hmm i think this seems to be a regional issue. sure the word piff can get played out just like the word haze can. imo in the strictest sense piffs definition would be the brown haze clone the great88.which is different from cuban black haze but in the same class. the definition of piff in lexicon has become more inclusive to include all of the nyc hazes. this can happen with any poplar item. going back to dipset had multiple hood dvds which showed bags of manhattan brown cuban black etc.jadas been rhyming about piff strips since late 90s. theres no strain or clone more recognizable to someone from the east coast then the piff clones.

and this is because we smoked it for a decade and it dissapeared after 2006 bust in large quantities. when you smell taste there is no mistaking it 10 years come rushing back all at once. we all paid 20 dollars for a .7 for years when there was much cheaper bud around. what piffcoast has and brought to the community is irreplaceable. its just like nevil saving the 69 haze males if he had not done that the entire scene would be different. i guess at the end of the day what you think doesnt matter at all. your so eager to talk shit you dont realize what your saying is total bullshit mixed with some jealousy i guess. nyc haze is the most discussed cannabis of all time every forum has multiple threads on the search. and its not just because it was popular its because its something special that wasnt out-crossed and preserved every trait that makes haze magic. but that does not mean its the only good haze or everyone needs to like it.. any f1 or early breeding some nevils males is special and important. all these lines hold cannabinoid pathways lost to almost all hybrids. and of course any popular word is going to get played out i had piff shaved into side of my fade back in 07 so its the opposite of a trend. its a revival.

Some old info from WeBeHigh, a traveler's weed scoring guide or what would you call it..

Washington Heights IF you know someone!! Recently someone posted in the NYC report that 188 n Amsterdam is a spot where people are waiting. Like ANYWHERE in NYC, be it Washington Sq Park or Washington Heights, you can get ripped off, beaten, arrested or worse. There is a major differecence between the Park and 188th St, don’t let the fact that they both have “Washington” in the names. 188th St and Amsterdam is in the middle of Wash Heights, which is a working class ‘hood where the majority of residents are Dominican. Any pitching on 188 will most certainly be Dominicano and/or Latino, either speak English or not, and most probably WON’T sell to you if your White, or even if they don’t know you! See, pre- Guiliani days this was different of course. Just as someone mentioned that in the early 90’s you wouldn’t get arrested. In either case, only troop uptown if you are very street savvy, speak Spanish( preferred) and the best bet…KNOWING ur connection. But in general yes, The Heights is famous for its potent weed and about 90% of the time the young “tigeres” or homeboys selling weed on the street are selling HAZE! Purple Haze and Wash Heights are synonymous.

I’ve been coppin weed in and around NYC since I was young snot nose, particularly in The Heights as that is where I grew up. Washington Square Park, and to a lesser degree Central Park( Sheep Meadow) is still the most popular weed cop destination in NY. But seriously, do we know ANYONE who is still buying there? Ummm, no. Washington Heights, on the other hand, has ALWAYS had killer weed. Back in the 80’s and 90’s it was most famous for being the biggest cocaine and crack hood in the World basically! Today, yes there is still all that bad shit, but weed is know what Wash Heights is famous for. The Haze especially which is VERY strong! I, personally, no longer buy on the street unless it’s emergency?? But the herb is crazy good up this way!

And on the topic of formaldehyde (embalming fluid).
Embalming Fluid Stolen From Funeral Home
Published: Apr. 22, 2005 at 4:03 AM GMT+3
They pried open the back door after hours. A malfunctioning alarm system allowed burglars to steal a box of embalming fluid from the Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Home in North Tyler.

"As to why somebody would want to use it, I couldn't tell you," Reverend Reginald Garrett, president, said. "That stuff is extremely toxic."

It's not the first time Tyler police have dealt with this kind of theft. The chemical has become more popular the past several years.

"They'll take a marijuana cigarette and they'll dip it into this," Sergeant Bill Goecking said. "And after they let it dry, they'll then smoke it. It's supposed to enhance some type of psychedelic reaction from this."

