Been following but just now popping in. :)
All things considered, you have a very nice lil garden in progress. The rain has really been a hassle to deal with this year but am hopeful it will clear up some in the next couple months. :noway: The ladies roots would sure like to breathe. Anyways great work and nice fatty there. ;)

Thanks for following along! The plants will just take off as soon as the weather drys. We dodged a hard rain yesterday, and got lucky again today! Sun was out too. :)

I'm proud of how my garden is doing. Takes experience to know what they need and the timing. Wish I would have germed seed earlier, but it was just too cool. Even after I had seedlings up, there were a coupe cool spells. Some have said this winter could be a tough one. So its good I put out some top dressing again after the heavy rains. :)

I've always just topped once. I really like the response from the 2nd topping. Just depends on light amount for that plant.

Glad to see some dry weather, the disease has been doing damage. I think its worse obviously because of the excessive wet and also the insect damage. Little openings for disease to infect. I know mother nature will balance things out. Will just keep inspecting and cleaning up dead diseased leaves unless it starts getting silly.

This is one of the neatest times of the season. Cicaidas are calling, sun is blazing. Its summertime... :)

Hello pipeline!

Nice to follow your grow mate! Always is more rewarding to grow our home made seeds. Have you tried to grow some early sativas like african? they are rain and wet resistant and also are strong to fight the plagues.

Good luck man!

I've grown several varieties, some had sativa influence. Don't have a lot of experience with them. Would be good to have a few of them out in case its a wet year! I'd like to outcross these Deep Chunk hybrids I've been growing. African sativa sounds like a good place to start. I'm just going to have to sacrifice yield and ripeness a bit and pick tops late September. Will be watching the weather closely. I'd like to hang them outside for a few days to dry... Thanks CHARCHOFA!

Plants are doing well! About a foot of growth this week on most of them. They are getting bushy and stems are fattening. I do have a bit of bad news. The wet ground seemed to have stressed the ones on the low end of the gardens. Environment has been good for diseases. Long dew periods humidity and heat. Removed all diseased leaves. Still a couple weeks of stretch. Most of them are growing well.

I am rethinking the trenches. Its a great idea, but it will only work when the water has somewhere to drain off. The swamp was up! I think I should have just left it alone or piled soil on the low end of the garden to keep any water out. Definately going to mound the soil high next year. Tell me what you think. Enjoy!

yeah buddy! quarter size stem! Saw plenty of roots surfacing. I bet they are looking for oxygen. Soil washing is part of it.

Wow, some nice growth in a week. Those girls need a week or so of hot sun to straighten them out. Some nice mounds next year will make a huge difference. I seen a swamp grow on here somewhere where he had huge mounds right in the swamp and had some huge plants.
Hoping you get some sun.
Peace GG

Thanks Guerilla! Expecting a big of rain, but mostly sun for the next week or so! I am cheering them on. I need to catch up with all the cloudy wet weather! :)

Thinking of using a hand shovel and breaking up the crust a bit if its dry next week. Need to get some air to those roots! :)

Hey Pipeline, great looking garden thus far!!

I ran across a couple of your old threads that had to do with drying outdoors? I was just curious if you planned on doing that this season as well? (sorry if you've already answered this question my friend).

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Danny! I've been working hard keeping my garden this year, and its seems to be paying off. Wish I would have mounded more around the plants early on. I'll be drying outside again, at least for a few days. After a few days their smell dies down quite a bit, and if needed (it rains) they can come into the barn for the last couple days. :)

Went out to the plots today. Soil was worked lightly with a hand shovel, and crust broken up by scratching by hand. Still plenty of top dressing around, and it was worked in well. I know the roots will thank me. Crust doesn't let any air in. I did cut a few roots, but I tried to keep it as shallow as I could while doing a good job. Took all loose soil and MOUNDED AROUND THE PLANTS! Better late than never! :)

Have some sad news 2 of lowest plants in the gardens, 1 from each plot had to be pulled. Did a root tug and they are done. Almost no roots alive, just a few at the surface. I know a few of the plants may have a bit of root death going on, but they are tolerating it and growing out of it it looks like. Just stresses them and makes more likely to get diseased. Hoping they build out the root system quick with the loosened up crust and top dressing working in.

Plants looked happy today, I think everything will be alright. I have been very fortunate many of the big plants are female. There is always a give and take with mother nature. Its amazing, the good Lord gives you wisdom every day! Just have to listen... Thank you God for the opportunity to learn and grow as a person, as we grow your plant. Help us to not be greedy or selfish. Help us to understand that even when we think we have everything under control, we are powerless without Your Spirit and Grace in our lives... Amen

Oh yeah, did have to cull a pencil sized stem plant. Had what could have been a mutation, inbreeeding depression possibly. The top growing point got messed up and it was just 3 leaf petioles at the top. Have to be ruthless to be a good gardener... I want good seed. :)

Heavy rain coming in this evening! May be one or two inches. Glad I went and made the mounds this afternoon. Should help work in the fertilizer and get the roots to develop after I disturbed the soil.
