if you ask me evolutionists stoled the sequence of events from the creation theory.

No one asked you, but adult illiteracy is a terrible thing.
Evolution is scientific fact.
"Creation" is fiction/superstition/witchcraft/voodoo/delusion.
There is no such word as "stoled", except maybe in the Ozarks, just as there is no such thing as "creation".

God means power, look it up. There is an almighty power.to the bacteria inside of you ,you are there god and universe. Wake up.
We are very tiny and insignificant in the unfathomable grand scale of existing.maby your stuck on a ego trip. Humble yourself.
We are tiny and pathetic excuse of a being . Grow up man seriously.
All these facts in science that you cling to ,will most likely be wrong in the near future.
Seriously look into history the only constant is change and we are not alone in the universe. Simple.clear cut change and there is other beings out there.
Whats so hard to understand ?

The half-life of knowledge is the amount of time that has to elapse before half of the knowledge in a particular area is superseded or shown to be untrue. The concept is attributed to Fritz Machlup (1962). For example, Donald Hebb estimated the half-life of psychology to be five years.[citation needed]

The half-life of knowledge differs from the concept of half-life in physics in that there is no guarantee that the truth of knowledge in a particular area of study is declining exponentially. It is unclear that there is any way to establish what constitutes "knowledge" in a particular area, as opposed to mere opinion or theory. In addition, knowledge cannot be quantified and falsification of a doctrine is hardly comparable to the exponential decay process that atomic nuclei go through.[citation needed]

This is similar to the concept of a half-life of facts coined by Samuel Arbesman, a Harvard mathematician[1] and scholar at the Kaufmann Foundation.[2]

Due to the fact that scientific knowledge is growing by a factor of ten every 50 years, this means that half of what scientists may have known about a particular subject will be wrong or obsolete in 45 years.[2]

It is not the vehicle but the driver that ultimately decides destination. Belief is a vehicle, and our will is the driver.

Because science evolves just like religion.

This is because we are evolving and the world around us evolves so the matrix of data we deal with is dynamic as is our own beings.

Very, very simple stuff, the type of simple thing that should lead one to the very logical conclusion that belief is part of our evolutionary makeup as well as our developmental makeup.

This is why America has evolved to set laws that restrict bias based on creed (belief), race or sex.

Did Jefferson believe in God?

Did he believe there was a right to believe in God?

Very hard to have any real discussions in this thread, scientific, philosophical, dogmatic or otherwise because of the limits of people's emotional wherewithal.

First and foremost many of the grower/smoker type personalities we get here is a bit disenfranchised with humanity as a whole.

If you haven't cracked the nut for yourself, what else are you going to bring to the table?

Second part is many people have a hard time separating their emotionally biased thought processes from logic ones.

If you can't remove your own bias from the equation you won't be able to contribute in a positive way either.

I am not talking about the emotion someone feels when someone else says something inappropriate to them but the emotions someone feels when their beliefs are questioned or attacked.

I kinda find it amusing because I am bipolar have some real issues and I find pot to be a great medicine for eliminating the symptoms yet I can swear many people smoke pot and become emotional fanatics, which I why I love to throw out the learn to handle your pot line because if people were doing it right they wouldn't get so fervent.

haven't used fervent in a while, feels good to have it back.

When someone who doesn't believe in God, questions the logic of God based on their exclusion to an afterlife they don't believe exists, it becomes apparent there is a logical disconnect.

How can you be excluded by something that doesn't exist? How can belief in something that doesn't exist bother you?

Do you go to the mall at Christmas and tell the kids on line that there is no Santa?

See if your atheist belief were perfected, that is if your atheist belief in your own mind were so powerful that you were confident of that reality, you would not be offended by the constructs of a false reality.

Religion doesn't bring the harms that people claim it does, that is a manufacture of delusion, as proved through studies and statistics.

There is no logical discourse in the atheist anti-religious agenda thus the lack of overlap between vocal anti-religious atheist and the atheist minds that contribute to society like physicist Brian Greene.

There is no logical justification to religious bias same as with bias based on sex or race.

Not that there is not difference, but we are adaptable enough to bridge the gap between the differences to interact in synergistic and symbiotic ways none the less.

Look at the dark side of the moon album and look at the white light, prism and rainbow.

Our brains are the prism and the white light and rainbow is the difference perception can make when looking at the same thing.

It can be united in commonality or separated based on difference. Which choose which one to modulate between.

