damn, I guess it had to be killed since it was so close to the shop. Ive had my share of close calls with them out in the SW, and they never made a sound until Im within striking distance? That always seemed strange to me but they chose not to bite my legs/hands/face so :thank you: I had to stop / smoke in order to continue uhh exploring though...

Hope to see some green in your padded cell soon, Im going to be building a 3x3x4ft tent from reflectix soon for a vertical 400w and your washers/drywall screws/tape method should work well

yeah, being a liver transplant i have a compromised immune system from the anti-rejection medicines. my white, red, and hemoglobin blood numbers are borderline as it is and my platelet count is and will always be way below normal. the platelets are responsible for coagulation and clotting so i bleed more than normal when cut.

just inject a little hemotoxin! i have seen other snakes in the yard but don't touch them other than to run them off. i had a big gray rat snake coiled up in front of the door one day. common garter snakes.

if i had to build a tent type enclosure i would use the reflectix with the 1" drywall screws and washers attached to 2x2's because the 2x2's are square and will fit in any dimension. easy to fasten the wood together with the same 1" screws and those little 2" right angle metal framing plates they sell in the lumber section.

nice to hear from you! hows the growin' goin'?

lol "broke a hoe blade off in his ass"

nice work

hi, welcome to the padded cell!

i really do feel bad about dispatching his soul to eternal bliss but the timber rattler is very territorial. hunts the same areas and returns to the same burrow. has the live babies (up to 100) in the same den. i have rocky terrain with berries in patches everywhere around here. i have outside pets. so any one of them that is close to the house or shop building is going on permanent vacation too.

if they are at least away from the buildings by maybe 50 yards i'll leave them alone.

i put a shotgun and a mag lite on the shopping list last night.

The snakes were nice to me when I was visiting their home so I try to do the same, but I guess that one wasnt going anywhere. I wouldve had to walk a few hours to get medical treatment, and your odds still seem a bit worse. Being young and dumb has some benefits. Your fishing stories are most likely better though

Its only in the 90s here but the lack of rain has been keeping me busy outside. Its difficult to keep one room cooler than the rest when using the central AC. (btw does the heat from your window acs go into the shop?

grows goin ok though, some issues with the clone/harvest cycle but its keeping me happy. Slightly bored with the genes, but not much I can do about that besides making oil. Building another cab should keep my mind of that problem. Got some ideas for a lightproof/filtered intake and a diy lazy susan for easy access all around. Only problem with 2x2s for the corners is I would need to wrap the reflectix around the outside? might use a 2x4 and 2x2 to form an L instead for a bunch of reasons i dont feel like listing, its time to go shopping

Panda and OSb would be nice but I dont want to visit ´that´ store and am worried about the glues in most wood products

I can only find the 6¨ lazy susans at HD for $4.50 that hold 500lb, which is better than what I was planning on using (from an junk stool, with plastic rings instead of bearings). Already considered adding a wood frame and 4?? casters near the edge of the round base even though there should be less than 100lbs on it. Would be nice if it stayed flat for a while..Its hard to describe but theres going to be a 24in square -2in thick pleated merv8 filter under the square frame/ turntable. So the larger gap between the two bases wont be wasted. Air should be distributed around the circle which is another reason why I didnt want a normal tent. Trying to get away with just the 6¨ inline and a pc fan. Might use a 3ft kiddie pool if the OD fits and the sides are steep. My other plan was to maybe glue/nail/long ratchet strap? a 1-2"lip onto the circle base and cover with plastic sheeting. The drain would need to be disconnected each time, might shopvac it instead

btw...Does anyone make a fan that spins around in circles like a top/ dradle? I noticed a few other electronics can rotate around with any wires tangling up.

