thanks Jaded & narstie,

So with this bulk, powdered citric acid, do you add it to the rez as dry powder or dilute it first?

Canna nitric's getting harder to find. wonder if they're discontinuing.

GHE do a blended Nitric / Phosphoric that iirc has good buffering qualities, citric is meant to be very bad/ or simply stops for whatever reason.

I like the Growth Technology (Phosphoric) pH- .. Always works fine, and is very concentrated. 1ml in 10 litres here, the Hypro brand I just got as a substitute needs 3ml per 10, the GHE is likewise a lot weaker than the GT.

Do you run phosphoric in both veg and bloom?

Yes, until I have a proper research setup where I can properly run side by side tests, i stick with simple solutions that work. If Canna do not make any recommendations about running Nitric in Veg and Phosphoric in F, then I am happy to continue as is and investigate what seem more useful routes. All our nutrient products are best guess compromises aimed to work with a wide variety of tapwater, luckily weed is a generally tolerant, easy to grow plant and we all can get away with a certain amount of "close enough" and still harvest nice bud.

Also, results vary from grow to grow and between plants, I just set up some amnesia and Casey Jones, must have done something wrong at one point as the casey sulked (leaves went funny, probably pH, forgot acid one day at a guess) ... But the Amnesia just soldiered on regardless.

Canna does actually do a veg (nitric) and flower pH down, but I always just used the bloom...not on seedlings though...

edit: just realised I'm talking nonsense (dont you hate that?) I use the phos to prep coco before seedlings go into it, I just dont pH the first 2 feeds when feeding seedlings...

Anyone use GHE 3 part with RO water? That's what I'm experimenting with now

Do you use 100% ro water?

Use ro water myself but i use a 70% ro and the rest normal tap water.

When i tried out 100% ro found the ph was very unstable so added some tap water to help buffer the ph.

Have you heard of the lucas formula? Thats based on gh 3part neuts and ro water. If you haven't heard of it there will be plenty of information here at icmag, lucas formula is popular other side if the pond.

Peace.

thanks buddy i was planning on using 100% ro then using calmag as a buffer should stabilize the ph.

Yeah I read about the lucas formula, but I already bought all 3 parts so gonna run with that for now and just read the plants.. any tips of using ro water appreciated. Do you ph after adding nutes or before?

I adjust ph after ive added all neuts and any adertives i might be using.

If you go with pure ro water then go extra extra easy on the ph down as it doesn't take much or you'll have a ph range of about 2 or 3.

Peace

Moon shine

Moon shine

Just wondered if anyone has used this product it's new round my way but a couple of us have been using it with great success. . In fact I have a friend running auto pot system with coco canna coco a+b and all the canna range , I am using plant magic oldtimes organic with hydrotops bactivator and moon shine and my growth rate is just as quick as his if not better and I'm soil

I recommend this product
Here is some info from there website
onshine is a brewed plant bio stimulant that is designed to promote impressive plant growth, health and terpene production in a variety of ways.

The first effect this illicit brew imparts is an increase in the cation-exchange capacity of your chosen growing medium. In increasing the amount of cations available to the plant at any given ph the fertility of the growing medium is increased, allowing nutrients and trace
elements to be more readily absorbed through the roots.

The second effect is to give the plant a good source of plant growth stimulators and amino acids. The growth stimulators include naturally occurring levels of auxin, gibberellin and cytokinin plant hormones which are readily used by the plant to regulate plant growth, cell
division in roots and shoots, bud growth and essential oil production.

Finally the unique formulation promotes the transport of sugars through the plant to the places they are needed giving a noticeable increase in smell and taste.

By using moonshine as directed in your feeding program you will notice your plants have better root systems with improved growth and stamina, giving you healthier sturdier and more disease resistance plants.

It has been reported that by using moonshine growers are noticing exceptional crop quality and yields. The higher sugar content (BRIX) has been shown to discourage insects, cutting down on pesticide use.

Moonshine provides plants with a greater resistance to cold damage and drought, is 100% biodegradable and contains no carcinogens or synthetic PGR’s.

Moonshine will not alter your E.C, is pH stable and can be used with any manufacturer’s nutrient program.

Moonshine is suitable for use with any growing medium, Soil, hydro system and NFT.

Big Benefits
● Over double previous root size.
● Spectacular hardier growth.
● Increased photosynthesis.
● Faster maturity and increased yields.
● Increased sugar content by up to 50%.
● Increased insect resistance.
● Contains no synthetic Plant growth regulators or silicone.

How to use:
Apply at the rate of 1ml / Ltr in your nutrient mixure from week 1 to flush for the full benefits to be experienced.
This unique product is unmatched in its effect. Once experienced there is no going back

Hey hemp have u tried this yet Bro @hemperor

Hey all....How do you go about adding silicon? I added 0.5ml to 4.5l of water and the EC shot up.

I ended up having to use the Canna organic/citric ph down. It made the rez smell like an old canvass tent and had to be adjusted every 2 - 3 days when the nitric keeps things in range for a week. If I turned everything off for an hour, a patch of little bubbles would form on the surface like it was fermenting.

Got some nitric back now. Whats the safe way to dispose of a bottle of acid?

Not 100% on this Harry but go to a field and dig a hole and just pour it in and cover up. Just don't pour down the drain as it will get into the water course.

Actually thinking a bit more on it you could pour it in a larger bottle with some water to dilute it or even some alkaline which I think milk/butter milk is to neutralise it.
