My 630w ballast has arrived. It is larger than a 315w ballast so that's good. Already have it mounted. Lights come on at 5pm so will see..

Anyone grab one of those ebay 180 dollar 630s ? Found the link on this thread I think.
My 5 by 10 canopy needs something between my 1k lights. Thinking this would be the ticket

There is one seller on eBay selling Sun Systems LEC 630s slightly used. I just received two and can verify their claim. Excellent condition and quick delivery at a fraction of the price of new.

I forgot to post the results. All good so far with this ballast. I will order 1 more soon as a backup. I need 1 on hand when 1 fails.

So I'm looking at setting up a larger grow room with CMH, and have been doing some heavy research the past several days. Still have some unanswered questions.

For those of you who have used the EBM aka Eonboom ballasts, can you tell more about the operation and reliability? Anyone taken one apart? I'm curious to know what the innards look like. If it's a basically good design but could just maybe use some upgraded capacitors or MOSFETs to make it more reliable, I'm all over these like a fat kid on cake. I'm just not rich enough to afford the Phillips ballasts, unless I can just grab a few at a time for low bucks off of ebay.

Hammerhead mentioned earlier he has used the Chinese bulbs also with good results, identical results to Phillips he says. Can anyone else confirm whether or not the Chinese bulbs are any good?

Furthermore, I noticed the trend of connecting multiple arc tubes together in series to make 630W and 945W bulbs. Does this method work well, and does it impact bulb life or performance?

Instead of putting multiple tubes inside one bulb, would it be possible to chain together multiple 315W bulbs in series on a 630W, 945W, or 1000W ballast, to get the same effect, thus saving a lot of money on ballasts in the process while still allowing one to use standard bulbs?

Boy. My girls seem real sad under this 630 right now. Feels like all else is in check. Nutes, media stays damp between cycles rh between 50 and 70 temps 75 to 80 co2 at 1000ppms.
Girls were happy first few days with my 2 thouies with 10k bulbs turned down to 600. Then the 930 bulbs came, slapeed em in and dropping from the light out in severity. About 4 ft from canopy
Reminds me of when I take girls outside. Hoping they rebound soon and start stacking nodes. Freaking light is bright as hell for sure

Are you in coco?. Should be 75-78f lights on. No lower than 65f lights off. I don't use Co2. Early flower 50-70rh is fine. Late flower should be 30-40rh.

No, Im in 6 gallon ppks 50/50 perlite to turface.
Never ran this headbanger before so Maybe shes sensitive to light, only lived under floro thus far. Just a little worried on the droop. All else seems in balance. Think they are 3 or 4 days under the 630 today. If no improvement Ill shut it off just to see if that is the cause.

Plants droop when lights are off in early flower. This is normal. It should go away by week 3-4. You shouldn't keep your medium most all the time. That's why I asked if coco. The roots need a wet/dry cycle. In veg I water and wait until the medium is dry. This can take 3-4 days. In early flower fewer watering works better week 1-3. I don't start feeding daily until after week 3. When plants are dry after 12 hrs its time for daily or every other day feedings. If u start feeding everyday early the medium stay wet to long causing roots to rot at the bottom. Plants will be much happier when they go through a normal wet/dry cycle.
