hello

hello

Hello there Pirate...Cheer up bro..you are not dumb...just hard headed
first uuuhhh...what exactly is in your dirt, and what porportions...
And what is your temps? looks pretty toasty in your cab bro...:hotbounce
I don't think you are having a problem overfeeding...in fact they look like they could use a shot of some nitrogen rich grow nutes, you are still plenty early enough that it won't hurt..that'll green em up for ya..

But first thing is first...get a thermometer in there and measure your temps..like everyone keeps tellin' ya. :bashhead:
Also make sure you have the essential fire safety tools handy: A SMOKE DETECTOR AND A FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!! <<<VERY IMPORTANT..be prepared and not sorry bro!

Heres my little "cooltube like" contraption I use with my 400W...my fan is probably upward of 465 CFM to keep my 2x3x4.5 foot cab cool: (hope ya don't mind..)

your cab looks to be about half the height as mine though...IMHO you are at a dead pass here bro...you need to get to work on that taller cab if you want to see a decent haul with that light...you ain't nute burnin...you is just burnin!! A 150W would go perfect in there...go check out my thread my veg cab is about that big and it has a 150w hps, and about the same cooling solution as you and it still can get warm if not exausted out of the room, and plenty of intake!

Cheers bro I hope I helped ya out a bit...sorry to be all eccentric like...
Peace
-Anima

Flower Day 21:

Ive had issues, nute lockout on the bagseed plant due to overfeeding of cal-mag i think. Yesterday they were carefully transplanted to 1.5 gallon pots and were flushed with straight water today. I hope to see em looking better soon. What nutes are ok to use every watering? Im guessin no to cal-mag but what about my PBP bloom and budswell?

Anyway here's a few pix, they are finally startin to look like something! Im very excited!

i have fed every watering since i started growing, except a few weeks after i heard the same thing you did and switched to alternating plain water and nutes every other time. eventually i ended up feeding every time again. think i just forgot.

its all about how much food you put in the medium compared with how much food the plant is eating, right? so if you want to feed every time, use a lower ppm. but the plant needs to be taking up that food and using it so the soil doesn't get all salty and saturated and shit, that definitely can happen easier with constant feeding.

those girls are not overfed. if you overfeed you'll get burnt leaf-TIPS but the whole plant would not be that yellow.

i would say anima is right. well, putting a dose of veg. nutes in with your feeding sounded right, but since you were using veg nutes in the first few weeks of bloom, it makes me think more nitrogen won't do much. so temps may indeed be the culprit.

if you haven't been there yet, a quick thread in the infirmary might help. or send "mynamestitch" a PM and ask him to check out your thread. he loves helping sick plants, he knows his shit, and i'm sure he'd take a look.

looks like you've overcome alot in your 1st grow your girls look to have overcome the problems. anima gave you some solid advise the objective for my feeding is fairly easy. i start off with good soil fox farm ocean forrest soil i mix it in the bag and use it i add nothing. if its a seedling or fresh rooted clone the 1st watering is allways plain PH'd @6.5 watering. my city uses cloriene to sanitize my drinking water so i allow the water to sit in the 1 gal jugs open over night min for cloriene to evaporate. cloriene will kill the good bacteria and fungi in the rootzone and start problems very fast also watering with out adjusting the waters PH. i'm sure stitch explained to you that the wrong PH to high or to low above 6.8 below 6.0 for soil causes problems fairly fast. do you have a PH meter when i 1st introduce ferts to my plants i give them approx 1/2 recomended dossage and bump up each wk to full dose achieved. i mix the ferts to be used 1 by 1 in each jug then adjust the PH only after all desired ferts are in the water. i shake vigorisly the mixture before use and use right away after mixing, i gently add water taken care not to flood the plant when drainage is achieved i move to next plant. if plants are in drain pans i extract all excess water from drain pans i dont allow the plants to suck the drainage water back up. this action allowing the plants to suck drainage back up will also lead to problems. i alternate plain water and then next is fert then plain water so on so forth untill plant is choped. 1st few runs are mostly the learning curve and gettn your setup dialed in. even with the few problems you've had your still winding up with some bud you grew on overgrow and even here. i've spent hours reading other more experinced growers threads, i've looked at what has made them sucessful and then molded a few styles into my style. it all starts with seed and the willingness to learn which leads to sucessful growing i'm sure your next run will be much better not sayn this run is bad ya still have 30 days type left and thier gonna get fatter :) . if you allready have a digi PH meter be sure to calibrate it every month to keep it spot on if you mix to much fert and dont use all besure to check PH again when you go to use it again. the PH will fluctuate 6.5 today could be 7.0 in a wk also organic ferts tend to fall apart after about that long in the jug organic matter settels to bottom.

another thing i do when i test the water is rinse the shot glass and ph meter node off before the 1st use and after every use so i can obtain the most accurate reading possible. i use plain tap water for this

Ok well my supposed 65 day strain Big Buddah Cheese is already showing a couple amber triches on the topmost biggest buds....its day 41 of flower. So did i stress the plant with my nitrogen defiency and month of overfeeding and cause it to mature faster? Seems likely it is a small bonsai plant like i stunted it. So im 2 days away from my watering, so of course i flush? When should i harvest? Should i just chop the topmost amber trich buds and leave the bottom buds for longer?

I will post pix in a couple days.

Hey pirate...
Still cookin' away in your 400w easybake oven? :D
GET THAT FIRE EXTINGUISHER YET??? :hotbounce:
You are far enough along and by the claw looking leaves on your bagseed, you don't need any more nitrogen ferts. I still think a top dressing of worm castings would help you out though...You want to be adding a high Phos fert for budding. use half strength bottle directions..

You are seeing amber trichs early because they are soo close to the hot light.

Don't add any more stress than they already are dealing with dude...
I wouldn't chop early if I were you...you will be screwing yourself..you'll get a few cooked buds and a whole bunch of premature stuff..if you keep going how you are you will probably bleach out a couple of tops...but you should still wait and finish the whole plant proper and get some decent nugs..

I still stand where I did earlier...and I am actually surprised that you are doing as well as you are...you aren't nute burnin...You are just flat out burnin.
At least get a thermometer in there..

my 2x2.5x4 cab with a 400w inside a cooltube (no temp problems even in the summer when combined with a decent blower... I think I posted it up in your thread already):

One of these, and some decent exaust can keep your plants from looking like you are growing out in death valley..

Cheers bro :friends:
I know I can be a lil rough around the edges...but i mean well bro :D

Thanx for stoppin by, i mean that. But so you know, I have a thermometer in there and i keep my temps with the light on between 78-84. I installed a makeshift heat shield over my light and also i have a small fan blowing across the canopy. So i dont think i have a prob with burning or bleaching, when i put my hand above my plants it feels comfortale and cool. I do totally agree with gettin a cool tube for my new currrently workin on grow cab, infact its already ordered bam! I will just keep an eye on these triches.
