Ive no doubt there will be money made by GN from this years cup but what you need to realise is this is not the 1st and GN has poured his own money into this consistantly for some years now, no one else seems to be rushing to put their hands in their pockets to fund an event even close to this and i personally hope he does make a good deal of £$£$£$£$£ because it will only mean he has more to get started for the following year because proof has shown it to be getting biggfer and better each year............
I personally grow small, trained clones under a 400w and providing i pull 30 gramms off of a standout plant i shall be parting with it for the cup, i have figured it to mean i have to smoke 0.08 gramm less a day in order to skim 30 gramms for the 2006 cup.
Having everyone toking my weed and seeing it in the results table (even if its last) is gonna be a buzz on its own.

I agree with you more 100%. Thats exactly how i feel. I take extreme proud in my grow, strive to grow the best possible weed. And This I enjoy sharing with everyone.
The 420 is such an event whereby making it possible. If I can help to make it all the succsess that it has to be and will be then of course I will help as much as I can.
This is our site and our event of which we are all members of. I am very proud to belong to it.

Headman.....why the negativity from you. YOU of all people know alot of the expenses involved, The Sugar Factory is NOT cheap, the live entertainment planned is NOT cheap, all these things add up, and with most events which look and plan to make a profit, Gypsy would be ever so pleased to just simply break even....something he has not done previously when the funds recouped barely covered 1/2 of the expense of putting on the Cup. This is not the HTCC where an overwhelming PROFIT is a must, just an event that hopefully, by securing top live entertainment and a spacious nice venue will be the event it deserves to be which recognizes the growers and breeders and one which actually has interesting, appreciated, and worthwhile events that every attendee enjoys.

Btw, you stated we charge the breeders/seed co’s $500 for EACH entry….that’s wrong, $500 (450 euros) covers UP TO 3 ENTRIES. HTCC charges 1,500 EUROS per entry, unless you have a sponsor booth, then they reduce it to 750 EUROS per entry…we know, Gypsy just paid that to enter this past cup.

Let’s see…..cost of venue, cost of entertainment, individual (one-of-a-kind) glass awards, welcome goodie bag for all guests filled with approx 65 euros/$75 worth of gifts, t-shirts (free to Trichome Riders), keepsake laminants, daily door prizes, cost of private charter for canal boat trips (unlimited for 3 days), table rentals, cost of private security staff, and that’s just part of the expenses involved in hosting such a fantastic event which has grown by leaps and bounds since it’s inception 3 years ago.

If this is how you feel, go by the shop and express that to Gypsy....justify to him in person your thoughts which you've expressed here. Is only a 5 minute scooter ride.

Here, here! Why would we want complete strangers whom we know nothing about and who doesn't know dick about us judge our hobby? We learn and grow together, and Gypgy's event gives us the once in a lifetime chance to pass our pride around to those that have watched it grow and tell us what they think of the finished product - hopefully giving us a well deserved pat on the back for a job well done. I value my friends' opinion over a stranger's.

You've had all year to fine tune and dial in yer grow with the finest genetics in the world and you can't come up with an ounce to judge? Every closet grower I know here in the states has a dozen jars of their special smoke, in spite of the ease and constant availability. Someone is constantly dropping off smoke to try and offering for sale, to say that it is everywhere in the dam and not here is humorous, childish and riduculous. Anyone can buy, smoke and judge bagweed - but not everyone can share their own with friends and experience the appreciation of our peers.

You want to gripe about an on once of bud? At the end of the year I pull out my grinder/keif stash and pack Christmas presents of 10 grams for each of my friends - that's KEIF - how many ounces does it take to make that? Gimme a break please and for once acknowledge the money, time and effort your gracious site host has invested to give us all this chance to party and share our bud with our best friends, instead of trolling and bitching about sharing an once of bud with friends.

If you have no intentions to enter - stay out of the thread, why post and bitch about something you have no inclination or desire (capability - skill?) to even be part of.

