Or that our DNA expresses itself in such a way that every so often someone comes along who is a bit more evolved than the mainstream in regards to engaging the frontal cortex?

Like I said, intellectually gifted, you say toe-may-toe, I say toe-mah-toe.

On a side note, has anyone else got the strange stretched out forum view happening? All the text is down the left hand side , can't work it out

Sounds like a resolution setting somewhere isn't set right for either the monitor or the video card.

Like I said, intellectually gifted, you say toe-may-toe, I say toe-mah-toe.

Well it is not so straight forward as that

science does not try to reconcile the human experience and thus the human condition with the humanity and the world around it.

It looks at very specific facets of our nature and the universe's nature and looks to describe it definitively using measures and metrics.

Science denies obvious causation if it cannot identify the characters of components and mechanisms involved.

Thus the importance of the implications of quantum physics and causation.

That being said, and as I said before, I believe all perspectives are relative takes on reality so all perspectives add weight to understanding it, most especially in regards to humanity.

The reason I hold steadfast to my belief is that all dogmas, philosophies and sciences all describe a reality that is controlled by our DNA.

If you now look at modern computing and the revolution to recreate autonomous conscious artificial life you will find that "beneath" (it is not really beneath but) the electric, circuitry and metal is a software or the "word" of the creator for which they all obey.

Freedom to act within the liberty of their creator.

If the science of brain scans proves our brain is designed to believe, what was the code that built it?

is everything this elegant and predicated on a foundation of order completely random or are we all part of something else's design?

as above as below? microcosm macrocosm? ying yang?

all fractals

That is I do believe there is a causation behind creation, that there is a purpose of life, based on where our DNA has us going and where we came from. It is very congruent with the expansion (evolution) of the universe.

It is a constant, random isn't so if random created the universe and was a constant (like the energy expressed by the big bang) how come we don't experience a heavier percentage of it (that is randomness)?

Well perhaps if you stopped referring to their bible as an idiot book? See if they accept that then they would be forced to conclude they are idiots. Now be honest here, just how likely are you to be open to someone's point of view if they started off by calling you an idiot?

Well then the bible reminds me of " Murder she wrote mystery's" lol

This brings up another point of contention about the bible. If the Bible was supposed to be God's word in written form why did God let it be what it is? A book created from other books in the 1400's that has been added to and taken from and rewritten in more contemporary language, etc. so many times it arouses suspicion as to it's authenticity. Why do that? Why not inscribe it much like he did with the tablets and the 10 commandments but instead use the whole side of a mountain range. It would be pretty hard to dispute that as not being the written word of God. I mean for all it is said he has done it's pretty amazing that there is little proof documented that we can see. Further there isn't even proof for some of what is documented. Forget that we can't find the ark or evidence of where it is suggested to have landed. We can't even find evidence of the Global Flood in the geologic record. Interestingly enough there is record of a smaller more localized flood that might have seemed like a global flood given the limited understanding of the entire earth at that time. Also interestingly enough the flood on record matches a story of that time period (about 2000 years before Christ). A story that bears many strikingly similar details to the story of Noah.
To my understanding correct me if i am wrong but was there not more then 10 commandments ??? and if so. they were put in stone by that so called GOD if this is suppose to be true then
Someone asked me, "Is it true you are a minister for a church and don't keep the ten commandments?" "That is right, I don't keep any of the 10 commandments." I replied. The person continued, "You mean you lie, murder and commit adultery?" "Of course not." I replied, "Although every one of the ten commandments are abolished, the law of Christ carried them forward into the New Testament". The Sabbath commandment was stated to be abolished in Col 2:14-16. This means that under the New Covenant law, 9 of the 10 commandments have been carried forward and one is abolished.
Dam no wonder christians knee jerk constantly for there sins lol

All Sabbatarians create a false and non-existent distinction within the law of Moses. They usually refer to this man-made distinction as: 1. "the 10 commandments", and 2. "the Ceremonial law".
This man made distinction is most visibly present in passages like Col 1:14 and Eph 2:15. In these passages, they say that only the "Ceremonial law" was abolished leaving the "10 commandment" law still in force for Christians today. If this is true, then we most certainly would need to keep the 7th day Sabbath.
But we will prove that the ten commandment law is clearly abolished and Christians do not keep that code of law any more. They keep a new and better law called the Law of Christ: Gal 6:2.
III. How Seventh-day Adventists teach this false distinction:

The Old Testament is a single unit of laws. Some are moral and others are ceremonial. But there is no way to establish any distinction of two laws! "The Moral Law" and "The Ceremonial Law" do not exist as separate codes of law, as Adventists were forced to invent! Reproduced below is a chart every Sabbath keeper is familiar with. Problem is that it is completely unprovable with scripture. The only place this distinction exists is in the minds of Sabbatarians.

