......I have thrown the 4/20 Growers and Breeders Cup for 3 years now........the first year was just a group of friends and internet entities who came together from all over to toke and enjoy Amsterdam as they compared buds they had grown.......The second year was a bit busier over at the AMP studios where we had about a hundred people show up and enjoy the event over 5 days which turned out to be a bit long and ended up costing me quite a few grand which I have not re-couped from the last cup back in April this year where I almost broke even and we had about 2-300 people show...

....Sure it would be nice to make a couple of bucks from the event......but that was never really my aim although my pockets are not bottomless and I must try and make the event at least as profitable as being able to cover the overheads......and this year we will have some SERIOUS overheads.....ten grand plus for starters going for the rent and running costs for the venue........and maybe twice that amount going on good entertainment if we can book it......there are so many other overheads the mind boggles..........

.......It's a unique event..........and ideally suited for any cannabis grower or breeder......

glad to help lighten up your day. oops, i can't help myself, i am so punny today

yeah, but all you have to do to 'extract' the hash, is knock the trichomes off and press them together....

and that is why they call it hashish and not weed. i have yet to see a block of hash growing on a plant. or for that matter a tree with bottles of jack daniels growing on it. bud is bud and hash is what u get after processing the weed, whether by shaking or water extraction

Will there be additional Guest Passes available on Seedbay if they all sell out?

January 2005, I was looking for some Sour Diesel cuts... and got hold off a stinky Sage 'n Sour pheno... that finished just before and was dry on the last day of the deadline... being the best weed I've had ever grown I loved to share it with the world and entered it in the 420 sativa growers cup... though I didn't attend the event... for I was out off town for the most part... I did meet quite a lot of the IC gang... in the Katsu... at Gypsy's seedstore and an after party at Soma's... I had a real good time and felt like a visitor in my own town... and I learned a lot from all the sharing of expierence... I quit smoking just before and by rolling pure weed joints it helped me stay away from tabaco... I feel so much healthier...

What I'm trying to say is that so many things came together... making this a memorable experience... the event and the forum have a strong synergy in building this community... its cool to take part in... and open to anyone!

So even if you're a small time closet grower like me, there is so much to gain from participating... without needing to spend 175 on a guest pass or anything... yet, the 300 for a judge pass looks to be a far better deal... but due to my low budget, I might just opt for 1 day pass of 30... and check the event schedule first to see what day suits me best... hope to see y'all again... a merry Xmas and a happy 2006!!!

That is true, and I was just having a bit of fun...
However, in fun as well, I have never seen a block of hash that was not grown on a plant... Not in block form mind you... :D
A Jack Daniels Tree... that would be interesting...

yeah its true that the judges passes are the better deal, at least they were last year. this time it will depend on how many sativa and indica entries are made. if one is unlucky the indica pass could be worth only 6 g, that is if the indica catagory has the same amount of enties as last year. we will see, maybe there will be a few more indica entries this time. i hope so, otherwise the indica judges woun't face much of a challenge eh? nor the hash judges for that mater. we will see...

· Grow seminars with Q&A sessions conducted by select expert breeders. Times TBA.

· Unlimited boat travel on the 420 Boat around Amsterdam, visiting participating companies and coffee shops. Times TBA.

· Welcome ‘goodie bag’ including loads of cool stuff to augment your 420 Cup experience!

· Auction. Your chance to bid on lots of cool stuff. TBA

· Escorted visit to one of Amsterdam’s top grow shops which caters to both commercial and personal use growers with tour of their active grow room.

· Daily Wake ‘n Bake (location(s) TBA)

· Daily ‘door prizes’ to be given away at The Sugar Factory. Must be present to win. Time of daily drawings TBA.

· Option to join the ‘Trichome Riders’ bicycle tours. Participants receive a special Trichome Riders t-shirt.

· Other activities TBA.

and If the poll is any indication of peoples intentions, quite a bit more than 6 grams... http://www.icmag.com/ic/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=244

But I guess it is all in how you look at it...

I personally don't see participating in an event, and judging a competetion as merely a 'weed deal' where I am purchasing 6g for $300...

If it were merely a drug deal, then you are right, $50 / gram is quite a bit overpriced...

ofcourse Grat3fulH3ad, you are absolutly right. the pass includes the whole event. just that last year a judges pass got you a sample of everything entered, which turned out to be somthing like 30 entries of buds and 3 entries of hash. this year there will most probably be more hash entries as the amount needed to enter has been halfed to 7.5 g and according to the poll there will be more entries this time of buds too, so it remains to be seen what the proportions of indica/sativa will be. but like you said this is not about scoreing, lol. its about the cup. so i've sent off for 2 judges passes 1 indi and 1 sat for me and a friend.

if i got 6 sample of indica and someone else got 15 samples of sativa and we both payed the same price for a judges pass think i would be pissed. this is just about the judging not about the what you would get with a guest pass.

headman, the Hash Judges passes cost less than the Indica and Sativa Judges Passes,
€215 for the former against €255 for the latter two, and the hash entries should be at least doubled this year in respect to last year.
