I chopped my outdoor plants.

I don't want to deal with the thieves.

They would just break into my shed to steal them.

I don't want to spend the money on a security system.

Well, it was a fun experience. Better off safe than sorry. It would suck to attract unwanted thieves with plants. I mean, who steals tomatoes?

They've been going around the neighborhoods at night with flashlights already.
I'm sure they would have seen my plant going in and out of the shed for a month or two.

Now I won't have to fix any damage to my shed.

Well, it was a fun experience.

Yeah, now I know that coco and perlite works great and I should be able to do that in my closet.

I mean, who steals tomatoes?

I had a vegetable garden a bunch of years ago.
My neighbor stole my tomatoes. Lol

I intend to reuse this crate full of perlite and coco.
That's $25 worth of coco and perlite.

Is it important to get all the roots out?
Should I sift through everything?, or is a bit of "organic matter" OK?

The clay pellets separated nicely but the rest is one big root ball.







I'll pick through it and try to get most of the roots out.

Just shake the shit out of it, the soil will come loose and leave you with mostly roots. The fine root hairs wont hurt anything IMO.

I found a few earwigs and spiders in the planter so I won't be bringing anything into the house.
Maybe the clay pellets but I'll cook them first.

Some Cyco Zyme will break down the roots that are left and turn them into nutes for the next plant.

I'll look into it but if it's too much money, I'll just go with the bacteria.

My closet plant is back to being a SIP container with bottom watering and some bacteria but I'm PHing the nute solution.

She's has made an awesome recovery.



I figure I should have drained/flushed my cooler before and the molasses was a bad idea.
I want the good bacteria to flourish but I was feeding everything with the molasses.

Yeah don't worry about leftover roots... I used to "strain" the out but nowadays I only remove the plant stalk and the big roots and my mix is good to go again.They'll decompose within a month or two or even quicker.

I found a wasp in my drink, so I reached in and saved it from drowning. Lol

It dried off and flew away. (I think it might be wasted. Lol)
