Did a plant inspection this evening. No major issues. Not many caterpillars damage as far as I can see so far. Keeping an eye out. Saw a few cut leaves, so need to get out there in good daylight so I can inspect a little better. Resin is getting pretty developed, smelled all the plants to get an idea of the phenotypes out there. Going to be a great mix. Lots of greasy indicas, some sweet pine, some sweet fruity grease combinations, and a couple overripe juicy fruit types.

This one plant in particularhad a really strong sharp smell along the lines of grease which I have seen in the past, but its very pronounced, and very dank and potent.

Can't wait until harvest! Great inbred line! God is good, He has made the heavens and the earth by His wisdom, He made the cannabis plant, which grows from the earth but reveals the glory of the heavens! Thank you God!

Thanks! Just got done watering again. Watered at day 6 the past couple weeks. The flowers are bulking up well, and are getting ripe. Some are farther along than others, but they are all on the early side.

Going to get a couple days of rain early next week, so will have to start spending time inspecting for mold. Been easy going so far!

It's been a great growing season so far here for me as well.. some thrips and whiteflys earlier this year, but nothing bad and easy to treat....
Been pest free since..
A couple of my plants have a week to go and I'm getting excited.. I have like four plants(ive never grown before)that probably won't finish..

Thinking mold issues may begin to surface after this week with rain chances. I usually try to wait until early to mid october and cut them all at once. I try not to cut the tops unless necessary because of mold. I cut out the damaged spots as much as possible to allow them to ripen as late as possible.

Had a nice rain this evening! Maybe a tenth or a quarter inch I think. Scraped the leaves off the garden just in time. Plants will be full of water and producing well this week! Hope to see some sun! :smoke:

Yeah I have been slacking on staking. Time to get serious. Had a plant break in the rain yesterday evening, and a smaller plant broke because it had another plant leaning on it and thought it could support it since it had a stake. So 2 more plants harvested, and they are actually ripe because of the heat! Going to wait as long as possible for the rest of the crop to get more flavor, potency, and yield. Want the seeds to ripen up.

Have a few new shots to share. :smoke:

Its been the shady side that has the weak plants that tend to snap. Most of them on the sunny side are standing on their own and a few of the plants is able to lean on the fence, so it ends up not being too big of a deal. Still good canopy coverage, and airflow will be better.

Harvesting early means its easier to pull off trimming everything to hang in one day on harvest day, so it works out if you thin them out a little by early harvest of weak plants.

Hope they make it through the rain sunday and monday. They backed off the rain forecast, so it may not be too long of a rain, but looks like chances for a couple days, so mold could be a threat. These plants have been acclimated a little bit to have mold resistance I think because of seed selection. They are loose structure compared to other strains.

The nitrogen is pretty high right now, over fed a couple plants a bit seeing slight symptoms on a couple leaves, but the extra N helps keep them from losing leaves. They are using it up quickly, plus when it gets dry they get hungry.

Yeah the fall droughts have been a dream. It takes a lot longer to inspect the crop at harvest if mold has been a threat.

Looking for a dry window to harvest them after the rain, Early October. Will be drying outdoors again under hunting blind tarps! Have to have some decent warm weather and it takes about 10-14 days to let them dry down all the way outdoors in the woods.

Little update I posted in Anything Outdoor 2024. Getting some rain but its going to be getting windy later, maybe up tho 60 mph. Fowers are getting heavy and a few plants have snapped over the past couple weeks.

Plants have been ripe though and are potent medicine. They just lack the full terpene profile and may gain a little potency, but they are there on some of them. They could be cut, but would be best to wait if possible until next weekend.

Hanging in there!

That Sianai looks a little like some of the SCC. I like the more airy flowers to allow the trichomes to develop normally without being squished. Plus they may dry out faster.

White truffle looks tastey!~~ We need to have an ICMAG taste test session!

Hanging in there. Been harvesting a plant every few days when snapped. Another small plant snapped. And the mice are back eating seeds out of small flowers. The big buds have the seeds hidden. I moved the fence so they were less likely to climb up the post by the damage.

Wind may get to 60 mph gust with 25-35 mph sustained today with around an inch or so total rain. Plus rain likely tomorrow for around quarter to half inch in the afternoon, and rain likely sunday with lesser amounts.

Fertilized the lawn with Chicken manure granules, so at least have something to look forward to. Glad its raining, but hope the flowers don't get too wet. Will watch the weather and may end up cutting tops on Sunday if prolonged rain is triggering mold. I don't think it is yet from what I can tell. :smoke:

Thanks Farmer John! Trying my best! Have some nice buds out there.

The garden was over fertilized this year, and I'm seeing some leaves that are burnt. Some plants are worse than others, but its pretty minimal on almost all of them. Hoping this rain helps with the N burn. They are producing really good yield and have healthy flowers this year! High N!

Will back off the N a little next year. I went overboard because wanted to make sure they got fed and didnt drop a bunch of yellow leaves early. I think they drop the leaves anyway because it gets shaded out and its just that part of the growing cycle where they lose some leaves.

Guess I can say, "Thank you LORD, for helping rinse the buds!"

These things are spotless. He takes good care of them.

Its good to test with storms like this to see which plants work better when making seeds. Trying to breed for early harvest and mold resistance, and a lot of the plants have it. Will ahve to get some pics as I trim. :smoke:

High humidity next couple days, so cut them up more to be able to dry. Need to keep the moisture out so they can start to dry.

Any tips for harvest techniques?

Try to let them dry over 7-10 days until stem snaps by the bud, then jar in quarts with just a little headspace. I use 58% Boveda. I think they help.

Burp monthly during cure, then after about 60 days or so, could leave them closed to minimize oxygen. May be good to burp every once in a while.

Does anyone use oxygen absorbers?

Harvesting since the storm is continuing to bring rain for a 3 days in a row. The tops are done and there were some spots of mold in just a few flowers. It was time to take the tops, and the rest of the plants can ripen for a couple weeks. Hope we get some sweet warm weather, and keep them going for a heavier yeild!

Helping my friend who has pain and nausia issues. Its good to be able to provide what he needs. Life saving medicine, guys! God is good! Helps extend our life expectancy and have better quality of life. :smoke:

Got the tops drying down indoors, doing well. A little bit of a learning curve when humidity is so high for several days in a row. Kept the fans going and closed up the house to keep humidity high, even used the oven and stove to heat and reduce moisture. Plants had slight N burn, so may have made a little more prone to getting mold spots on some of them.

Other half of the plants will be out hopefully for a couple weeks. We'll see, if the mice keep eating seeds, may have to pull them a little earlier. They are being somewhat destructive this year. May have been because of the drought. Stoned mice keep coming back to climb plants and eat seed, but they leave the big buds thankfully.

Enjoying a bit of rest, no need to water now! :smoke:
