The turbine would not be in the creek. I'd probably create ponds of some sort and tap em, run poly to a generator box where there would be a special high pressure nozzle shooting the water at a pelton wheel. Ideally, multiple lines would lead to multiple nozzles hitting the pelton at multiple points.

I have dabbled in off-the-grid power and seen/partidipated in some interesting projects. But it will still be a pretty new challenge for me. Nothing is more location/environment specific... so whatever route we take will take shape as we assess the specific set of circumstances.

More on this topic as it takes shape. Right now, I am focused on getting pots filled, plants collected and plugged.

In the pre-season, I made it my mission to provide hundreds of cuts to all the folks who helped me out last season and now that is coming back to me. When I put out the word that I needed plants for the new project, much of what came back to me were leftovers of my own cuts. Sweet.

Nice you'd probably get by just fine on a 8 or 12kW ... my drying room takes 35 amps with the AC dehumidifiers etc.,

Mad props on on the prep work and changes done this year. I love the secret Garden great Idea plenty of space. Great Job on the set up. Look forward to seeing the results!!

Alright! Looking really nice, plants are getting ready to boost for sure! I'd let those Dreams do their thing bro, it won't be long...

The other variety (Pineapple Cough?) has perfect structure thus far...

Good job-

HL: what is the draw on the twister?

The ideal genny to run just the Twister off of is the Honda EU6500. You won't have any extra power to run anything else off of so a bigger one than that would be better.

I have lived off the grid for the last ten years and have a lot of experience with a pelton wheel and solar. You could definitely run one on the new piece for most of the year. Tons of water and tons of drop. No need to build ponds, small spring boxes do the trick. My pelton wheel only has one valve going into it but they do make them with up to four valves.

I agree at least 8k if you are running a lot of stuff for your trim scene as well as the Twister. 10-12k would probably be best or multiple smaller ones. I love those Honda EU genny's. I have a 1k, and two 3k's as well as a non EU 4500 and they are all great. For my house I have a 8.5k propane to charge my batteries. I will probably need to add another EU6500 to one of my spots if I am going to be running two Twisters back to back.

Maad, Ive lookied through the past few pages but dont see pics of the new garden. Can you post another? would love to see what your workin with before you start..

I thought about it some more, 8kW is too small..12 is the ideal size for ya IMHO. You'll be able to run your drying room constantly and a twister too with out having to give any thing up and also be able to run everything off of one disconnect. Price point wise, If it were me I would just buy a 25kW and know that I can do anything I want to do and more later on if the need arises...like what will you do if you want to run your drying room twisters and trim pro and only have a 12kW?? You'll have to turn something off...which is all bad when drying ganja...never want that air to stop flowing around the drying produce.

I guess it's a little different if you can bring power to the place next year though...

a bit curious on the black boxing method. Have you ever heard of putting something over the plant but leaving a hole ontop allowing sunlight above getting in, Preventing the sunrise and sunset from shining on the plant?

What purpose does this serve? R u saying that a plant will flower if you block out light coming from each side of the plant? If so I don't think that would trigger flowering as the plant will still be getting the same amount of light just not as intense.

that reminds me of this ozzie grower i met who told me up near perth they used to cover the buds in clear baggies to prevent them from getting pollenated. one of those off the wall sounding, "tricks". wrapping anything in plastic is a recipe for mold.

big props to onetime64 for his double doser system. The system is almost done. I have to finish up with the pH and ppm meters, turn the main zone into two smaller zones and hook up the back garden and the black box beds. I am very happy with the consistency of the watering from the 1/2" emitter tubing... you'd think it would be uneven, but it really spreads out nicely.

I can put a tube into a bottle or a bucket and it just feeds it. Simple as that. Really elegant system.

Also...big shout out to Fisher... who got suckered into helping move a LOT of dirt today. Much respect to you, my friend. I owe u a big one.

Hard. core.

im seeing my visions of one size fits all watering sprayers slowly dissipate into the reality of different sized plants need different sized waterings. if i could change it i would create zones for same cloned plants.

what is your solution to control different feedings to different plants?