When someone on here posts he made 200 oz's from 2 plants with 400 watts i guess your going to give them the benifit of the doubt,,
Especially when you know its impossible , but have faith he probably did it hahaha
that is plain fucking stupidity to believe it
Same thing applies for jesus or god
the smart people start adding things up and before long come to the conclusion that it was all one big fucking HOAX ..
i will beieve in anything if for one it has hard evidence to prove with out a resonable doubt that its true there is know one living from that time that dictates other wise , there are no records the god dam bible was written how many years after death John paul etc never ever even met the fucking clown yet your going to believe them over here say?? again Believer's are fucking pathetic
Christians try to turn the table making it out that we attack them on there beliefs , yet there the ones that caused it all ,
How is this if you do not believe your going to burn in hell hahaha seriously
WEird you of all people should have min common sense hey if i put my hand on that hot stove whats going to happen ????

hth..

creation = stuff that is made. (note: could actually qualify as existant)

power = corrupts absolutely. not what cosmos is about. power is "owe" in the p.r. - totality cannot be said to "owe" anything and definately doesn't care about p.r.

"the half-life of knowledge" is gradually catching onto epistemology.

for a smooth ride, the vehicle is an extension of the driver, like the jian is an extension of the wielder's qi.

Whats so hard to understand ?

The idea that inside every galaxy there's a black hole (whatever that is, probably not black, not even metaphorically) and inside every black hole there's another Universe goes to illustrate your gut bacteria analogy.

The black hole, which most people visually associate with this..

supermassive-black-hole-wallpaper-minimalist-design-7-on-inside-simple-home-design.jpg

..but by going through it, you could maybe see something like this..

Aliens.jpg

Maybe that bacteria pictures it's exit out the human body as death, but is actually its transformation and entering into another existence, or dimension.

Did God make the PC , or Phone , fuck no ..

Is it because of how you grew your last crop of marijuana that made the marijuana as good as it was or was the potential already in the seed waiting for someone to come along and provide the right environment?

In other words it could be argued that while God did not directly make the PC or phone or cure disease and famine he did it by putting within us the potential ability to do those things ourselves. We don't see proof of other life forms being able to create such things that can have major impacts on life so why were we blessed with such abilities but no other life form on our planet was?

See I think the real issue you have is not the existence of a supreme being (God) but rather the existence of God as he is depicted by the bible. Or more correctly the existence of the God as described by religion.

That can be flipped the other way though. Prove to me there is no God or that Jesus never existed. Presently there is no hard evidence that there is no God or that Jesus never existed.

That can be flipped the other way though. Prove to me there is no God or that Jesus never existed. Presently there is no hard evidence that there is no God or that Jesus never existed.

. No first century secular evidence whatsoever exists to support the actuality of Yeshua ben Yosef. In the words of Bart Ehrman: “What sorts of things do pagan authors from the time of Jesus have to say about him? Nothing. As odd as it may seem, there is no mention of Jesus at all by any of his pagan contemporaries. There are no birth records, no trial transcripts, no death certificates; there are no expressions of interest, no heated slanders, no passing references – nothing. In fact, if we broaden our field of concern to the years after his death – even if we include the entire first century of the Common Era – there is not so much as a solitary reference to Jesus in any non-Christian, non-Jewish source of any kind. I should stress that we do have a large number of documents from the time – the writings of poets, philosophers, historians, scientists, and government officials, for example, not to mention the large collection of surviving inscriptions on stone and private letters and legal documents on papyrus. In none of this vast array of surviving writings is Jesus’ name ever so much as mentioned.” (pp. 56-57)

2. The earliest New Testament writers seem ignorant of the details of Jesus’ life, which become more crystalized in later texts.Paul seems unaware of any virgin birth, for example. No wise men, no star in the east, no miracles. Historians have long puzzled over the “Silence of Paul” on the most basic biographical facts and teachings of Jesus. Paul fails to cite Jesus’ authority precisely when it would make his case. What’s more, he never calls the twelve apostles Jesus’ disciples; in fact, he never says Jesus HAD disciples –or a ministry, or did miracles, or gave teachings. He virtually refuses to disclose any other biographical detail, and the few cryptic hints he offers aren’t just vague, but contradict the gospels. The leaders of the early Christian movement in Jerusalem like Peter and James are supposedly Jesus’ own followers and family; but Paul dismisses them as nobodies and repeatedly opposes them for not being true Christians!

