So the newest ACDC Cookies pheno I put pictures up of recently came back from the lab as a medicinal freak. (or it was a botched test) She tested at 7.55% CBD & .05%THC(151:1) and an unknown amount of CBG & CBC since I only paid for the standard test which I'm now regretting. So I'm now taking it to a second lab for a more comprehensive test because there's without a doubt another cannabinoid in considerable amounts in her as this particular pheno has densest trichome coverage of the ACDC Cookies I've grown and they all have had total active cannabinoid percentages in the mid to high 20s and there's no way this plant only has 8%TAC. If so it would be my first type IV.

Wait...what's a type 4? CBG & CBC dominant cannabinoids or something?

The extremely oversimplified answer is yes (usually CBGv). There's also a type V which deals with CBGm

edit, looks like I need to re-find the link besides the one on my computer.

re: cannabis chemotypes
i'd like to add this paper wich is far more accurate and updated.

10681_2015_1585_Fig1_HTML.gif

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10681-015-1585-y

basically chemotype IV plants are those that miss the genes responsible for conversion of CBG to CBD or THC, so the most accumulated cannabinoid is just CBG or CBGV with low levels of other cannabinoids:

"Four additional alleles encoding reduced or non-functional variants of THCAS (BT0) and CBDAS (BDW; BD01; BD02) have been observed within chemotype IV (Onofri et al. 2015) (Fig. 1). Individuals homozygote for these alleles have a reduced capacity to form THCA/CBDA, resulting in the accumulation of CBGA."

based on your cannabinoid analysis i'd say your plant belongs to type III:

"Selecting for chemotype III BCBDAS genotypes may prove especially beneficial for development of uniform plant lines for hemp fibre, seed, and pharmacological production, given the strong association between chemotype III and THC content <0.2 % DW (Pacifico et al. 2008; 2006), and growing interest in CBD(V)A and CBD(V) derivatives as pharmacological entities (De Petrocellis et al. 2011; Gallily et al. 2015; Hill et al. 2013; Iseger and Bossong 2015). "

type V is for plants without any cannabinoids at appreciable levels:

"Additional chemotype V (total cannabinoid content <0.02 %) also occur at low levels within a subgroup of the C. sativa gene pool (Pacifico et al. 2006)."

im by far no expert so if anyone has a better understanding please correct me if i'm wrong.

EC congrats on your results, if the analysis proves right that plant is of immense medicinal value because far more rare than chemotype II plant and if extracted will lead to an almost thc-free concentrate, useful for those who cant manage THC effects and just needs CBD.
At least here in europe those tinctures are most often made from type II plants and always contain unpredictable levels of thc even tho their sold as pure CBD medicine while just a "byproduct" of textile/seed cannabis...

Even if the CBG amount ends up higher than the CBD? There is no doubt in my mind that there is a considerable amount of another cannabinoid in the mix. Either that and/or it was a bad test. (I'm taking it to another lab tomorrow)

super curious on your second test, she may be type IV indeed if a lot of cbg is found.

all the best!!

Here's a new shot of the AD-E x AOC male Terpene grew out getting ready to make some CBD crosses. The female (with double serrated leaves) I was given got flipped 10 days ago and I will post a picture of her tonight once the lights come back on. Amazing work GT!

Wow, great coloration. That pic needs to be submitted into a competition somewhere. I'm certain the offspring will. Nice work everyone involved.

EC that AOCxADE male is looking spectacular! :tiphat:

My AOCxADE female at 5.5 weeks:

The Zamaldelica x Ethiopians are roughly 6 feet tall at 3 weeks. I've finally purchased yo-yos for the 240w Blackstar so I can better manage untopped plants. Doom, I honestly don't know how long they'll run. They should be somewhere between 14-16 weeks based on the parentage, under 11/13 probably closer to the 14 week side of things.

Indica Dom leaves = primordial
5 gallon bucket with numerous plants = ADUBB

Looks like I'm going to be shutting the grow down for a while to handle some life shit. This might be my last run for a while sadly.

And now that I've looked at them all post ipload... they really need nitrogen.

Could be, but N deficiency tends to start on the lower fan leaves. Since your fade is starting at the top (and they are showing the classic intraveinal chlorosis) I'd start with Magnesium. Could be remedied just be lowering your pH since Mag locks out at a relatively low level, or I would add Calmag if you have it in addition to checking pH.
