I have to preach to myself, as I said, I'm a sinner. Have to keep your eyes fixed on the One. No looking back, God has granted us life and true freedom living for the joy and peace of God given by the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ.

Love your neighbor as yourself, Love God. Also love yourself because God made you! Don't forget that one!

I like the New King James, but it is a study Bible version with possible related verses and alternate meanings from different translations.

the sense i get from god is . forget all the books , the religions, and get busy trying to make the world a better place. but that is just my opinion.

Jesus had deep knowledge of the Holy Scripture, and utilized it as a way to teach people about who God is. Jesus used the authority of God's word by quoting scripture to rebuke Satan when he was tempted.

Genesis 15 NKJV​

God’s Covenant with Abram​

Satan Tempts Jesus​

Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry​

12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:


15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,

Four Fishermen Called as Disciples​

18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

Jesus Heals a Great Multitude​

Abraham Justified by Faith​

David Celebrates the Same Truth​

5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:


7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Abraham Justified Before Circumcision​

9 Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised.

The Promise Granted Through Faith​

13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, 15 because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.


16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be [d]sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Faith Triumphs in Trouble​

Defending the Gospel​

No Return to the Law​

Sounds bad, but maybe its just a way of putting his reputation on the line saying, this is "my" version, and that also gives people a sense of security knowing it was a good translation. Translating was very costly and labor intensive.

The Scribes and Scripture book was just talking about how fortunate we are to have access the the Holy Scriptures. Throughout much of history, this has not been the case. People have longed for God's word that has been passed down.

I know what you mean though, and its absolutely true. My pastors have highlighted and spoken about this.

One can not be justified by going to God's word to read, by any work. The thing that pleases God is when he gives the gift of a Spiritual connection, and can only be obtained by humbly approaching Him through faith.

However faith without works is dead.

James 2 NKJV​

Faith Without Works Is Dead​

I took some of the best tops home to sample at harvest to make sure they dry well. Need to go through them and smoke test to determine what they are so I can save the seed. Oops... Need to learn to keep things separate. It can be difficult, but it is worth the effort.

Thankfully they have scratch and sniff labels!
