S2D's Build and Grow it BIG!

Hehehaha! It's all about veg time and training. Anyone can do that with any strain. A few BIG bitches are easier to deal with than a whole slew of little ones. Wait till you see what happens with 6 or 8. Veg time will go down, but yield will go up now that I have the space to deal with them!

Hot damn...all the wire's in. Ceiling insulated!! We're moving along now.

hardhat22 Thanks for poppin' in man! Grab some :lurk: and kick back a while. I don't mind people thinking I'm crazy...keeps em guessin! :headbange

What's next? :chin:

1. Cover ceiling. Cut out for ceiling boxes and new wall.

2. Sheetrock and insulate new wall. Tape, mud, sand, ahh...I'm a painter not a drywall guy.

3. Finish sheetrock that is missing from the rest of the room...they left 6" around the top everywhere.

4. Remove that ugly door pictured below. Insulate, sheetrock, more frickin sanding...ahh. :badday:

5. Texture ceiling, paint walls...

6. Assemble recirculating mediumless monster!!!!!!!!!

So within a few days we'll have something that resembles a room again. I have to insulate the backside of the wall that has the laundry room on it.

Here's a few pics:

Ceiling insulated:

Ugly door gone asap:

New/used door casing perfect fit!

If I get boring don't mind me...I'm just going to post for months on end and document this whole thing.

This is a 10x11 room in my new place that sits on the corner of the house off our dining room with the laundry room on it's other wall. I am putting a wall and door up making just a little cut through to the dining area/laundry so that I can use this room undisturbed. Past the laundry is my garage, so I am through this area a lot. The room itself was slightly finished, but still needed a good bit of stuff. Moving a few switches, adding all new (4) circuits for my grow, and doing the last bit of finishing on the room.

Never grown in anything bigger than a 3x5 closet...I'm stoked to get this rockin! :canabis:

Hey man, room is looking good. The Tangerine Haze will be going to a bucket soon, the Dabney Blueberry won't be too far behind it,and the lil Sour Diesel seedlings are looking good too.Looks like they are affie dominant. The Thaze doesn't like the nutes too much,so I will go about half strength with the technaflora until she get's big.

Gonna try to keep her below 6 feet this time.... :spank:

It always rains on my parade...This time literally! Murphy's law was written solely for me. It seems we have a leak in the flat roof that is over the laundry area. However, water is tricky shit, and is running all the way back to the grow area through the new hallway area. So, that's gonna get some fixing, and is what's causing our current delay. When I get frustrated I don't post right away, lol! I think that's a good thing.

In other news (sound like a reporter now) I have the carbon scrubber fully assembled and ready to rock. I bought another water pump that is 1400gph, which is about 400gph over rated for the chiller. I am probably going to exchange it for a 633gph eco plus pump to match the chiller. I could possibly use it to run the chiller and the irrigation and thus lower the output enough to keep everything in line. Unlike last time, this would keep the DWC recirculating continuously, which could actually be beneficial.

-VT- Hey bro! No worries man...I knew you'd pop in soon enough. As always, I'm honored to have you along for the ride!

StonedGrunt55 You're pretty dang smart, lol! When the rain came and pissed on me, I took a few days off construction. Things resume tomorrow as planned after a little help on the leak.

DimeBag65 I have to say you are right as well. I have MANY ideas going through my head for this room, but I have a basic plan working already. I just really need to get the room itself done so I can work out those ideas for constructing my mediumless monster!! Muahahaha (evil laugh) :muahaha: If all goes well, I might have a pretty surprising beast to unveil!

Now where's a mad scientist smiley?

Hey, almost forgot to reply to a few of you, doh! :bashhead:

MushuHappiness Wow, thanks for taking the time to look at all my grows. I intend to put my best foot forward on this one, so please do stick around. Things might be a little slow at first, but once we get going it's gonna rock! :headbange

NorthernKronic I'm trying to make it happen as quick as possible now man!

hazy There is always a seat for you here bro! :friends:

outame2 I see you are rockin' the technaflora scene over there!! I think I'll end up continuing to run one strain at a time due to recirculating, but I'm cool with that. I can't wait to see how that Dabney does in comparison to the others you're running.

