well, I have a new one with a tail in the paper, and one that had a tip of the stem coming up from soil is clearly dead... another looks like its trying to break surface, but cant tell...
I put em in about an inch of dirt in the bottoms of the solos cause I fill em in as they grow and stretch.... keep the cotyledon close to soil surface till the cup is full... not much insulation, but I hope a few in that dirt were just protected enough...

I'm hitting up Jihad, Afgooey, and Nocturnal #6 with the KK.
Will probably be the last time breeding Jihad and Afgooey, neither cut has any retail value in todays market.

I've really got my hopes up that these beans pull through...
The more I think of it, the fewer people I can think of actually doing anything with the purps in recent times... I got some ideas that I think could really produce some great plants. I do have some time as I've recently starting flowering and these would be for next run.
After a while, it get's boring growing what everyone else is growing.
Just like girl scout cookies ended up going coast to coast in a year after its creation, so has Gorilla glue.
Every breeder has a Kush, an OG, a GSC, and a GG4, then throw in a high CBD strain.
And even though guilty of using these lines, I stay away from riding on top of their names, as they truly belong to the original breeders, now lost to the masses.
The Purps line has flaws that most won't tolerate.
Many fluffy phenos, some herm issues, low yields and hard to trim(leafy).
No wonder it was forgotten!
But! When digging deeply into The Purps line, you can find that she was IBL'd too much before stabilizing.
I learned from the Halo IBL project, that traits you prize in a mother plant actually start to fade into a generic average of the original F-1 cross, not the prize traits you sought.
The genetic lineage is still there like ancient text of old, but needs to be deciphered and understood.
The Mendo lines themselves are all going to the wayside, which gives the few of us that are still working them a clear road to travel.
We are not really the Parade type folks, and prefer a much more quiet journey, unobstructed.

IBL and Filial breedings are quite different.
IBL is taking a prize cut then breeding back to male prodigy.
1st to son BX1, then grandson BX2, great grandson BX3, great great grandson BX4.
The theory is to keep breeding back to the prize cut in hopes it will capture those prize traits.
I found out first hand, this doesn't work.
Filial breedings, which in evolutionary terms created and preserved every single landrace to exist, can be done an infinite amount of times.
Filial means child, or child of.
So if a cross is made, you have an F-1 or 1st Filial from P-1 x P-2(P =parent or paternal)
Now take the F-1's and select new parents from them with the specific traits you seek, breed them and create F-2's, then repeat as many times you need to come out with females that represent what you bred for on a consistent basis.
If you do your homework as DJ Short's does, an F-6 is as far as you need to go IMO.
No need to stabilize more than that.

Anybody in here have experience with Rez Chemdog x Sour Diesel?
I got a couple packs for freebies so am planning on germing as soon as the weather starts to warm up. Im thinking mid Feb to mid March to start. Maybe as late as April.
Wondering about PM & mold resistance & approximate finish times OD @ N38.
Plan is filial gen as well as crosses to my existing cuts, ECSD x C99, (BB Sat(Af/HI), Blue Diesel & the newly acquired GG#4.
ALSO:
I'll be popping more seed than CDSD but i havent decided on what, as of yet. As im exploring some Chem crosses I've got to pop some of my Sour Apple (Original Diesel x C99) x Chemdog IBL & (BB Sat(Af/HI)) x ChemIBL. I need to see if the male was at least a good one. Hoping for good stability against intersex traits first & foremost followed by some Chem, fuel, rotting fruit, cheesy feet type aromas w excellent potency. If he proves good I have a tad more pollen to hit an ECSDxC99 & maybe GG#4.

I got a bunch of stuff, that I've made. What I'm looking at are my Hash Plant crosses, which are from several different HP females. There where four HP females, and crossed with a (or several) male Double Dutch X Blue Moonshine and a Double Dutch male. One of the crosses I'm not sure of who the exact father's line was, but from my notes it was the one I picked over the others.
Any idea of the differences from ECSD?
@ganoderma, both of those sound fun but I'd lean towards the DD/BM males. I loves me some Blue Moonshine.
