Off the shelf retail store screw-in LED and CFL bulb comparisons

Screw In Led- what this whole thread is about.

I always thought SIL stood for
"Standard Industrial Lighting",
but I knew it referred to these things.
(although I guess they're more "commercial" than "industrial"?)

PS. I don't think I like the dimmable bulbs.
To me that means more circuits, more heat and less light.

Half my bulbs are non-dimmable anyway and I can't dimm them.
I'd rather just unscrew some bulbs.

Flipped to flower a week ago.

:woohoo:

plant looks good! as a result of perusing mr sparkle and blynxy's work lately, i can't help but feel you're under-utilizing that space--i couldn't un-see the 5 gal bucket underneath! :) made me think "mother/clone spacebucket." or maybe some type of tiered/veg situation?

then i started thinking about a vertical sog or scrog. and so on.

sorry...had ghost train haze, chocolate, and energy drink for breakfast  hey, it's the weekend. good luck dude! :peacock:

**9 gallons of soil?!

I do have another 18" available to raise the light to accommodate the stretch but I think next time I'll remove the milk crate to lower the cooler 12".
It would be nice to grow a plant without having to top it.

I know nothing about sog or scrog but I'm sure I'd kill a lot of plants trying to figure it out.

I'm trying to keep it simple.

Well I figured you can't have too much ??

I'm thinking I've got lots of happy roots.

I'm not too concerned about efficiency, just getting a plant to harvest is my goal.

The 5 gallon pail is my CO2 generator which I get to drink after it's done fermenting.

I have no fans, just a hole in the door at the top and bottom.
I'm using 270 Watts including the old school 4' floro's. (which I will replace with SIL's when they burn out.)

If you want more space, google “blowoff hose” with regards to an airlock replacement. you can put that bucket anywhere ya like, run a piece of .5” tubing from the vent, drill a hole to match the tube and run the tubing into the cab stuffed in a 1L bottle of water.

My yeast is always too happy and blows through the air locks, so remote blow offs tend to work better. :)

From looking at those buds, I don't think they care that you don't know how many watts. Looking good!

Had the parts for a while, finally got around to starting assembly on the 4 socket by 4 socket fixture for the 2' x 2' tent. Now I just have to wire it up. It's 22" x 22" for good coverage of the entire canopy.

Filled with 10w 5000k she'll be great for veg(40w/sq ft), switch out for mostly 3000k 15w SILs and she'll be good for flower(60w/sq ft).

This is the second one I've built from the nailing strips. I also have a 2 socket x 5 socket in the 18" x 30" tent.

I wish I'd discovered the hardwood nailing strips before I built my first SIL fixture. That one's a 5 socket x 5 socket with a frame of softwood 2x2s. It works just fine, but it's a lot heavier and bulkier.

Approx $3.50 for the wood, just over $30 for the sockets.

SIL FTW

Where did you "discover" these nailing strips, and what makes them special?
