kiddie pools are bulking up proper- had to raise the lights over them a lil bit, but i belive they are finished stretching now (week 5 ish iirc)
seeds are swelling and hopefully will begin darkening, been about 30 days since pollination started

^^ that line down the middle is more evident as bloom goes on....

100% germ rate on the most recent seed pop:

^ actually got 2 seedlings from one bean on one of the "double dank" (sour dubb x dank zappa) does that count as.... like.... 105% germ rate?

2 seedlings on one seeds, twins that would be a sick choice for the yogurt cup challenge

i considered throwing some beans into a yogi cup, but the strains are too vital to let ride out like that, limited seed stock on many of these most recent beans.
also
i have a bunch of clones about to root any day now... def some will go in to yogi cups
i'm way behind on that lil project... meant to get going weeks ago

what do you feed the yogurt cups?
certainly not just a good soil to make it through, right?

no - def organic soil in that tiny container ain't gonna do it
in the past i've used whatever chem nutes i have laying around, dyna-gro or maxibloom iirc
might try using some of my fermented plant extracts this time around i think they are mostly plant available forms...

on another note;
i've been tinkering with distillation with a pal
making mash (just sugar water and yeast) and making ethanol to make black cannabis oil to fraction it out and make "the clear" and CBD distillates and terpenes....

I'll just leave these mash recipes right here:

BLACK BEARDS RUM
Two pounds of brown sugar per one gallon of water and one cup of honey for every ten gallon batch. Starting hydrometer reading of about 90. Do not exceed 100. Add 1 to 3 ozs of yeast per 10 gallons of mash.
Heat one fourth of your water to 120 or 130 degrees, only hot enough to melt the sugar, then stir in your sugar and then the honey last. Pour it into your fermenter and finish filling with cool water to cool it down to 80 degrees. Take a hydrometer reading and adjust as needed. The add your yeast. 6 to 14 days to ferment.

STONEWALL JACKSONS SOUTHERN WHISKEY
One quart of corn syrup per 1 1/2 gallons of water and one cup of honey for every ten gallon batch. Starting hydrometer reading of about 60 or 65. Do not exceed 70. Add 1 to 3 oz's of yeast per 10 gallons of mash.

JD's BLACK LABEL
80% corn, 12% rye, 8% malt (a high enzyme 6-row variety will be needed). Steep your ingredients in 140 to 150 degree water for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Wait until it has cooled to 68 degrees before adding your yeast. After fermentation, it is distilled once in a pot still with a thumper, then filtered through a 10 foot layer of maple charcoal (this takes about 4 days). It then is placed in new, charred American oak barrels where it ages for 5 years, 6 months before it is bottled. But instead of aging in oak barrels, you can fish out a piece of half burned white oak from the fire place, crush it up and place this in the container with your product. Shake it up once a day for about 3 months and then filter it through a coffee filter for a beautiful amber color. Cut it back to 80 or 90 proof for a smooth taste.
The premium brand called Gentlemen J is aged in the same way, with the same grain bill, but it is filtered through maple charcoal again after aging.
Sweetened with a dash of REAL maple syrup (the kind that has a slight smokey flavor)- this will taste JUST like the store bought spirit- but will be a LOT smoother. The spirit should be aged at less than 65%abv, to prevent vanillins from clouding up the smokey sweetness from the maple syrup.

SWEET FEED MOONSHINE
5 gallon bucket of sweet feed (Sweet feed has several different grains and molasses making it a great tasting whiskey.) one package of yeast (using distillers yeast will increase quality and quantity) 5 pounds sugar, 1 pound water Put enough feed to cover bottom of 5 gallon bucket a good 4 inches deep Add 5 pounds of sugar. Fill 1/2 full with boiling water. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Let it set for 90 minutes and then finish filling with cool water. Add the yeast after it has cooled to the recommended temperature on the yeast label. Cover with lid--our lid has a little cap that screws on, leave it loose to breathe. 4-5 days later it's ready to run!
I don't recommend this for pot stills unless you filter it by pouring it through a pillow case into a 5 gallon bucket after it has finished fermenting. Otherwise the meal will settle and burn on the bottom of your still.

That's titty! What's the black box on the left for that looks like an old pic?

that's a chiller/heater... range is something like -18 C to 50 C - controls temp of the head unit and distilling chamber (not shown). has an intake line and return line, so is constantly recirculating and keeping the temp uniform
as it's shown now the head unit (looks green like anti-freeze) is too short to properly distill and make ethanol, as is you get some drips comingout for a few minutes, then a bunch of vapors start coming out and we are basically vaping off ethanol and wasting the product at that point; the longer distilling column solves this problem

thanks for the recipes C4!
i've been considering doing some special booze...
also been wanting to learn about separating terpenes from plant matters other than cannabis...

Have you run it with dewaxed canna yet? What are you doing with the cold finger?

Really cool set up!

haven't done a ganja run on it yet, myself.... starting at the beginning because the scale is so large, hemp farm sized
the cold finger collects ethanol that is coming off in the form of vapors in the process - apparently it helps to have a little solvent left in solution so the cold finger catches it. it's the last stage before vac pump

what in the hell is all this? guess i got some more reading to do
it's a fractional distillation setup, but can be used to just do distillation also like brewing booze - we are making ethanol (moonshine) to use as solvent on cannabis (hemp in bulk) - once the ethanol extract is made (black cannabis oil) it is dewaxed and fractioned - that's the game plan

it takes a solvent made extract and separates it into it's parts (THC, terpenes, plant waxes, CBD)

already sent some beans for server fund donations a while back, just waiting on confirmation that they arrived and will be listed before i send more

Oh and here I thought it was a multi-bong set-up or something like that