The government says embalming fluid can cause a slew of short- and long-term effects, including brain damage, coma, and spinal cord destruction.

"We always wear protective gear -- gloves, mask, all these things -- to protect ourselves from smelling and ingesting these fumes," Garrett said. "It baffles me as to why anyone would want to voluntarily take that into their body."

The toxic ingredients include formaldehyde, methanol (used in antifreeze), ethyl alcohol, and other solvents.

"Formaldehyde is used to embalm human bodies that are dead," Goecking said. "And I sure wouldn't want to put that into my live human body."

Embalming fluid has more than a dozen known street names, including Amp, Crazy Eddie, Purple Rain, Wack, and Wet.

The box stolen from Brooks Sterling & Garrett is worth a couple of hundred dollars. The funeral home says they have fixed their alarm system and will take extra steps to secure its embalming fluids.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, embalming fluid can also cause cancer, heart attack, and kidney damage.
Though I do believe this is the result of a misunderstanding, with the slang term embalming fluid for PCP being taken too literally by both the cops and the robbers in this case. In reality formaldehyde is not chemically related to phencyclidine, not even a precursor.

This is my opinion on the piff, not that it matters... someone mentioned a bit ago in the thread that piff has become like og in the sense that no one know exactly which og was the first or "the og" however now there are multiple ogs out there, all sharing growing traits and terp profiles. That's kind of where I believe the piff is at at this point. Everyone is arguing over which cut is "the piff" like the exact one or the first one. Which people have a good idea of but seems to be greatly debated. I grew up in South Jersey having 2 options as "highs" both were .7 for 20 and it was the piff and strawberry haze. Back then I had no inclination to ask about plant lineages so I have no idea. That shit was fucking fire. We always got the piff unless they were out then we got the strawberry.

At this point what I believe piff to be is a plant with majority haze or long flowering Nl5haze genetics that carries the heavy incense and leather terps. Reeks of incense when burning and has a very strong long lasting very up high.

Anyways here some haze I just chopped. Pcf Audubon purple (Audubon gold haze x harlem dreams) I never see anyone argue over Audubon gold haze being a classic nyc haze cut. As far as "THE" Piff will it ever be settled which is the original? Likely not but I'm grateful to be able to try them all in crosses now. There's more keepers coming. This cut smells as if your were to sit on a fresh leather couch and light up some incense. This is piff to me.

Thank you! 12 weeks, I think she can go a little longer but not on this run, she is finicky likes a lot of food but doesn't like being topdressed at all, have to gage how much she needs up front. Still just a tad more than I did this run. I have run 3 at about 3 weeks right now.

Run 2 was better than run 1, I'm smoking run 1 now and it's been a great addition in my life.

2001.
1993 was the first time I saw Cristal Skunk and Orange Bud. Until there it was all import landraces, leafy outdoor grown Skunk and Hash.

Off-topic, but here the weed menu from Bluebird Coffeeshop, Amsterdam, 1992. :)

I sure remember the orange bud as well. Roughly.same time. Smoked a lot of it. That is the same for me, about the time the good weed became more available in my area. I think we first saw blueberry shortly after.

I've tried countless samples of haze from the east coast over the last several years. Grown out hundreds and hundreds of "piff" type seeds and am currently running flower from A5 and a lot of the "piff" moms being discussed here. I've grown the "piff s1", Cuban Black Haze, JJs Nigerian, Bandaid Haze and a bunch of "piff" type clones as well. Not saying "piff" is my focus cuz it's not. I'm just into haze in general and looking for haze effects more then anything else. But I definitely have a baseline and working understanding of the "piff" profile that's being discussed here.

That said, IMO "Piff" is just a narrative. It's a marketing gimmick and that's about it.

"Piff" is a moving target that can be what ever these LARPers and seed hustlers need it to be in any given situation. Sometimes "piff" is a specific clone.....until you smoke the clone and find out it's weak....then they say piff is just a terp profile, and it's actually this other clone over here....once you smoke all the clones it goes back to legend stories and they just keep moving the target.

