Good lookin! I have the same combo from about a month ago still sitting in boxes planning on hooking it up in a few weeks, now I wont have to go through that hassle.
I was planning on using a bad 600 Lumitek ballast to put a Phillips 315 into. I cant get the damn Epoxied Circuit board out. They didn't want anyone reusing there Alum cases.. If anyone knows a place that has some project cases that will fit a Phillips ballast post a link.. I have a plastic 1 for 1 of them. I need 1 more. .

I tried most places like that even Mcmaster Carr. I have a plastic 1 but it barley fits. The hardest part is finding a case that fit's the Phillips inside.
I'd use aluminum. These should work given that the ballast is 191x124x56mm-

Phillips ballast measures 209.5 x 124 x 56 with the bottom tabs for screws. I need more room to add 1 eBoot for the lamp cord & 1 Male Panel Power Plug..
I have 1 of these already installed in use. I had to snip off the tabs. It works but would like to get Alum.

Thanks for the link- it's a keeper.
I've used that vendor several times with good success. They don't have the broadest selection on the internet, but the items that they do carry are usually priced well.
I just had another phantom ballast crap out on me.
I have 5 total and is is the second to fail on me.
At least they are honoring the warranty, sending it in for a free replacement.
The best thing I have going for me is I have one in veg I can steal to use in flower if one fails.
It's not going to fuck anything up replacing the cmh with a t5 fixture in veg!!
I'd be pissed if it was in flower.

Bummer to hear the about quality issues with the phantoms. I just finished my first run with 6 of them and didn't have any problems. Chopped only 2 days ago so I don't have a final impression yet but so far I'm happy. Cut way down on the stretch and seemed to finish a few days earlier. Going to get 3 more for the next round.
The 2 I sent back where Phantom II. I have 1 old style Phantom 315 no issues..

All 5 are original phantoms, they're great otherwise.
I did notice the bulb kind of pulsed for a while before the ballast shit out.
Some days it pulsed, others it worked fine.
Any hum I ever heard lead to failure, they also get hotter before they crap out (ballast)
I'm not mad, we have drivers and ballasts fail all the time at work.
If they didn't, I wouldn't make any replacement money.
Nothing is built bulletproof anymore, there's money in buy more parts, not less.
I'm going to grab a spare ballast, for emergency use only.

There's always going to be bad units from time to time. Having this many is not good. If it continues peoples perception of there quality will become questionable. I will get the cheaper units or a Phillips from here on out..

If anyone is looking for a DE adjust-a-wing. I got this 1. It arrived in a plain brown box. Its also $30+cheaper then anywhere I have seen.
