Damn, I wish my first grow had looked that good!

Have you given any thoughts as to when you're gonna harvest them, as far as cloudy to amber ratio?

Zeuss, Your grow looks great!!! :woohoo: Your buddy gave you great strains, that love potion :yummy: to die for man.As for stems on your next grow add a little more Nitro in veg for thicker stems, but I wouldn't worry about it with results like you got. I would give them a little more bud swell or what ever you listed before :bat: to stoned to remember :pointlaug and remember water only for the last to weeks. Way to go on your first grow, next the cure & wait :yoinks:  :smoweed:

Thanks for the compliments, everyone.

Once again, I will copy Sleepy's reply template.

UmphreyMcgee420 Thank you. They get frostier every day. I actually trimmed a few tiny branches that were at the very bottom of the plants with little popcorn buds. They definitely aren't ready yet, but these buds were definitely not getting enough light. Next time, I'm scrogging. No question. Those little popcorn buds are drying now. I'll let you know what they're like in about a week.

NiteTiger That's a very nice compliment. Thanks. I have justv recently begun to ponder my prospective trichome ratio. Since I have 4 of each strain, I think I may get a little scientific. I was thinking that I would choose at least one plant from each strain to harvest with minimal amber. The rest, I'm gonna be really patient with, and wait for a whole lot of amber. I want couchlock city!! :joint:

heavyTHC Yeah, my buddy really hooked me up. I'm lovin the love potion too! As far as the thin stems go, I will definitely add a little more N in veg next time, but as I mentioned above, I think my next grow will be a scrog, so stem thickness shouldn't be an issue. Also, my next grow is gonna be a reveg of these girls, so I think the stems will get much thicker before the next 12/12 flip. Check below for my current schedule.

Mr GreenJeans Thank you very much. Believe me, these plants would not look so great if it wasn't for people like you guys helping me along the way. Let that be a lesson to any noobs out there. I studied and researched on OG and this site for 6 months before attempting my grow. If you want good results on your first grow, you have to put in the time and dedication. I have come to realize that I really love horticulture. In fact, I learned so much about horticulture throughout this process, that I plan on starting a nice organic veggie garden in my back yard this Spring. I would love some nice, fresh, homegrown, organic veggies, plus now I won't have to wait until 5 am to get a bag of soil out of my car. "Howdy nieghbor. I'll tell ya, those tomato plants and pepper plants just love that Fox Forest Ocean Forest Soil".

Opt1983 Thanks man. It's funny, I wasn't being impatient at all until about a week ago, and it started to hit me. But I will not give in!! I want these babies to be at perfect ripeness. I didn't wait three and a half months to lose my cool in the last remaining weeks. They do look good though.

Here's the schedule:

I flipped to 12/12 on 1/28, so today is day #46. Here is what Reeferman lists for indoor finish times:

G13 x Black Widow 7-8 weeks (indoor)
Willie Nelson 10-12 weeks (indoor)
Love Potion #1 10-12 weeks (indoor)
Viper 9 weeks (indoor)

I'm about six and half weeks in, so, I'm gettin there. According to RM, the G13xBlack Widow should be ready in a week and a half, but they still seem small to me, so it could be longer. As far as the Willies and LPs, I'm about half way there.

G13-Just fed two nights ago with 2 tsps FF TigerBloom, 1 tbls FF Bigbloom, and 1/4 tsp Beastie Bloomz. (That will be the last Beastie Bloomz any of them get. It was the second time they got it) They've been taking about 5 days to dry out, so 3 nights from now, they'll get a plain water feeding, then one more fert feeding with the same as above, except replace the Beastie Bloomz with Cha-Ching. I always rotate ferts, water, ferts, water, etc. just as Fox Farms directs. After that, the G13s will be on plain water til harvest.

Willie Nelson and Love Potion #1-Fed two nights ago with same formula as G13 above. They'll get 4 or five doses of the Cha-Ching before they go to plain water.

Viper-Fed two nights ago with same mix as above. I think that I might be able to get them two more doses of Cha-Ching before I switch them to plain water.

That's the plan. I'm following Fox Farms soil feeding schedule pretty strictly. I have heard wondrous things about Cha-Ching. I can't wait to see what it does to my girls!!!! The Beastie Bloomz seemed to make them fatten up, but what the hell do I know. I have nothing to compare it to. And in case you missed it earlier in the thread, I bought the FF Tri-Pack a couple weeks ago, and it was too late to use the Open Sesame, so I have no opinion on that stuff at all.

Thank you everyone for checking in. Smoke em if you got em!!

Peace

Your feeding sounds good,I use DNF grow & bloom in every watering with a few drops of superthrive. I am using Dr H Big Bud,hydrostore said it kicks all others ass. :moon: but who knows :bat: I will see soon enough, at day 24 little buds everywhere on the AK & NL x BB. Back to your grow,do you have a loop to look at the glands of your G13,don't let the size determine how long to grow. As your other strains should be much taller (Stativa) to G13 (indica) just a thought once again Great Job!! :smoweed:

Superthrive rocks!! I used that stuff all throughout veg. I even used it for a few weeks in flower. I think it's best use was for transplanting. I soaked the soil in my growbags with Superthrive(2 drops per gal) and Liquid Karma(1tsp per gal), and the plants never missed a beat. As soon as they went from 8 ounce cups to 3 gallon growbags, they took off. I used the ST and LK from transplant until about a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the tip on the G13. I do have a Radio Shack scope. I also do know not to judge by size. But thanks for mentioning it. The G13x Black Widow are my only pure indicas, so they're only a foot tall. I have them up on a shelf for that reason.

