thanks for the info-

1.so no special grow cfls.
2. 24 is ok-except if you got mother plant then 18/6 is alright
3. I have since seen the scrog method-looks cool-pipedreams 150 grow
4.ideally hps would eb est for bud-but cfl and t5 have been used-w/ less productivity most likely eh?

i have dealt w/ t5 and vho before-the vho i had were like the size of reg. flours-I'll have tocheck my current set up and see if its ho/or vho or just reg t5-but they are a much smaller diameter-how come it seems no one really uses metal halide?-diff spectrum or something?

thanks for the info again

No problem. :) Voodoo in the San Diego Finest Cuts thread in the California section of the US forum uses CFLs to veg and flower. I think he has a grow thread in the micro grow section as well. You should check his stuff out. :joint:

I read this article a long time ago and it convinced me to grow in a DWC system. And let me just say that if you are growing in dirt and are leary of switching to hydro because of cost, then you need to try one of these setups. Its super cheap and the results are a huge improvement over any dirt setup I have ever seen.

Just try it with one bucket and one pump........

Its no joke....

I tried this method and got slimed roots. Dwc systems are finicky in my opinion. Needing water chillers and resivior change outs weekly. Too much work. Nothing is easier then growing in rockwool. So easy!

This looks sweet. Nice thread. Got a question though:

Once the roots start to get bigger, do you lower the water level to the bottom of the roots?

yup just like dr d said, keep the water as high as possible. The only problem with this method is having to change the water out all the time. But if your not running a large amount of plants you shouldnt have a problem. just make sure you stay on top of the water changes. the plants will love you for it.

Hey guys nice thread. I'm thinkn about going from a 10g tub to a 5g bucket..just had a quick question. What is that tube used for coming out of the bottom of the buckets. Not the airline tubing but the bigger tubing. Is it just to see what your water level is at? Thanks.
