Great work Mr. Fontazy! A month is a milestone, and now that you have one under your belt, you wouldn't want to have to reset the odometer, and start back at zero, would ya? Something new to be afraid about regarding drinking booze.

The money I am not spending now, and I bought cheap Busch lite it by the cases, is huge. Between almost case at home, and $30-$40 at the bar, each day, were easily looking at over $1000/mo. When I do go to the bar now, I spend maybe $3 on $1 waters, plus tip. A guy can pay for a nice new PU with insurance for that kind of money.

And I did. And I bet it doesn't accumulate dents like the last ones did.

Those green things on the left are partly because this site helped me a lot through the first difficult weeks.

Congrats on your month! If you can stop drinking for 30 days, you can do anything- I believe.
Enjoy that sweet freedom! Hope you get to do something nice for yourself to mark the anniversary.

My mother drank a handle of vodka daily and functioned somehow albeit in a mildly retarded state because she drank those potatoes like water.
When she started sobering up she started taking me to A.A meetings with her. Two of my highschool teachers were in those meetings.....talk aboutakward? Been to the bills place in southern vt.

Definitely noticed the money saving,, going to save for a nice holiday,, quite fancy the Maldives :)

Congrats man!
I definitely noticed a change in money saving too. Id get either 2 half pints of hennessy or 2 or 3 expensive designer ipa beers or 2 bottles of some dark red wine. Usually hennessy tho. I’d average about 15-20 bucks a day on alcohol, thats 450-600 a month. Then I was buyin a pack uh smokes every day, Id smoke 3/4 a pack and my wife smoke 1/4 pack a day. So thats another 300 a month. So a total of 750-900 a month spending on my addictions that I cut out. I been puttin the extra funds toward investing in my grows, jus got some bubble bags, been eatin healthier too which costs a lil more.

You guys save up $540 of free booze money, call Creme City Vapes, and order a new Hybrid Volcano. Free money, and that thing will make your lungs feel great if you have access to organic material. I believe hemp would work too.

Quitting drinking really free'd up a bunch of dope fund availability. And, I can drive around in the evenings if I want, and not worry about getting arrested for DUI, which would lead to much worse.

As much as I thought I liked beer, forgetting about it has been a huge improvement. Now I have to beat the carbions. They have me eating peanut butter / crackers like candy. Arghhhh!

Agreed big time- the amends process is such a great gift of getting sober. Life after making those initial amends is fresh, new, and full of promise.

I'm so happy for everyone that is staying sober! Life is not just better without booze, it is entirely, and completely different in a great, great, healthy way.

Hang in there Hazy! That is 45 days you would have had to reset back to zero. Good job! :D

Water is just fine with me. I think some people at the bar are jealous, but I only go during the day when it is quiet. Get my people fix that way.

Went 5 weeks and fucked around and had some shots after a fucked up day of argueing wit my girl and some crazyness at the house. I started to beat my self up but said fuck it time to go another month, and hopefully keep it up this time. Im listening to the audible book of 50 cent/ curtis jackson, hustle harder hustle smarter. Its been some real motivation, 50 said he dont drink or smoke weed, he says when he does promotions for his drink or goes to the clubs, he gets a bottle and pours everyone a glass, the. Puts ginger ale in the empty bottle and takes an occasional swig. He sees drinking as a crutch and doesnt want to have anything in thw way of his success. It was pretty powerful listening. So many people fake rich to live the lifestyle meanwhile the ones really gettin rich fakin the lifestyle. Lol. I recommend that book, audio or otherwise.

Bounce back!!! I bet those shots didn't fix a damn thing, and cost you time.

Guys in the bar are asking what the little box of baking soda is for, then they see me put some in the water bottle. I tell them it is crystal THC, in the baking soda box.

I add baking soda to the water I drink for a couple of reasons. The main one is taste, to me water tastes like plastic from how it is transported, and the chemicals they put in it here in the USofA. Adding a little baking soda just covers up that taste for me. The reason I started was because I was having reflux issues. These were caused by various lifestyle choices, but also a hyatal hernia that had 1/2 of my stomach above the diaphram and up where the lungs are supposed to be. That has been repaired.

The processed foods we eat are killing us slowly. Acidity is the result, and people are having to take drugs to deal with that acidity. I used to have to take prescription Prilosec, then Nexium. If I didn't I would get reflux, and at night it would get in my lungs.

After adding the baking soda to my water for the last decade or so, I have no acidity issues. I have quit taking their drugs completely. One nice side effect is my teeth have stopped rotting, cause I have not had a cavity in the same time as I have been doing this.

I swear by the stuff. It doesn't seem to be having any negative effects, per my last bloodwork exam. All systems nominal, and I am 65 and have abused alcohol, smoked shitty dope, been around some really nasty chems with disregard for PPE - in most of my past.

I think a little slipup can be a big positive if it motivates you to not let the BS in your mind take you off track again. I had to get pretty pissed off at myself before I could finally quit. In the end I was pissed off at myself for putting myself in the position of being a drunk, injuring myself, acting a fool, and basically ruining and wasting what is left of my only life.

This isn't easy. I am so glad I have weaned myself of the beer. I love beer, but my life is a lot better, and more productive, without it. My health is improving, especially sleep, which may be the key to being healthy and happy. A little monitor ring I wear at night confirms this.

But man, the dope I'm going through now, especially just vaping off the terps and making butter with the ABV. I think the compromise my mind has made with the carbions is trading beer for cookies, which I now munch like snacks.

Haven't drank in 8 years and it's usually easy with no thoughts about alcohol but man, I walked past my old favorite liquor store the other day and found myself thinking about what kind of cold beers they had for sale. I kept walking. That was a week ago and before that I hadn't thought about alcohol for a while. I can't drink. Can't drink beer, whiskey, nothing.
Life after alcohol is amazing. Especially if you smoke weed.
You can do it!

I'm not sure about that, I don't think you go back to the start as such.

The AA try to brainwash you with the same sayings and how there never seems to be any light at the end of the tunnel, like your standing on the edge of a cliff for all of eternity and one false move will bring it crumbling down around you, they said to me I would always be an alcoholic and made my future feel pretty bleak, crazy fukin cult is what they are.

My close friend says to me the only time you are a alcoholic is when your drinking, makes perfect sense.
As your clearly not when your not drinking.
I knew I had a problem when the drink started to affect other people outside my circle, family and friends as such, this was a concerning issue for me so I decided to stop for that reason alone as I was happy to carry on abusing myself, needless to say I managed to stay of it for almost six months and then had a break out nothing like my usual 5 or 6 days benders week after week it lasted 2 days and I didn't seem to enjoy it..

Every now and then I will have a few on a Friday nite or sat twice a month at most and will wake up with out a hangover and get on with my day and not let it get out of control,or beat my self up over it. No doubt this works for me being able to control it, I did seriously abuse it for over 30 years and did not like what I had become from it...
So if you do trip up just pick yourself back up guys dust yourself down and carry on....As sunshineinabag says be strong everybody and positive vibes to you all.....
