x6x8'H space on one side to create the hidden room (3 walls already there) and will be assembling the basic pieces over the next month. Ive already got a 250w HPS on standby to go in and get some plants vegging. I'll be buying a mountain air 4"ID x30" carbon filter pretty soon probably and some ducting, to hook that up to the fan, some vents with HEPA filters for an intake (probably 6"X12" or something to match the vents already in my living area. Instead of lining the floor with pond liner, i found some $14 6" deep 4'x2' trays to put my growbags in so they don't flood the place when I water.
I won't have enough cash for a lil bit to purchase the 1k hps (might get an industrial bare-bones setup for $100ish to get me started but want to get a nice-ish $250-300 setup with a quality remote ballast and everything pre-wired for me as thats a lot of power to be f-ing with).

Luckily, blazeoneup's organic mix is cheap as anything and will cost me about $25-$30 to fill 10 3 gallon bags (which will only cost me about $10 for 20 or so).

If I do get a cheap industrial 1k im just gonna hang that thing vertically and get 16 or so plants around it (growing out lots of heavy sativa leaning plants) and I'll just pull each plant and replace it with a new one as they finish. Eventually, I'll just use my 150w cab to start plants and keep mothers (and possibly make clones, though i might just continue for a while to use my ghetto $25 light and airpump cloning setup.

too many parentheses up there^^^^ i know.....

Nothing big is happening with the plants. the seedlings fresh into the hydro are slow starting but hopefully that changes once they get some nice first true leaves going.

thats it for now
peace kids

man man man, u really have kept up my interests with your future plans!?!?!?!

glad u like them:) and glad i can keep up your interests :joint:

those skud plants smellllllllllll

i had a friend over...........i have a weak carbon filter goin............she complained it smelled like a skunk in there.

O. i wanted to bring this up for others.
if you live in a highly populated area with closely spaced houses or townhouses, , keep your living area cooler than outside your place so air stays IN your apartment as hot air moves towards cool air (convection) and not the other way around. You can't smell it at all outside but it can practically reek in your place..........i keep my place nice and cooool :rasta:

i've gotta buy a new carbon filter..........but im just gonna get a nice big one for the big grow, as i can't spend any more money on my 150 for now.

i've got new pics, just need to load them up. possibly tonight.....look out kids.........cause as usual, the pics don't change much cause my updates have been to close and the hydro roots of my skud moms aren't big enough yet for any real explosive growth to occur. Give them a week and they'll balloon.

sorry, i don't know the history of skud

sbp might be able to answer that though.

You got another skunk lover that will be watching this thread take off. Mmmmmmmmmmm oh i meant pew.

glad to have ya yerba:)
hopefully i can keep you entertained

skuds gonna be a stinker and word on the street is that shoreline has a good chance of making it back into the lineup. connection is slow now, but ill get update pics up soon.

i just popped 6 AnnaC HiDoll (kodiak gold cross) and 6 AnnaC Colombian F2's in some peat pellets, so we'll see how that goes. should know whats up with those in terms of viability in 1-4 days.

the sweet tooth cut is still tryin to throw roots but i think its gonna take 2-3 more weeks if it has to reveg first. I took 5-6 weeks into flower though so thats gonna make it take a while i guess.

i shut down my ghetto bubble cloner setup..... under my sink :p..... and moved the sweet tooth cut to a perlite wick bed i started my stdxnycd and menage a trois seedlings in (cept now theres a milkjug cloche over it to cut the light from the 150w hps).

now what y'all care about.

my two skud moms are starting to take off and i should be able to get 20 quality cuts by next week so i can hopefully get the cuts into my (hopefully) soon to be built 1k room by the end of october and have a nice lil new years harvest :)

the smell of the cab is back under control and i brought my febreeze and glade deodorizer sprays in from my car (gotta have something after burn rides...) in case of guests or unexpected visitors....as the smell is basically nothing but still could be noticed by someone who knew what they were smelling.

I accidently let the rez temps (they're only 1 quart and 2 quarts respectively....gimme a break) get too high and my std and m.a.t. seedlings got a hint of brown on the roots but im hoping they recover fine.

everything will be moving into larger containers soon as soon as i decide on how they'll be grown.

