I have some family members that opened a video store in the late 80's. they eventually had to close shop like all the rest because of Blockbuster video. Well I just found out they're(uncle and two cousins) going to a cannabis business convention next month in Vegas.lol

I'm going because my dad rents space to a dispensary in Bakersfield and the city is giving the tenants problems so he asked me to go sit through a seminar or two.

I think it'll be a waist of time buttfuck it!lol

Now, cannabis has been my whole life. I retired off of it. I'm still as "patched in" as anyone I think, with enough capital and know how to actually do something but... I JUST DONT SEE IT.

I think DRM make a lot of sense.

I wish I did "see it" as it's something I'm sure many of us here have dreamed about for a long time.

They've never had anything to do with it. ZERO! I think I sold one of them a sack 20 years ago but that's literally it!lol

I believe they're gonna get their ass handed to them. I'm sure they have no idea that their ignorance can be smelled from a mile away.

My mother asked me to speak to them but I don't know how to do it without coming off like I'm trying to hold them back so I had to tell my mom I couldn't.

She's extremely religious so I told her that if they weren't meant to be fleeced, God wouldn't have made them sheep!haha

Are you suggesting that being from here and knowing someone will make it okay to buy cuts from a dispensary? And that if you don't know someone your experience will differ?

Weren't you asking just a short time ago about where to find cuts down here? Judging by your screen name I suppose you would want something like WSD, which only a few people have and is certainly not in a dispensory. There is a lot of very good weed down here, maybe you just have yet to find it.

Yeah that was me.i asked because through my experience the clubs carry duds,sub par genetics, or bugs and pm.not just my experiences but others aswell....i have heard swpg is legit but after my experiences im all set.i rather crack beans and find special clone onlys that way.

Duds and less than elite genetics come from seeds as do all of our strains, you will not avoid those issues with seeds.

As for PM and pests, buying a cut that is infested with those is preventable and at worst a minor issue to deal with if the cuts are in your hands already. Always quarantine new plants and treat them as if they have the plague, aids, cooties, crabs, syphilis, hepatitis, dengue fever, and always remember they know what you hide in your closet. If you look at new plants like that you should be fine.

Cracking seeds is cool, I do it, and I think most folk here do too.

No worries, just remember a blanket statement about all of anything is rarely true. I won't go into certain pet shops without a hazmat suit, but I wouldn't say I need the suit for most or all pet shops.

I agree with u 100% i cant say every or all.still the clubs here are hard to get genetics from.i rarely have experienced duds from seeds.subpar genetics of course but better chances running gear from reputable breeder than buying mystery clones or weak pheno types.i like my chances with the beans.

I tend to lean this direction as well - I realize that this isn't exactly a seed thread. To be fair, I have received many clones that were every bit what they were supposed to be. On the other hand, any plant handed to you is a disease / pest vector and should be treated as such - and that doesn't get into this whole dudding phenomenon, which if you're asking me is a product of environmental conditions more than genetics.

Now that I've bagged on clones, here's a spectacular one. Kaya from Growtech is now just shy of 11 weeks and nearly finished, still throwing hairs here and there. A 9 week lower bud devastated the ex-wife for about 4.5 hours. I'm smoking like once a week these days, there's a serious single bowl day wrecker concern with this one when it finishes:

MedTree Seeds Orange Antoinette F2s are pretty and I shouldn't have topped them. I was worried about the stretching and I was wrong lol. Since then, they have become quite dense and haven't put on any vertical growth, just nugs and frost galore. We're now at 4 weeks with this very orange-OG smelling line:

My ZamE MaurE cross (Zamaldelica x Ethiopian) x (Mauritius x Ethiopian) is at 8 weeks and stacking nicely:

PS - I swear to god, I am going to pop the SSH x Mauritius next! I am just waiting for the Kaya clone to finish.

A couple plants just refused to stop stretching (lesson learned, pure sats go into flower at 8 inches max!) so they ended up outside.

Here's Honduras x Orange AlienADE at 8 weeks. There are two plants in this 3.5 gallon SIP, both look quite similar. One is slightly taller, one slightly squatter. One has more fermented lemons (Honduras) and the other is more oranges (Orange AlienADE):

The real star is Ace's Panama x Honduras. The smell is lemony, spicy, pink grapefruits and a whole bunch else that I have trouble describing without using words like "warm pink" and "blueish spice". Whatever it is, I am a fan (and more a fan of the Panamanian leaning pheno's smell than the Hondurans). Panamanian first, Honduran second, both are at 8 weeks in a 3.5 gallon SIP:

What's the story on Kaya? I know I've heard it discussed in the thread at one point before. You can't tell from the close ups, but the one distant shot you can see how well she stacks up. Nice long fat, dense cola. I trust GT and Sub know what a great plant is!

Did someone say pheno hunt? I lucked into some pollen from a friend, family tree has some big names. Hit 16 of my favorite strains and even got a single tiny seed from a preflower on my Wet Dream mother, which did germinate and is growing strong...bonus! OGKB was in there too but only got 2 viable seeds from the whole plant, so I'm saying a rare prayer for it to be a male. At least they popped and are growing good! Hopefully some good phenos show up, I'm already itching to name them.

I know it's an extremely stupid pet peeve. But I really wish that someone would create a cross with OGKB or Mendo Breath in it and not put breath into the progeny's name.

I agree, I don't really like it either, so I'll keep it to a minimum. I like 'dough' better than 'breath' for the cookies, and it lends itself smoothly to some crosses.
