Is that you, TG? I would have never guessed it, but you bare a striking resemblence to Kim Jong Il.

:D Nope but I will have some big pumpkins next year. Couldn't come to escrow terms on the 200 acres...but I've got something better up my sleeve.....Zone 14 here I come

I was born in Zone 14, i LOVE that area/climate. people and plants grow great there haha. someday I shall return

the river would have been sick though. oh well, just gotta get another one with a river

Congrats, TG.

Lakes are nice. Private ones particularly. My personal preference is running/moving water... i grew up on the salt water and the tides do the trick, but a running year-round river is the absolute grail for me.

I am always looking for a spot for the family on a river.

My Oxidate finally arrived. Another supplier bites the dust.

TG: In what concentration would you recommend the Oxidate for foliar application?

what are you using the oxidate for nomaad?

this morning dew makes my plants look like it rained on them. is there anything else i can do besides shaking them off in the a.m. to combat this spreading bud rot?

I used 1/2 T per gallon when I did it. Like I said I did a bunch of other stuff at the same time but the PM didn't come back ...I also didn't burn my plants. I've had friends indoor torch their plants with Oxidate and I believe there is reports of the same on this site, too.

Place has water coming out of every crevice...springs, year round creek, private lake...full south / south west exposure and almost 100% flat..I didn't get the spot on the river because I was supposed to go out to Zone 14 !!

Oxidate will help prevent budrot, but as posted earlier in this thread, it will completely sterilize the plant. The baby goes out with the bathwater, so to speak as you're killing bad microbial and fungal life as well as bad.

I am using it on one plant, the bigger Bubbz who has PM all over the darker regions of the plant. I am going to hit once with Oxidate, then follow up with mycostop and some subtilis. This is where I wish I were brewing some nice fungal tea.

My plan for budrot is to remove the affected area and spray around the area with Oxidate.

I ordered mine from a spot that took forever to ship it. If you find a reliable California supplier, please post or PM it.

Next year.

Speaking of next year: No more beds in the light dep. It is a waste of dirt and locks you into where each plant is located thru the run... a lot more versatility is gained by individual pots. And pathogens in one pot are less likely spread from pot to pot as they are plant to plant in a bed.

That spot sounds amazing. what kind of trees do you have? If I could find river (a live creek with year round swimming hole would suffice) and redwoods, i'd be stoked.

I will be applying Oxidate at that dosage to a small section at the bottom of the plant before a broader application. thanks.

I learned that lesson the hardway too!! I now run smartpots (65's and 100's) in my boxes.. Big enough to get a decent yield, but small enough to manage/move by yourself if need be.

Keep up the good work Nomaad!

There are fir trees and white oaks. It isn't too far from where I'm at now but far enough that the climate will be drastically different and I'll be able to play with the long flowering ladies because I'll hopefully be out of ice country next summer and in Zone 14 with a private lake if every thing goes right which it is seeming like it is. Give thanks for organics and IC Mag good vibes!

Going to do my light dep in 100s next year and go for 1 pounders and try to get multiple deps in next year...

and try to get multiple deps in next year...

sounds like a plan. getting that early dep in is what separates the men from the boys. if I am going to be working from the buttcrack of march, i might as well be flowering something in april-may. Its not going to really hum like that June-July dep- there just isn't the sun for it- but it will be something...especially if there is a more pleasant spring next year.

I highly suggest fully documenting next years grow and make a book on growing big plants outdoors. With your every growing wealth of knowledge, professional pictures, connections, and ability to be a cunning lynguist I could see the book being lucrative across the globe even in places where they can't grow like this, just to look. Anyways just a thought....

Going to hook up 3 1K MH for the April / May dep.

This year I was like damn, if I had just took one extra tray of clones here or there I would have had multiple deps, so next year's goals are

1 - have a ton of healthy young plants ready to tear for the main garden

2 - plant ASAP in the final hole with light under cover

3 - multiple deps.

Thanks, Prophet, this plant that I love sure is powerful. I am lucky to have this chance to be the facilitator of its gifts.

TG: Yeahyeah- on all three points... having enough plants to give you options is SO important. I accomplished that this year to the tune of about 80% even when thrown a 99 out of nowhere in mid-July. Its going to be interesting when I no longer feel constrained by plant limits.

I am also going to rebuild my light dep hoops to be REAL greenies that will be heated and covered in April and May. It got real crowded real fast in the dome, which (if it exists) will next year be a square gabled structure, 24x24 and only 8 foot sidewalls. It will be easier to cover when the lights are on at night and will attract less attention from the neighbors and hopefully Code Enforcement as well. But if I am vegging the full season in their final pots, and the dep in their hoop houses, its possible I won't even need it and I can add another simple light dep structure for the early run and have the pool in that spot next season. All this assuming Lake County doesn't pass an ordinance making grows like mine verboten.

Here is where I see a good reason to vote yes on Prop 19. (I am still undecided, but this is a powerful reason in one direction.) 19 leaves it up to the counties. If it fails, there is a good chance that future initiatives will create tighter control at the State level. Blood is in the water and its plain for all to see how much money is at stake.

I'm still not fully endorsing Prop 19. But I am open to cogent arguments for either perspective and this one in favor.
