asparagus patch prep. some dry root , and some as potted perennial 2 year old babies . i had to skim off surface weeds, till the ground, weed barrier the edge , and i added 8 wheel barrows of manure. i willl add some stone perlite , and screened soil , wood ash , touch of dolomite tomorrow and turn it all over into a nice 6 m mound , and get planting .

the wind is 80 mph today , destroyed our cheap greenhouse, but we will fix it. bent at snapped at its rusty joints that we were supposed to re enforce lol . not to worry

potatoes are chitting nicely. sweet peppers are up , as are a few other species , and everything is gravy

Some kiwano(African horned cucumber).
I’ve never done them before and if honest, I’d forgot they were there and thought it was a late cucumber until I smelt it.

The smell from the exterior is overripe strawberries and melon with a mango cucumber thing in the background. Cut, it smells like a slightly fruity cucumber but I’d imagine the whole fruit will sweeten as it mature and ripens fully.
Very spiky and sharp to handle, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was from a cactus…