How about expanding on your use of said secret ingrediant? I have had many successful grows using organics and a wick system. I am always looking for a good soil.

sorry, bill, that was a bad joke! i had made a comment earlier in the thread about how "mojo" is not necessary to grow a nice plant or something similar and then i was at the supermarket and spied a big pile of this stuff. here we have a company marketing using an allusion to mojo. to me it is like the term "green thumb", leading folks to believe you've either got "it" or you don't. i think i have seen a product called "plant magic" somewhere. and, of course, miracle grow. it's all hype and marketing. i've gotten to the point where if i see any hype in the promotion or labeling i just move on. the companies that do that are most likely promoting an inferior product that won't sell well on it's own merit.

this "mojogro" for example. i went to the msds on it and it is mostly sawdust. they claim that it is a superior medium loaded with "nutrients and beneficial bacteria".

so they took a pile of sawdust, gave it a nutrient bath and then threw a handful of mycos on it. stuffed it in a sack labeled "mojogro" and sold it in bulk at high prices. i'm obviously in the wrong end of the business.

sawdust alone is a lousy medium as it is mostly cellulose which will break down during the course of a grow. as it breaks down it ties up nitrogen and brings ph way down.

why can't people sell an honest product at a fair price?

i wouldn't mind one right now. load that baby up with some 6 shot. but i'm thinking about a nice over and under 20ga. or maybe just a big rock. i seem to be fairly effective when i go primitive.

i don't know about the bears eating cannabis but i'm positive i saw one putting some in a blunt.

and some of them are snorting quack!

Fantastic sensor package

Fantastic sensor package

Just posted this to grow room designs but had to share it with my PPK brethren:

Just ran across this new device the Sensordrone. Its a small device packed with Temp, Humidity, Light intensity, an infrared non-contact thermometer and 3 different gas sensors.

It connects to your smartphone over bluetooth. Wanna monitor O2, CO2 levels and light intensity? The are many apps already written and more on the way.

I can see this as being must have device for anybody like us.

"(btw does the heat from your window acs go into the shop?"

sorry, mcfly, i missed this the first time. yes, they exhaust into the building. but the building is huge and has big windows and a large electric overhead door. i don't think heat is going to be a problem.

The next 6 days will be a great test for your new system, D9. Gonna be above 98 every day around these parts. But jeez, with 5 bangers in the room, I think you will skate right on through the haze....oh, I just remembered you aren't burning the 6K yet, I guess.

nope, not operating the room yet. not quite finished building it and have a bunch of other stuff to finish at the old place.

probably next week but i think i will stall a little with this weather like it is. i'm seeing groups of deer walking around in broad daylight going to creeks and streams. individual trees are yellowing on the hills around me. the lawn is all but dead.

i will still flower at night though. yesterday we had high 90's as a high but low 60's as a low. the room at mid day is still cool inside with no ac's on. i used a lot of insulation.

i will do a test soon though.

Lights at night is a total no-brainer and I often wonder why anybody does the opposite regimen. With my place, sometimes (like in this heatwave) I still fight the heat all night til 2 or 3 am. I have a central a/c unit and window bangers to boot and it still creeps up to unacceptable if I'm not vigilant. Just glad I don't live in Arizona!

In Florida, I do it daytime (lights on) in the winter, because the house A/C doesnt cycle at night.. it's in the 60s>40s most the time Dec/Jan/Feb/March/April (we are COLD).. then back to night time, in late spring, when it goes down to a balmy, 74>84F +/- & 80 - 90% RH at night time.

Change subject: D9, President of the Pound a Week Club, do you think bud that usually runs 78 days would be 'as good' at day 48? am only gaining weight after a point? red tricomes??!!

snook, i think i am prejudiced against taking any bud early and so must recuse myself to avoid a conflict of interest and the appearance of impropriety lest those reading come to erroneous conclusions about my motivations cultivating weed.

seriously, though! i let mine run as long as possible because i think it not only produces more weight, going long develops a more complex high and taste/aroma with the strains i have tried.

maybe there are true "fast" strains out there but i haven't run into any yet. i think 9 weeks is fast.

how about some pics of those red trichs?
