I bumped the nutez slightly te other day and we change rez every Monday... I bumped them up slightly from the last fill... The ppm is now at 600... Will that hurt them?? Please answer ASAP so I can add fresh water if necessary...
Almost got everything together for both units, just wondering what size of pump people are running in their units?
I could only find 6" round PVC pipe for rails, no fence posts up here...
I would love to have the inline mag drive pumps to keep res temps down but cant really afford it first round. How much will the submersible pumps heat up a 30-40 gal res?
Ganja - Check out ebay for mag drive pumps. No more expensive than the submersible types, and definitely better choice for your application. Heat sources in an aero/hydro res is a big no no.
Ganja, I use a Rio 20hf pump in my 6" tube system, total of 30 spray heads in five tubes. Pump runs very strong and not a hiccup in 3 years. I do use a 1 on 4 off cycle timer but AK runs his constantly with no apparent problems with res temps.
The cheapest I have found these pumps with free shipping is here:
Also, on my feed system I installed a cleanable mesh filter that I got from the hardware store in the well pump section. great for stopping clogs in the spray system.
Ganga, I dont use mine inline just in the res, no real noise just hear sprayers very faint in room.
I don't use airstones but I do have a small recirc pump in res. My drain drops into the res and probably helps with oxygen in res but with the sprayers I don't think you really need airstones???
With trying to pack two of these units in an 8x8 tent im worried about res temps, and height since tent is only 6.5' high, and hard to find rubbermaids here that are 35+ gal and under 20" high.
With the res, drain and rail height, plus the space the hoods take up, i only have 3' for plants to grow before hitting the light. Tempted to use no tent but worried about smell.
Thought inline pump would keep the temps down, not sure if ill be running pumps 24/7 or on/off like you...
What size drain holes you have OG? sorry if i missed them but any pics?
The spray lines produce so much DO that airstones aren't needed.

I've got several updates to complete today. Here's one that has me excited and mellowed out at the same time:
Sun Maiden Phenotype 4

One thing I want to remind everyone is that Connoisseur Genetics is the official sponsor of this thread. Every participant that makes it all the way to the end will be gifted a pack of some of their most interesting seeds.
Now a pack of seeds isn't all that much compared to the work done and knowledge gained to complete the full grow. It's just a very nice carrot that the CSG folks are providing for your sharing in this group.
In this thread I'm growing their Gran Doggy Purps. It's one of my most favorite strains ever. If you are interested in looking at more of their strains in action, I'm growing out three more of their strains plus an old classic in the Feminized Four Strain Grow in my sig.
Here's where I'm at now:
My seed run procedure for these is a little different - they will be hitting the bloom room pretty quick compared to most of my seed run threads.
Just wanted to give CSG a shout out. I thought it was a pretty cool gesture for them to cheer on our rookies!

We are still looking for folks who are interested in participating in the grow together. We have several peeps still getting their equipment and/or clones together to start. I plan to support this thread for quite a while - you still have time to bush out that momma plant and join in the fun!

I'm off to work. I'll be back later with a day 21 update.
Thanks everyone for making this thread informative and enjoyable.
Ganga, no chiller and highest res temp 75.
Really like the DM zone we are using for this run.
Look somewhere like Tractor Supply for a large animal bin. I got mine there 40 gal.
My drain tubes are my bain. They are only 3/4 inch thru hull fittings I bought online at a marina supply, so have to keep close eye for clogging. GL
My end of stretch window is coming in the next few days. Looks like the plants should end up the perfect height for even bud production.
The plants are starting to smell sweetly - no bottom end funk yet. I can't wait for the Grandma's Purse Candy aroma to tickle my nose. Trichome formation for day 21 is excellent.
I'm happy with the structure and did not prune any further on day 17. We have a nice even and full canopy. Another 21 days and this grow will be rockin!
I'm going to wait until around day 30 to add the second level to the trellis - I want all the stretch to be done so all the buds can be strapped up into the light.
As always, your comments and questions are welcome.
AK, those GDP plants sure look nice. Very open structure. My BCN diesel internodes are so close I am forced to clip some of the sun leaves for light penetration.
The Sun Maiden looks great following that thread also.
I usually buy femmed seeds. It makes it a lot easier and faster to check out a strain. I have never had problems with hermies (maybe just lucky).
The DM nutes and additives are rocking. Thanks for the heads up on them. Very stable, hope it pushes the yield, Thanks OG.
OH NOOOOO!!! I just went downstairs for a daily checkup and only one plant is weeping over and dying!!! Looks like it isn't getting water but its the bottom most plant and roots r hanging in the water as it drains out the bottom... AND the closest sprayer IS working... Any idea what the problem could be??
-All the other plants are beautiful!!
-5.85pH
-530ppm
-water temp 74'
- air temp 75'
@AK
I may have just over looked it but how and when do I add back nutez between rez changes? Also, I have always been told it is bad to add nutez between rez changes because the plant could be drinking more water than its taking in nutez... However, since my ppm has gone from 600 to 530 after adding water should I add now?
