Hey what's the deal with the netpots, those holes are so big? Is it a good idea to stack two to keep the pebbles in with more confidence?

How about timing the pump, what's a good schedule for a recirculating NFT type system? Or just run it constantly?

have you presoaked the pebbles to begin with ? 5.2 . you could run flood and drain, or nft if you have a tank?? i have not seen your rig up so i don't know

nft has to be run 247 for the oxygen in the water . once the roots are in the tank

i would interval water until you have a large root mass in the tray system and 24/7 as they get towards the tank

humidity will increase too , but growth will be rocket style

Nah the seeds haven't even popped up yet, trying to figure things out in advance. Good tip with the pre-soak didn't even think of that! Thanks

just go with cubes, drippers,or flood and drain recirc . you can the pebbles too for extra rootspace , and bigger plants but it is not needed . what are your ideas? the pebbles have to be pre soaked , and can be a pain in the arse

as simple and clean as possible . easy to drain

it be nice to have a nice stream or well water source, full reverse osmosis kit and drain to waste , but it is costly and pollutes , so recirc probably your best option as a small hobby grower

My idea was to have netpots filled with expanded clay pellets with a small rockwool cube in the middle. I thought this was like the norm.

for an airpot airstone bucket type , dwc etc . not for nft so much . it is old school . and yes you can set up that way .

too noisy. if you can deal with noise dwc is nice

nft is near silent . slight hum and slight sound of water. drippers silent, flood and drain near silent

the only time i used net pots and clay pebbles was were single bucket dwc set ups. and they work great. but with summer coming, you need to cool the res . good for winter , and they are noisy with the airstones
