True, but they are now fully incapable of writing the history they want...they can hate on hempys' experiences all they want, they are no longer a defacto authority by deleting, editing, banning, and last word posts...bird is out of the cage so to speak

I would say opiated thai sticks would have definitely been a thing.

There was lots of heroin going round these parts up until early 2000's and yes people would even spike their own as well as lace other peoples weed.

I think it would be foolish for people to think westerners were the first to mix opium and weed together!
No one said that it was never done, they are saying it was never done to tons at a time. Imagine soaking 70 tons of weed in opium water, that would be quite a task.

After seeing that video how they were consuming Opium by cooking it into that tobacco like plant and smoking it regularly. I think its highly possible that some small batches might have existed where cannabis was used soaked in Opium. Both opium and cannabis are grown commercial into that region.

But definitely not on a large scale.

I didn't see much of it over the years, when Thai was being imported in and most of the people I know that did smoke them were like me, they tried them and preferred the normal Thai.

I often wounded, why did they opiate them, the only conclusion I could think of over the years was to get more people hooked onto harder opioids.

Is there any chance it was opiated after it landed down under?
That is a good question and that could have happened too but reading people seeing them in other countries also tells me it happened in the Golden triangle.

The plants were being grown in the golden triangle next to the opium they turned the opium into heroin in the same area, I kinda lean to the early water being used.

Opium and cannabis were the main source of income for these tribes, and having both crops there makes more sense.

no lack of knowledge of how things worked in thailand told you that ,
you guess they grew export weed in the golden triangle ,
you put a few guesses together to come up with your end story ,

if anyone put anything on those sticks , it was not in thailand where they were made out in isaan,
where btw , they didnt grow opium and make heroin,
you even say they looked different and were not even the same size ,
can you explain why the very best herb around would need opium added to it ??
just because they wanted too??

your proof of them making thai sticks is a clip about opium,
where they show one tall plant , which was actually growing in the country next door ,
not even in thailand , and there was no mention of thai sticks , or anything else to lend credence to your story , somehow u think u proved something there ,
more likely you proved it wasnt happening , or it would have been mentioned ...

cannabis was not the main source of income for those people , opium was , it made a lot more money than cannabis ..
if u can make 100 bux from your land , or 5 bux in a season from 2 different crops , which one would you take??
you cant guess things and turn them into reality im afraid ...

hempy was sitting in australia and received something he was told was an opiated thai stick ,
how is that experience of anything that happened in thailand ??
he has made up the rest of what you read , its not hard to see ,
you are welcome to read it all and then try to find some evidence of folks in thailand making opiated weed to export , you wont find any , because it wasnt a thing ,
you are only here to defend hempys honor , there is no need he is a big fella and can look after himself ,
we dont need bouncers and body guards here mate ...

Here is 2 kinds of poppies I grow. It is legal to grow in Canada but don't get caught incising the pods, that is illegal. I have order poppy seeds from out of country and had to sign for them at the postal office. I grow them because I like the flower. The lighter coloured ones are some I have been growing for 30 years, they are a Nepalese crossed with a hen and chicks. The chicks part has disappeared but have loaned their color to the Nepalese. The other poppy is called Black Swan.

I'm not sure why they would chose to mix the two(cannabis and opium) together. I could possible see it from a personal perspective but for a commercial use, I don't know. Why?

My neighbor is a ~70 year old guy. He served in Vietnam. He says all the Thai was opium laced.
thats it then ,, we dont need to debate any further , some old guy has solved this for us ,, hahaha ..

we see this statement all the time , yet there is no evidence at all that proves it,
foreigners in foreign lands tend to have no clue what is going on unless they spend a period of time there and open their eyes and minds to exotic cultures etc ,
some never quite get there , others seem more open and fit right in quite quickly,
soldiers , not terribly well is often the case ....
