I would add that my last fem plant gave off a scent even as a tiny seedling. I would open then small starting tent and there was detectable musky odor as soon as the second leaf set appeared.

Lovely colas ulmw!
What's your feeding regime and nutes? Your plants all look almost too healthy even in late flower, mine almost always show some deficencies or burn.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers

Some cannabalise leafs faster than others. I just watch my trichs and harvest by trich readiness.

Nice looking nugs there ULMW, she's a frosty one for sure. Was this a regular seed or fem?

Greetings BeaverIslanders,
Thanks for the kind words and interest. In response to your question. Feminized seed. Hope that helps.
Happy growing!

Hi BeaverIslander,

Orient Express is our main hybrid based on vietnamese genetics, although it also contains yunnan indica chinese genetics, as stated in the description of the strain.

The Orient Express regular version is more vietnamese sativa dominant while the feminized version leans a bit more towards chinese indica phenos.

Hope you enjoy growing her and hopefully the smoke bring nice memories to your friend.
Thank you for the clarification dubi. I have ordered a pack of the "regular" seeds for him too.

Your "fem" seed turned out much larger than mine but the buds are starting to plump up a little now. I do have another "fem" coming along that I'll probably put it a 15-20 gallon pot.

I might try to get those "regulars" going this summer too. [

How much stretch should one expect from the OE’s? I have three specimens that were switched to 12/12 about 5 weeks ago at about 6 weeks old and 16” tall. Two of the plants are about 3’ and columnar in shape. The other is quite branchy and passing 4’ in height-seriously starting to challenge my vertical restrictions. I have already “crushed” some stems and bent the top 8-10” of stem over. Question is - how much more stretch?

Greetings Knothead,
5 weeks already, stretch must be done. :)
They should be full of bud pretty much too. 8 to 10 week flower time. Any photos? Pray that your garden is a going to deliver you a great Asian experience. Happy growing!

You are welcome BeaverIslander, thanks to you for supporting our work. :thank you:

Your first Orient Express fem looks like a compact Chinese Yunnan indica pheno. Glad to hear you got another feminized OE coming along and that you got the regular version to compare, a really interesting comparison worth to explore.

Welcome Knothead :)

Even the more vietnamese sativa phenos should stop the stretching after 5 weeks of 12/12.

Are you growing the feminized or the regular version ?
Feel free to post pics of your setup and your Orient Express plants, we will be able to help you in a better way  Best regards!

As usual my impatience got the best of me. One week later it seems lanky and Lilly have quit stretching. Buds are starting to swell and get a little aroma. Plants are from feminized seed and are being grown under 4 qb 288s at 135-150 watts each and 6 vero 29 d cobs at 50 watts each in a 4X4. Cri split between 2700 3000 and 3500. DWC with 2 plants in each 27 gal tote-holds about 17 gallons to the bottom of the net pot. Totes are pretty much full of roots at this point using mega crop at 5g per gallon with hydroguard. Around 800 ppm on the apera. Tried to get some pictures with my phone but it didn’t come out very good. Is it about time to reduce the ppms for the rest of flower?

Does the top growth on this OE appear normal? Just started with no changes to lighting or nutes. This is the only one of the three exhibiting this pattern and is one of the columnar habit plants

:help::help: Can you tell I’m a newb yet? 40amps I owe you one. I’m like those are 2 pretty random reasons- I know I don’t have any bugs and......so then I remember I was trying to take a photo a couple days ago and had put the timer on standby...no way I forgot to switch it back to timer mode. So I run home on my lunch break and guess what????? Three days of 24/0-how bad did I screw this up?