****IN GANGSTA!?!?! all this in an APT??? and YESSS, the INFAMOUS SHORELINE cut will make it to a garden near you!?!?!?

SKUD... (story heard from person i was gifted clone by)

"20years ago, a few buddies in my neckOVdaWOODS got together as a collective and tried breeding for elite strains. as time flies they started out a project that was all the afgan, paki, hindu... all the strains w/ MIDDLE eastern heritage. and thru selective breeding have come up with SKUD *akaSKUDmissile* took them 5years to develope they have held onto this final clone for over 15years very distinct diesel smell, skunky, super duper frosty, above average yielder that is a vigorous vegger and is easily maintained under any situations. takes anything u throw in her REZ and bag appeal is 10/10

Thanks for the history on SKUD it sounds so damn good and all the work that went into it
I 'm sure no doubt its def a keeper if its been going in that tight circle that long. Mmmm sound like old skool puffin to me.

thanks for fillin in the history sbp! and a vigorous vegger she is, even in my less than ideal conditions! gonna have to move my two mothers to a larger container soon, as im already topping off daily in my lil 1 quart starter with 2 in thereand the root mat isn't even thaaaat thick. I'm lst-ing and supercropping for now to expose more new growth sites so i'll have enough clones.

I think the 1k is gonna probably have a 4x4 custom E&F table with 4 'strip' sections (i can put shorter strains in the middle two strips and larger strains on the edges) and 4 individual 25 gallon rez's. I've never grown e&f, but the more i read the simpler it looks.

anybody wanna fill me in, will hydroton work fine with 8 floodings over 24 hrs?

by the way guys and gals, feel free to comment/criticise my plans for my 1k space. I'd really appreciate any feedback i can get.

with hydro, dont be the noob pharmer and overwater ur plants... this will lead to the roots not drying quick enough and that promotes many negative growing factors for the plants. i flood, 1st - right when lites are on, and then 2nd - 6 hrs later then 3rd time is the middle of the lites off *oxygenate the roots* but to each his own and every grow is different, these are jus suggestions and u should go by what you can read from the plants themselves

sbp, thats with hydroton? and do you grow in beds or in individual containers? i have no idea what im doing to be honest. scoped out my materials today. won't be as cheap as a plywood table, but ill be using four 22 gallon 18x24 rubbermaids for rez's and four 6 inch deep 19x26 sterlite containers for the trays, it'll just be a little simpler to tap the bulkhead straight through and reduce the possibility of leaks leading to flooding, which i can't have. priced it out to about $70 for the 4 rez's and 4 trays. then i just have to get hydroton, pumps, and decide on which, if any containers for the plants ill use. ill prolly do 6 plants per container if in individual containers in the tray or 6-8 plants per tray if in a bed. Ill be sticking with my GH nutes as they're cheap and i understand them enough to use them. i need to get some hydroguard, though, i was wondering..........In a flood and drain setup, does rez temp matter too much since the water isn't in contact with the plants too long?
also, i've been reading about how you need to start plants with a drip system or watering them by hand til they get roots. is this true?

those questions are up for anybody to answer. thanks for any help

o, i forgot.

i built a carbon filter with about 27 oz's of carbon in there tonight and we'll see how the panasonic whisper fan pulls through. also added my lasko desk fan (mini stanley basically) to my utility section to pull air through the cooltube. pics up soon.

My stdXnycd and menage a trois are takin off (just today the second set of leaves on all of them went from 1/8 inch to 1 inch long!! the root rot from the 80* rez when i was gone for a couple days healed up quite nicely and im back to nice white healthy roots!

most of my colombian's have popped and same for my HiDoll (they're in peat pellets, awaiting my next project:) )

the 2 skud moms are lovin the environment. THey're hungry with nutes though and i need to start uppin my nute blend quick. They're still hungry at about twice the normal rate i feed of 5 mL/gallon for micro, grow, bloom. I added the grow and am swerving away from the lucas formula as these girls really seem to want more!! im pretty sure they're absorbing what im throwing at them bc they're drinking up quick and my pH is at a nice 6.5ish. think i should drop it lower?

i think my first round of skud cuts is coming in a few days once i have my schedule for the next couple weeks dialed in a bit more. I'd like to have clones flowering my the end of october though for a nice new year's surprise!!

if u do a tray do a scrog over them because the plants will float and move around when you flood the trays, i had a very promising 4x4 tray (1st timer) and when the plants got big about 3 weeks into flowering they all started floating around the tray and my yield was lowered becuase of the stress from moving around.... if u got a tray, get individual square pots and put hydroton in. then do a screen on top, u dont have to train like it is a scrog, u can jus do a SOG and have the screen there for supportin the plants and with the screen in place, if they do float when its flooding, then the screens will hold still and keep the plants supported.

any SKUD MILF PIX?