You can kind of see my shelf at the top of this picture.

The Willies and Vipers are all Sativa, and I believe the Love Potion is a mix. I know about the size differences. But funny enough, if you had told me that 3 weeks ago, I wouldn't have known. In fact, I think that if you go back in this thread, you'll see me asking why my G13s were so small, and I had Indicas and Sativas mixed up. I've pretty much picked this knowledge up on the fly in the last few weeks.

Actually, after I made that post about the G13s not being done yet, I decided to trim a bud leaf, and examine the trichs. I was surprised to see some amber trichs. Not a ton, but a decent amount. I still think I'll squeeze in at least one feeding of the Cha-Ching, before I switch them to water. I might not have a full three weeks of plain water before the chop because of this, but I think they'll still be OK. I wouldn't mind letting them go extra long anyway, because I'm hoping for a lot of couchlock. So maybe I can get a full three weeks of plain water. We'll see.

By the way, while we're talking about trichs, how do people figure out these percentages they give for clear, cloudy, and amber trichs? Is trimming one bud leaf and examining that enough to give you a good idea? Should you take budleaves from each budsite, and examine them individually to get a better idea? I would say that the one budleaf I took from the top bud of my G13 had 60% clear, 30% cloudy, and 10% amber. Does this sound right? It seems a little early to me to be seeing 10% amber already.

Thanks for stopping by.

Yea the g13 takes about 3 or 4 weeks less than the others so that sounds right to me.As for checking trichs. I always start at the top as those are the buds you want. I'd say about 2/3 weeks til crop crop :yummy: There should be plenty of resin to give you some finger candy if you rub a few fresh buds. I think you will get the high you are looking for without letting it go to much longer, keep an eye on the trichs. dont let them go to far and start to droop and degrade. you are a long way from there. time for a blunt my friend be back :joint:

Just a friendly warning to any noob growers out there.

So you're thinking of starting a grow, and you're going over your shopping list to see what you'll need, and how much it will cost. As you start adding things up in your head, you realize that this might cost a lot more money than you thought. So you start to look for things on the list which you may not need. You see that you have carbon scrubber listed, but it's very expensive, and doesn't help increase yield or potency. So you think that you can get away without one. You buy some cheap, 24$ Wal-Mart Trueair odor remover. You ask your friend who gave the clones if these strains he's giving you are "low odor". He says yes. You have your grow in your basement, so you doubt the odor will travel all the way to the other end of the basement, and up the stairs, to the livingroom. Then one day you come home, and you smell it OUTSIDE, two feet from your front door.

:fsu: This was me, and my line of thinking. As the smell slowly started climbing the basement stairs, I got a little worried. When I smelled it in the livingroom, I began saving money to put toward a scrubber. The day before I got enough money, I could smell it on my front porch. Yesterday, I went to the hydro shop, and bought a blower, can filter, and flange. It took me a little while figuring out how to put it together, but I finally got it. Now my livingroom smells fine. The basement still smells a little, but I just hooked up the scrubber last night.

The point I'm trying to make is always make odor control a priority. Don't be like me, and try to justify not buying one because you'd rather spend the money on good ferts. No matter what reason you're telling yourself in your head, that you may not need some type of odor control.....you will. Take care of it before you even start for peace of mind. Don't wait until you can smell OUTSIDE your house. I was lucky, and addressed it as soon as I realized it. What if I was away for a few days? What if a nieghbor noticed it? I realize how lucky I was that it didn't turn out worse. Don't count on luck to save your ass like I did. Use your brain, and address odor from the beginning.....if you value your freedom.

If even one noob reads this, and decides that he/she will have to address the odor situation from the beginning, and not put it off until it becomes a danger, then I feel that I have done a good deed. Don't be stupid like me.

Thanks guys. I just think that this site is great for telling people all of the tips and tricks we have learned in growing, which we share so that others can grow greater amounts of more potent mj. But it's also a great medium for telling others of the mistakes we make along the way, so that they know to avoid them from the beginning. It's especially important to share these mistakes when they could be the difference between smoking great weed in your home, or spending years of your life in a prison. It really sucks that we have to hide our love of mj, but for the time being, that's the world we live in, so we should act accordingly. Good growing......and always be safe.

Peace

Very niiiice! For a first time too? Wicked stuff man! That Viper and Love Potion are definatly going on my 'future projects' list.

I've had a lot of people inquiring about grow bags, so I figured I'd post these pics. If you are wondering what the size of 3 gallon grow bags are to plan how many you can fit in your cab, this should help. I have three gallon grow bags. The hieght is about 12-13 inches. The diameter is 8-9 inches. Even though I say diameter, the bags can be molded into more of a square shape if you want. That is the beauty of growbags. They're not made of a solid material, so you can mold them to fit together tightly in any shape you want. I have a 4x4 cab, and I fit 16 spaced apart nicely for side growth. If I were growing all "donkey-dicks", and trimming my side branches in veg, I could have easily fit 25 bags in my cab :yoinks: (This is what I plan doing for my next grow. That, or a scrog). I hope this helps anyone wondering if growbags would fit their needs. Here are some pics:
