Sounds like a good variety! There is a certain way to prune grapes to optimize yield of fruit. It has to do with counting the budsites and doing a little math to come up with the number to leave remaining on the vine. My professors told us about it in my fruit and vegetable production class.

Search through these Purdue University publications, lots of valuable info there. Will have to search for that pruning guide for small fruits.

Love dahlia. I have grown it before from seed and put it in the garden for a year. I didn't even realize it was a perennial at the time. It was somewhat small. I saw pictures of dahlia my dental hygenist showed me. They were just so amazing. I didn't realize what dahlia could do.

Love the big flowers on those. Well worth the effort.

Thats great you had experience helping that fellow. You guys need to find an enthusiastic young man to help run things and pass on the torch.

Was great when I got a chance to work at the nursery. Learned a lot. The owner was a bit of a grump too, but the sons were running most of it. Being a grower is tough but it has great rewards. Best to listen to the Lord and let him be the boss. Have to pay attention, he catches you when you aren't. We get those cheap lessons and we have to stop and give thanks.

My friend on ICMAG, Mossy, was a grower in spain who grew up growing tomatoes. He said the way we do things is make all the mistakes first, then you are trained and know what to do. Sometimes it pays off to stop and think things through.

No farms no food.