Oh, here's a pic of the finished scrubber:

It's packed to the gills with carbon, and I have a little more input about making these suckers. First, the 8" diameter scrubber with a 6" core takes over half of a 5 gallon bucket of carbon to fully stuff. Second, I found that instead of using two layers of pantyhose (you need THE BIGGEST size) for the outer core, it was MUCH easier to use the panty part which is already a double layer and will stretch nicely to the bottom of the scrubber. Pantyhose legs are NOT large enough for the 8" size without MAJOR difficulty, and that being the BIGGEST fat lady size that you can buy according to the mrs.

I also found my clamps were four 6" clamps. I had no 8" and apparently lowes and HD didn't either even though I grabbed these from a box labeled 8" clamps. When I went back there were NONE. So, aluminum tape holds the outer screen and pantyhose in place, and is working quite nice actually.

Hey Stoned2Death,leaky roofs suck..I had pretty much the same set up as you in the old house, and it leaked. It was in the laundry room and I just put a bucket in there when it rained.

The Dabney croaked,it had a deformed stem that was really thin, and it looks like it got some black rot at the base and keeled over. But I have 4 Sour Diesel x G-13 plants going in the closet and grow room.My buddy sent me some seeds,Mr.Nice,Williams Wonder,my Ice Princess Blueberry cross,Train Wreck,Dabney Blueberry,Original Diesel,Sour Diesel IBL...all crossed with Sour Diesel.Should be plenty of beanies to keep me busy.

There is a reason I like the Technaflora...lookie the growth in one week, under 2 150's.Already on veg 2,original formula, they don't need the sugar daddy or the magical this early.Carbon scrubber looks great,I'm keeping the buckets nice and cool with blue ice packs under the buckets with the A/C,68 degrees.

I think I'll hang the 400 tomorrow, and bump up the kid's from half strength and see what happens. If any of those crosses sound good, holler at me... :rasta:

outame2 You're doing an awesome job over there! Not that it isn't super easy with the technaflora, hehe. I'll be in touch real soon! :headbange

Bignugget Great to see ya. I'll make sure to get by your thread soon...I am very slow roaming on the boards. I just poke about here and there, so I don't catch all the great shows I should. I'm working hard on the construction part, but this is a whole remodel, so it's takin a while.

StonedGrunt55 I think I got the leak under control. Maybe not fixed, but not dumpin' in the grow area! Sweet!

TML16 Thanks man! I'm pluggin' away at it! :joint:

hazy Ebay is the place for carbon as far as I know. 27lb 5 gallon bucket for like $30 plus shipping. Not a bad deal considering how long it should last. :smoke:

So. The rock is hung, door is in, ceiling is back up and EVERYTHING is insulated except the backside of that laundry room wall. Gotta move some stuff about to do the laundry area.

Now it's onto finishing off the walls/ceiling, and getting that ugly door outta there. Once that's done, I'm finally on to building the system. Budget is HURTING right now though and there's a few extra things I need. Might take me a minute to get finalized because of budget alone. Let's hope not.

So, here's a pic of the ceiling in place.

Here's a shot of the new wall and door looking out from the dining room. Kitty wants HIS plants back like yesterday, that's why the freaky eyes.

Here is looking toward the ugly door, entrance is on your right.

And again.

Now looking back in the opposite direction. New wall to the left.

And finally, looking from the far corner toward the door and new wall. Here you can see an inset area in the wall to the left. Perfect for shelves to hold my goodies!

I hope that gives an idea of the space we're working with here. I'm trying to make this as informative as possible. With the shape of the room, there is a possibility of easily splitting it and doing a veg area as well, but that won't come right away. Sorry for the mess, we're working on it! "Hold this nail while I hit your head!" :bashhead: Hehe!

***Edited: Forgot kitty's pic and ceiling pic.
