can we re-hash the knocked-over tent idea?

cutting your vertical tent in half with shelf is a good idea, nice ideas with lower part giving benefit to upper shelf root zone, other goodies from terpene.....the only glitch i see is with two bushy scroggy canopies there'll be a higher overall RH that id need to look at.

F-E idea with big bushy tall, screened -in on a rotator, lights up/down the poles AND Sil on the ceiling sounds too fun to not do, thats later

howeva............32x32x60 tent on its side(i happen to have space for that) is insanely goodly idea.

besides the 32 i have 2 other sq.meter tents. if i lay the 32 down it'll go to a bud's house, im only doing 2 in flower at my casa due to regs and other issues, so maxxing each one without lengthy veg is key

hearkening to comments earlier about wattage/spacing/quantity/running separate timer for a possible blast of another 10-60w? per plant during high noon(DropThatSound)........

what ive been going for, not due to research but ....uh, whatever, intuition maybe....is a high volume of 10w and lower with interspersed(smartly) higher watt and various colors. i started out with(3x3x6 tent) 3 fixtures, each with max. possibility of 33 socket points each.

yar, thatsa bunch. let alone using Yadaptors. 10w each would be 1k Sil in a sq.meter tent. with a count of 16 in 1 gal pots the most ive ran was around 400-410.....too much, which i think led me into a nasty spiral of PM due to VPD due to the plants getting too much lite w/o taking into consideration the negatives and my ass not being able to keep up with a 30 plant sog(2 tents). and having an environment begging for Putrid Mustache to come on in.................a mistake that im still paying for 5months later.

the point of my barbaric yawp is the sky is the limit on these Sils. with wattage flexibility, coupled with their size and the ability to macgyver any fixture using various sockets/power strips/DIY ropelite.......CFL still has a role in this, there's not much research into thc/cbd/terpene profiles between HIH/CFL/Sil that ive found(havent looked hard though)...but i ran CFL this same way back in the day and there is a difference in the flower betwixt the two. cant name it, cant say whos better/worse, but thats not the point at this point. the point is the perceived difference. Sil is denser i think, i got that far....:) with CFL you can get some color variance, 4200k.....the 3000s......havent found SIL in 5k or 65k, one or the other cant remember.

thanks for graciously reading my ramble ;)

Five Ace A5 Haze x Malawi fems vegged under 20/4 and now in 11/13 under a 2'x2' screen and 90w of screw in LED just starting out:

Ace's Pure Purple Haze (the purple selection of Ace's Oldtimer's Haze) is an 18-26 week flowering line (the above image was taken at 26.5 weeks) which leans most toward the purple Columbian side of the Haze line. In an effort to cut down flowering time and more specifically, transitional stretch into flowering - Ive switched my veg from my normal 20/4 to 14/10. I’ve noticed my friends who run 22/2 have longer stretch period than those under 18/6 and thought extreme sativa stretch might be more due to lighting conditions as equatorials don’t see longer than 13.5/11 in veg. My theory is the plant just takes longer to receive the signal to flower as it hasn’t evolved to handle longer photoperiods.

I’m already vegging the pure purple hazes in 14/10 and plant to for their whole life and then toss them under 11/13 as normal and see how many weeks it takes them to flip to flowering. Im used to 6-6.5 weeks which is my normal time under 20/4 veg, my friend just saw 8 weeks under 22/2 veg. I'm betting they’ll show flowers in 4 weeks. Due to the fact that I am decreasing the daylight integral they would be seeing during veg (14 hours of daylight is roughly 70% as much overall light as 20 hours with the same lighting intensity), I have stepped up to flowering brightness in veg to make up for the lack of hours. This means instead of vegging at roughly 500-700umol growing up to 1000umol, I will be starting at 750umol at the ground and keeping the veg canopy at roughly 1800umol. Hopefully they'll stay nice and "squat" with that much light intensity, but seeing as how literally no one has tried this with pure hazes, its time to guinea pig it.

picture.php

When they hit 10-12" tall, I will be flipping the 6, shoving them under a screen and running them in my little LED cabinet. Its gonna be Haze mayhem as they'll be sitting next to the screened A5 Haze x Malawi. Who said you can't monocrop hazes in a tiny box?

Terp..

That is outside of the box thinking. Awesome and quite clever. The long flowering kind of made me shy away from them. But maybe there are possibilites now. The ACE seeds...quality..

Do you see less amber due to leds bulbs?

You can do an inexpensive grow with CFLs. But don't waste your money on those dinky ones. Get to a light bulb store and buy the equv. 250 watt bulbs for about $20.

You will definitely see and be embarassed at how poorly you treated your plants.

Hi :tiphat:
The GSC is around 3 weeks in flower and as you can see I had to supercrop, she is now heading back up
The two unknowns are approaching their last two weeks.

So I just plugged in the fluorescents.

I will post a picture in a month.

It's been 11 1/2 weeks and this is all I've got.

My seedling never got any bigger so I'm chopping it down early and starting over.

I bought MG soil, perlite, vermiculite and lime.

This last attempt was an epic fail.

Here's hope for the next grow.

PCBuds, autos are really picky about the first 3 weeks of life. They reward you generously when it's like a day spa for them. :) You'll want a higher quality soil than MG, you and your plants will thank you. There are a number of pre-made soils which will work fine, I suggest reading through the soil forum stickies and doing some searches. :)

I've been testing ones like this from Ming & Ben. I don't like the footprint of the 50w COB so far. Mine are also non-dimmable. The plants seem to like the "full-spectrum" blurple lighting in veg anyway. I also do not like using 1 heatsink/fan per cob. I'm definitely interested in seeing a working micro-cab with these, but thinking driver + strip leds would perform better for the price.

Has anyone found SILs in far red? 780?nm Would love to play around with shorter flowering night hours. :)

It's too late, I already mixed the soil and my seed has popped.
I'm planting it tomorrow.