I must say it was really a pleasure for me to get the chance to enter my best weed at the last cup in the growers cat. for free (!) and it was nice to see that a lot rate it as high quality, thanks again to all judges I was unlikely not in person at the cup and Gerrit receive my 3´rd place. After asking two weeks later it was the confirmed second place .. *lol* But shit happend So I think it was a really nice festival and a lot of guys have experienced a great party! I will enter again this year and like to ask if I could enter as a company in the breeder category and entering my samples with accreditation from a well known seed bank but all under my name. For sure I know it cost money, but I like come to next cup in person and if I must also pay in the grower category to get into the location .. there is no big different

But here we go .. @Rez: Hey men .. we didnt know each other and you also dont know cloudz, or? Why you and a lot others of you putting blame on him by his asking for a free entrance?! It is his free thinking and he like to ask, where is the prob? Could anybody from you "big guys" belive that a really good and well known grower from germany has not so much money .. no car, e.g as you? Why it is interesting if he sells his weed or not? I am sure you never get any money for weed that you grow by yourself

So my meaning is that he is free to ask and hopefully he get a clear wording from Dutchgrown or Gypsy, or I am so wrong in this?!

Overall: I like to say thanks to get the poss. to enter my weed at the last Cup! Thanks Gypsy, the Cup is a great Event (!!!) and I really appreciate your ideas and powerfull activities to the global seed/growing scene. (btw .. would be nice to receive the long awaited second chapter of your IC Mag as I am one of the first long term subscribers by paypal )

Nevermind .. I would be really unhappy didnt meet cloudz at the next cup and don´t getting a taste of his growing skills, because of maybe a "money leak" on his side? btw..it´s not alone the entry fees .. Its the hotel and the travel cost .. let us say .. overall min 500-600USD .. at this time I know many people who can not spend this money, because they have to "overlife" the month! o.k, yes they could sell his weed .. but this is something we do not want *lol*

i agree with cloudz and thats my opinion, you are entitled to yours. maybe you can explain to me how 200-300 people are going to enjoy the entries when only 90 people maximum can be judges. probably less, some will buy all 3 passes. so to all of you who want to share what you grow, maybe a kilo would be more appropriate to send here. and by the way, a dutch oz. is a 100gr.

now don't get me wrong, i know that gn has lost $ on the previous events and been taken advantage of, and no doubt this one will be the best one yet.. he is entitled to make a profit for all the time and effort that has been put in. the htcc is a fraud. it is only about the $ and giant ego's. the 420 cup is a much better representation of what is happening in the real world. it is not about 30gr of weed, it is about doing the right thing. which in this case is any grower who enters should receive 1 guest pass.

As to being a 'big guy',don't make me laugh.
You should live my life for a week,and deal with my balance sheets and Problems....the only thing 'big' are the (figurative) fires that I seem to be constantly extinguishing.

If he sells his weed,then paying a door fee shouldn't be an issue.
(Generally,if you can afford to grow weed,a simple entry fee to help cover expenses shouldn't be an issue.)

Rez: I'm not rich,guy,I don't know what you're thinking....but I'm not 'dirt poor',either....
I've sweated the costs of this trip quite a few times in the past,and it's always worth the coin,whatever the cost.
Sacrifices sometimes have to be made,and this is a leisure activity,not a lifesaving course,so....it's an option....to attend,or not....
And "overall,$600.00" is less than what I usually spend on airfare,alone.
Add a decent four-star hotel....and good food....Try $3000+ for the trip....
Oh,and the theoretical 'value' of the weed we enter?
You don't want to know,and since I don't sell it,I won't make you blush with the hypothetical specifics.
So,do I have a lot of sympathy for a $500-$600 outlay for a little vacation,plus a zip or two?
Fuck,no,I don't.

And if you went to Willie Woertels coffee shops in Haarlem you will get more, Because if you buy large quantities they give you extra.
Not sure exactly but its always a pleasure to go there. Especially as the quality of Nols weed is always the best.

willie wortels gives u 25% extra when purchasing a larger quantity. buy 10gr and get 2.5 more as your bonus. sorry to hear that rez will not be coming over, i have been sampling his sssdh grown from seeds. well done old boy.