Liberal theologian Marcus Borg suggests that people read the books of the New Testament in chronological order to see how early Christianity unfolded. “Placing the Gospels after Paul makes it clear that as written documents they are not the source of early Christianity but its product. The Gospel — the good news — of and about Jesus existed before the Gospels. They are the products of early Christian communities several decades after Jesus’ historical life and tell us how those communities saw his significance in their historical context.”

3. Even the New Testament stories don’t claim to be first-hand accounts. We now know that the four gospels were assigned the names of the apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, not written by them. To make matter sketchier, the name designations happened sometime in second century, around 100 years or more after Christianity supposedly began. For a variety of reasons, the practice of pseudonymous writing was common at the time and many contemporary documents are “signed” by famous figures. The same is true of the New Testament epistles except for a handful of letters from Paul (6 out of 13) which are broadly thought to be genuine. But even the gospel stories don’t actually say, “I was there.” Rather, they claim the existence of other witnesses, a phenomenon familiar to anyone who has heard the phrase, my aunt knew someone who . . . .

4. The gospels, our only accounts of a historical Jesus, contradict each other. If you think you know the Jesus story pretty well, I suggest that you pause at this point to test yourself with the 20 question quiz at ExChristian.net.

The gospel of Mark is thought to be the earliest existing “life of Jesus,” and linguistic analysis suggests that Luke and Matthew both simply reworked Mark and added their own corrections and new material. But they contradict each other and, to an even greater degree contradict the much later gospel of John, because they were written with different objectives for different audiences. The incompatible Easter stories offer one example of how much the stories disagree.

5. Modern scholars who claim to have uncovered the real historical Jesus depict wildly different persons. They include a cynic philosopher, charismatic Hasid, liberal Pharisee, conservative rabbi, Zealot revolutionary, nonviolent pacifist to borrow from a much longer listassembled by Price. In his words (pp. 15-16), “The historical Jesus (if there was one) might well have been a messianic king, or a progressive Pharisee, or a Galilean shaman, or a magus, or a Hellenistic sage. But he cannot very well have been all of them at the same time.” John Dominic Crossan of the Jesus Seminar grumbles that “the stunning diversity is an academic embarrassment.”

... academics are like that... someone gets paid big ass $ to be academics and give official reports on shit. that's perception management....

.... yet some author has alienated this from mr. brunch and other readers, so that they are essentially incapable of apprehending concepts qualified with cultural or academic language.. or at least, highly disinterested...

waveguide, with all due respect, that's just nonsensical paranoia you are expressing.

you said you are a programmer, right? so lets say someone picks up a book on how to write in some form of C language, but said person finds that learning C language to program is too "cryptically academic and pompous" LOL!!!! maybe the problem is not the C language but the individual unwilling to study a bit? afraid his brain will die of exhaustion? :chin:

or someone who wants to play violin at a philharmonic, but is unwilling to learn how to read musical notation because, apparently, "the evil masons came up with such a complicated way to write music that all men cannot have egalitarian access to read Stravinsky and play it on a Stradivarius" LOL!!!

Dialectics is a necessary function of language when concepts such a Epistemology or Hermeneutics are to be discussed, just like the language of Algebra if you want to get good in Geometry, etc...

such is life, you need to acquire skills to tackle problems, and if you think the skills were "designed" by someone with the intention to make it harder for the "common man" by some "elite" that despises "egalitarianism", then you have some real issues with paranoia and you need to get over those issues soon.

peace

Why would I try to prove the existence of God or Christ you you?

That was never my purpose.

My purpose was to show that belief is an integral part of our nature and that it is born from an observation of the world around us in regards to that human nature and the culture that experiences it.

That beliefs all try to enlighten us to our own nature, that in anthropological terms they were and are a necessary component to human development.

Do ironies arise because of the difference? yes

Is our DNA different enough to justify the continuance of them in light of our social evolution? no

There are truths about our human nature that can be distilled from them all and they can all be used to make a positive/negative impact in how we approach humanity.

The biggest delusion by most humans today imho is that the differences in belief are more telling than the biological mechanism that evolved that facilitates it.

The same mechanism we all share.

The same common denominator that science (dna), religion (god) and epistemology (it will be self evidence that all men are created equal) use to actualize the reality these all assume.

The bias against the belief thus becomes a bias against humanity itself and offers no benefit.

Unless you have science that says otherwise, that would be interesting to see.