The real problem is that CBH from Florida is just the haze that survived until present day. It's not the legendary NYC haze of the past which was most likely Nevils Haze and disappeared from the market years ago. CBH was just one of the Haze C hybrids from that era that survived. So trying to prop up the CBH as the legendary NYC haze has been the hustle since Nuggets CBH showed up on the scene back in 2019.

The reality is that it's all basically Dutch Haze bag seed rebranded....and at the same time they gotta make is seem superior to Dutch Haze somehow.

If you zoom out from all the hype and legend stories and just base it on how things smoke and what mom's exist in real life.....the Dutch Haze scene and the West Coast are on a whole different level. The best cuts of CBH are a notch down from Nevils cuts or the various haze clones from the west coast. I've grown them side by side so I don't have to speculate or try to decode some bullshit from phylos to figure out which one smokes better.

This is why "Piff" needs to stay a moving target. Once people figure out there are better sources for dutch haze the "piff" hustle implodes. Now that the CBH clone is sold commercially the clock is ticking. People are starting to grow it out next to other hazes and it's not measuring up.

That's why the narrative is on the move again. Now it's a secret batch of haze A seeds that Nevil sold only in New York.....or maybe it's the African haze that was the "Real Piff"....

Either way the important thing to remember is that "piff" was the best haze on earth. You we're never cool enough to try it back in the day.....nothing you are currently growing is as good as "piff" and piffcoast is the guy who saved haze and has the best "piff" for sale in seed form. As long as you go along with that narrative then you will have no drama.

Question the narrative or ask for proof....then they say you're just a hater. Lol

In short..."Piff" = Cool Story Bro
I offered to send nobody some haze so he can finally shut up but he didn’t reply, if he tries some properly grown piff he won’t have anything to complain about anymore 🤣

If weed is pdydelic it must be strong.
Psydelics are like that "stony" and psydelic.
If you want positive weed and euphoric.
There is no better weed than skunk 1 or orange bud for that.

F2 ((NL #5 / Skunk #1) / C1) x Haze
Jack lineage.
Im not shure what is C1 here but I think that I read somewhere that it is NL5 male from sensi pack.

But If Nevile said that C1 was mother of Jack and it was his best haze ever founded.

Maybe Jack is (NL5xshiva male to C1)
From this lineage female was founded and it is hit by haze male A.

If lineage is like that there are phenos A and C to be found.

When I get answer if I get it. what is C1,I will post it here.

Some Jack/bedrocan pictures.
Ok I get the answer...so C1 in JH lineage is original NL5 cutting. Its first name tag was
"CI#5 F1" (I was Roman no 1.)
So lineage of JHerer is (NL5(cutting) × shiva skunk male) from this cross female was found and it was hit by O.haze male.
It was SK1 dominant female with big calyx and spicy, meaty, peppery. No acrid ghani/skunk tipe plant with NL5 resin and power. And it flower time was around 42-49 days.
I hope that this help.

I don't think NY Piff ever arrived in this corner of the world, but in my experiences I found two varieties that had a powerful taste of church incense (it is widely used in Catholic churches):
one is a very dominant A5 pheno of Neville haze, and the other is definitely pan-o-haze by @JohnnyChicago

Piff is NLHaze from Holland and made it everywhere in the world in the 90s, early 00s. I did reek it even in Bangkok in 2001. Followed the smell in a 5* hotel and got to smoke it from some crazy tourists in their hotel room. The same A2, probably A5(2) that was getting sold for 5.000 the kilo in S. Holland, Brussel and Paris. That could even have been sold in NYC when I read the 0,7 for 20 from there. The Thais luckily did not even recognize the heavy NLHzA incense smell as a cannabis smell or they would have called the army, not the cops. :)

2015 Pan-o-Haze v1 clone is still alive brother. Magic still working. Last summer it got a new nick name from some rasta guys at a festival. "Assassins weed" :ROFLMAO:
