i'm more worried about the cooley win, really.

has shit nor shinola to do with 19, but those of you operating above the radar...it may be time to rethink things. i get the feeling this one is out for scalps, i wouldn't be showing off my cool hairdo.

I am thinking I will pull all my Grow Threads....because things have now changed...as far as Cali Law...we are no longer safe...or at least the relative safeness we have been feeling--

Whatever you say, this is a step backwards for the cannabis community worldwide.
IF there will be a second chance you'll have a very hard time to convince who voted NO today to change his mind. Things can get worse for med patients too in the future so dont laugh too much at it...

^i hate to say it but better safe than sorry. if it makes you feel safe to take down your pics than do so, just dont quit posting on the site. it is important to remain strong as a community and not become divided due to bitterness from disagreement. remember 99.9 percent of us still want legalization, some just really hated that particular bill. If we become divied we all lose more in the long run.

there's just no real middle ground on the guy's intentions or designs - cali med law or no, he sees it all as illegal.

if there's nothing identifying you or your specifics in your threads, i wouldn't sweat it any more than those of us already living in absolutely unfriendly turf.

he's a PR drug warrior - i'd expect him to push boundaries and try to 'set a tone' with as many quick med arrests as he can get. his election isn't going to change the budget situation, or anything, so i wouldn't expect a Marijuana Forum Monitoring Taskforce, or anything...but i wouldn't want to be the guy working a dispensary or erstwhile legit warehouse here in a few months.

I know. It is scary. He will welcome the DEA in to go nuts.

was dissappointed but not totally suprised. young people not voting seems to be a global propblem.

but that steve cooley character does sound like bad, bad news ahead! i'm really sorry for you guys!

agreed with hash zeppelin, now is the time to stay unified not divide. growers/smokers turning agains each other would be the worst thing no-prop 19 would've achieved.

Cali...No longer the leader!!

Cali...No longer the leader!!

WOW...I guess Cali is no longer the leader in this fight! Since 1996, Cali has lead the way & been very progressive. Thank you Cali for your service through the years, but it's time to move on!

Can everyone say Colorado!!

Hate me if you want, but it would have taken away rights we already have.Seems a lot of you who wanted it to pass dont even live here.It was not legalization , just a way for those with money to profit off the medicine while patients actually lose .Only those with mega bucks would benifit and have rights to grow, and the feds and cops wouldnt respect it anyway so whats the point?Give up what little we have for another marijuana tax stamp.you guys would be persecuted to grow and be buying marlboro weed. All the dispensaries I know are breathing a sigh of relief, me too.Glad it didnt pass.Big business runs enough already!

Bah!, they got Cooley in.. That is no good at all.. That is upsetting. We will have to keep a hawks eye on that sob. maybe even start a thread on him, as to keep track of his political movements. The Medical community needs to hold strong, while a better legalization bill is formed. The next bill will have to be a lot better than this one was, if it is to pass...

No, "we" all lost.....the "we" I'm talking about is every smoker and personal grower in the world, most us knew Prop 19 was going to be our cannabis Berlin Wall (the beginning of the end of world wide war on cannabis....

I reckon if it had been passed, many people would have happily been growing weed for months. Then out of the blue one day a man from the tax office comes to your house, asks to see your grow room and asks you how much you have been producing in those months. Next thing you know, you get a tax bill through the post telling you that you owe them $10,000 in cannabis tax. The reason i say this is that here in the uk you can legally grow tobacco, but if you grow it and smoke it you are meant to by law pay tax on what you have grown. I dont see taxing cannabis being any different to this. I dont trust anything that my own government do, let alone something that the US government do.

I've argued against prop 19 in the past, but legalization needs to happen, so it was still sad to see it get beat, especially that bad.

You really had a great first post for this thread, now is the time to figure out what went wrong, and start working towards a real legalization bill that will pass.

It is a little disappointing to see how many people were too apathetic to get out and vote.

But now is not the time to start blaming the loss on mmj growers, dispensaries, and lazy stoners. The bill was divisive in the first place. People said crap like it had to be compromised to pass, or get more conservative voters to vote for it. Guess what, either way they wouldn't have voted for it. To non smokers the issue was legalized vs. prohibition, the particulars didn't matter. But, the particulars definitely did matter to all of the people who make their living in the mmj industry, many of them being the very people who kicked off the mmj movement in the first place.

It turned into an issue of recreational smoker/grower vs. small time mmj business owner/grower, and small mmj businesses vs. big business.

How can the movement accomplish anything if we are busy arguing amongst ourselves? We need to work together on this thing.
