When you got first hit u dont feel high, but only few minutes later u feel relaxing sativa high its not "onehitter". This weed is good for morning smoke. purple schmurple. I wish this fad would end so people could start growing dank again. I've had some good purple but I've had a lot better greens.

dontlockmeup howabout growing your own "dank" and let the people enjoy their fad yeah?! Considering that we have established on ICMag overall that the purpling has nothing to do with the quality of the weed.
Unless you would like to contribute critically and logically on a point towards proving that the anthocyanin responsible for the plants turning colour (which can also be found in certain phenotypes of the best "green" weed during flowering) is in any way partly responsible for the type of high that is eventually emitted when smoking.
I ask anyone and everyone to challenge me on the fact that Jack Herer (arguably one of the strongest best strains out there) has had the odd purple pheno in it's wide growth diversity. which I don't think made the strain any worse.
As for myself and everyone else who is enjoying this and all other purple threads available on IC is going to carry on enjoying the lovely colours of a beautiful plant if they be red, green, blue, purple, yellow, orange, EDIT>> Black or white<<!

Hey Elevator Man Flo has interested me for a while, it's a very "own" strain sometimes you get almost black purple stems which is one of the most astonishing features for me. Your pictures a sweet dude loving the spiky bud leaves and the contrasts of yellow purple green and frosting

I've just browsed through the first page of this thread (my first thread). since I started in IC my views have changed dramatically, even the subject to the basis of this thread has changed now. I have learned that purple haze isn't that uncommon and many people are growing it. The purple haze is also just a phenotype this means that under certain conditions or random genes that any haze can purple during flowering (caused by anthocyanin). There are also a few different types of purple haze phenos which have been grown out and bred by a man called "Oldtimer". I am growing out an 'Oldtimer' strain of purple haze which can be viewed at http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=68064 ]http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=68064. This is the strain I have been searching for and for that I am grateful.
The more I've read my way through the International Cannagraphic forums, the more I have realised that people do share more information about strains, smells, tastes than I thought. Everything here at the click of a mouse. Never the less people have embraced this thread and joined in to put more information out there accessible to everyone, their experiences of growing and smoking. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread so far, and for helping me and everyone else learn.

When posting your beautiful purple bud pics I would love to know how the plant was to grow, how it was grown, if organic, hydroponic, indoors, outdoors! Obviously continue to describe the smells because that has to be one of the winning factors for choosing a strain to grow in your next grow from all the information you receive online!
I hope this thread continues to go strong and there will be many more people to give reputation to

As some has mentioned,purple color is no quality sign whatsoever.When that is said,I do love a great colored Cannabis plant,but I dont believe its really strong,at least before I smoke it.
I saw a real beauty on reefermans place,A Skunk#1 made with Panama red instead of Colombia gold.The thing was so covered in resin it was amazing.This pic dosent make it real justice.

Don't forget the names that I have listed are only for purple varieties, and that you shouldn't expect the best and strongest smoke out of every plant just because it's cannabis. It is also possible that you will not get a purple pheno but anthocyanins are possible in all of the above varieties. Correct me if I'm wrong but out of the thousands of varieties out there green purple or any colour only about 400 are worth smoking.

Like I've always said seed companies do nothing more than copy and paste each others information, but just thinking about the twinkling hazy turquoise green buds that as she matures are surrounded by a nebula mist and a fresh citrus smell makes me want to grow one.
