Even though round 2 seemed to be a chore, it still turned out a nice crop. But round 3 looks really exciting, I can't to see it in full swing. I really like that Scroged outdoor patch, the scrog really worked well in the full sunlight, and you are correct, the hours are just about to get shorter and flowering should begin real soon. That will also be really nice to watch. Best of luck.

The flavor is all there for sure. Yummy sweet candy aroma on the nug and smoke when it hits your palate.

btw i picked up some guano to see if i can boost the budding a bit. that PU1 is doing stellar as it is. i'll try to get a pic up tomorrow, but the hairs are longer and the buds bigger than the grapefruit x trainwreck switched at the same time. so fucking excited to see her in full bloom!

but before i post it, i understand not everyone might not know what a NFU is, or let alone where it came from. so i wanted to give a quick NFU lesson.... a history lesson if you will!...

You take a 16 bucket DWC filled with Purple Urkles - grown em 10 weeks - and harvest.
Over 2 years of this, the occasional good seed was found.
i really liked the smoke, so i started keeping any viable seeds i found.
Round 1 in the bunkbed actually started with the popping of one of these Urkle seeds. funny thing is, back then i didnt know Purple Urkle could ONLY be acquired through clone form. which yes, i have, and have had for many years. shes my #1 girl. i heart Urkle.
That solo germ was the start of the life of what we have come to know as NFU. or "nine fingered urkle" to some.
a "version" of purple urkle no-one else has.
In the first stages of her life, i had the feeling she was a boy and was very nearly to the point of cutting it down.. but then one morning i was checking the bed and found many hairs all over her.
i was stoaked.
The name NFU came from this first NFU having 9 fingers all over her. it wasnt just one random 9 finger fan. it was fan leaves, all the way into the bud. ive never seen that before on any Purple urkle before.
i knew i had something different.
At about week 5, she started smelling "different". The first thing that came to mind was strawberrys. i was reminded of DP's Strawberry Cough when i had grown her back in the day.
At week 6 she started purpling up really nice on the leaves. im sure the 30 degree winter days were helping the purple come through too.
But at week 7, things started going downhill. she wasnt in the right soil, and it was showing. the soil she was in was suffocating her. measures had to be taken, and she was cut down, and smoked.
the first NFU - i really really liked.
Im glad i cloned her... but....
its hard to pin point the taste and flavours when really its only me smoking it!
hence, the testers. so here at the end of round 2, i needed experiance tokers opinions on this girl!
Khaleel, Y, and shitake, be honest and brutal. i hope yas enjoy the testers package when they arrive, but remember this is a test strain. dont expect it to be the killer killer, and just be honest...
there are possibly 8 more NFU growing in round 3, and my boy Blazeoneup has a large NFU in his possesion too. so this strain isnt gonna dissapear too soon.
but round 4 is trying to lean original urkle side - for obvious reason.
its fucking quality killer.
i give NFU a Jay ranking of a 7 and a half out of 10.
she needs to be stabilized though, as she has the occasional seed.
breeders may be able to tell me if this NFU strain was backcrossed with Orignal Urkle, could it maybe take out small hermie tendencies?
but thats the life of the NFU....

i had noticed this early when i started smoking her, and the jar curing has helped toned this down though.. the Joint i smoked for this report was actually tasting better than all the others i have smoked.
heres hoping my testers get some nice cured buds. (each tester is getting a main NFU cola dried - they cure up the best.)
Head high? 1-10 [ 5 ] heavy eye balls though.Body high? 1-10 [ 7 ]
Potency: 1-10 [ 7 ]

While this is better than the usual bunk around here, its not the killer strain her sister is, and she is far from being anything other than just a good smoke.
Im not too sure where the late harsness comes from, but that certainly is a down point for me.
Original urkle is smoooth as butter going down, and all you taste is flavour. not the smoke.
the taste of the first few hits in the joint is great, but it doesnt last.
the joint loses flavour as she gets down to roach size.
the purple on the leafs started early, and looked promising, but the color stopped at the leafs and didnt carry onto the bud. sure, it looks badass, but im not trying to grow pretty fan leaves. lol.
All in all, i did enjoy having a strain noone else has, and its been fun. but i dont think i will keep her around too much longer though.
im not looking for average smoke. im looking for high quality keepers.

That's a bummer that the NFU is a sub par smoke. It had a great appeal, a unique plant with a nice sweetness. Maybe there is another method of growing her that would be more fruitful. Who knows, it would be cool to see you actually work on her. Either way I am sure you will do what is necessary with her.