How Sabbatarians try to establish the false distinction:

The Ten Commandments

The Ceremonial Law

Written on Stone
(Ex 31:18)

Written in a book, Book of the law
(Deut 31:24,7; Deut 31:24)

Placed in the Ark
(Deut 10:5)

Placed on side of Ark
(Deut 31:25)

Written by God's finger
(Ex 31:18, 32:16)

Written by Moses' finger
(Deut 31:9; Ex 24:4)

Spoken by God
(Ex 20:1,22)

Spoken by Moses
(Ex 24:3)

God gave

Moses gave

The Law of God, God's law, The law
(eternal)

The Law of Moses, Moses Law
(Done away)

The Moral Law

The Ceremonial Law

Breaking is sin
1 Jn 3:4

Merely prescribes offerings for sin.
Homosexuality, Drunkenness, pride, pre-marital sex are not sin? Death penalty for homosexuals: Lev 20:13!

Commandments

Statutes, Ordinances and Decrees

Still in force today?
(Ps 111:7-8)

Nailed to the cross!
(Eph 2:14)

wonder was moses GOD

over the past few weeks ive read lots of info about the fossil record and it does not support evolution imo.species appear and dissapear.thats not evolution.check out what niles eldrigde thinks about his theory

First Signs of Self-interacting Dark Matter?

Dark matter may not be completely dark after all

15 April 2015

For the first time dark matter may have been observed interacting with other dark matter in a way other than through the force of gravity. Observations of colliding galaxies made with ESO’s Very Large Telescope and the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope have picked up the first intriguing hints about the nature of this mysterious component of the Universe.

Using the MUSE instrument on ESO’s VLT in Chile, along with images from Hubble in orbit, a team of astronomers studied the simultaneous collision of four galaxies in the galaxy cluster Abell 3827. The team could trace out where the mass lies within the system and compare the distribution of the dark matter with the positions of the luminous galaxies.

Although dark matter cannot be seen, the team could deduce its location using a technique called gravitational lensing. The collision happened to take place directly in front of a much more distant, unrelated source. The mass of dark matter around the colliding galaxies severely distorted spacetime, deviating the path of light rays coming from the distant background galaxy — and distorting its image into characteristic arc shapes.

Our current understanding is that all galaxies exist inside clumps of dark matter. Without the constraining effect of dark matter’s gravity, galaxies like the Milky Way would fling themselves apart as they rotate. In order to prevent this, 85 percent of the Universe’s mass [1] must exist as dark matter, and yet its true nature remains a mystery.

In this study, the researchers observed the four colliding galaxies and found that one dark matter clump appeared to be lagging behind the galaxy it surrounds. The dark matter is currently 5000 light-years (50 000 million million kilometres) behind the galaxy — it would take NASA’s Voyager spacecraft 90 million years to travel that far.

A lag between dark matter and its associated galaxy is predicted during collisions if dark matter interacts with itself, even very slightly, through forces other than gravity [2]. Dark matter has never before been observed interacting in any way other than through the force of gravity.

Lead author Richard Massey at Durham University, explains: “We used to think that dark matter just sits around, minding its own business, except for its gravitational pull. But if dark matter were being slowed down during this collision, it could be the first evidence for rich physics in the dark sector — the hidden Universe all around us.”

The researchers note that more investigation will be needed into other effects that could also produce a lag. Similar observations of more galaxies, and computer simulations of galaxy collisions will need to be made.

Team member Liliya Williams of the University of Minnesota adds: “We know that dark matter exists because of the way that it interacts gravitationally, helping to shape the Universe, but we still know embarrassingly little about what dark matter actually is. Our observation suggests that dark matter might interact with forces other than gravity, meaning we could rule out some key theories about what dark matter might be.”

This result follows on from a recent result from the team which observed 72 collisions between galaxy clusters [3] and found that dark matter interacts very little with itself. The new work however concerns the motion of individual galaxies, rather than clusters of galaxies. Researchers say that the collision between these galaxies could have lasted longer than the collisions observed in the previous study — allowing the effects of even a tiny frictional force to build up over time and create a measurable lag [4].

Taken together, the two results bracket the behaviour of dark matter for the first time. Dark matter interacts more than this, but less than that. Massey added: “We are finally homing in on dark matter from above and below — squeezing our knowledge from two directions.”

Very Old Stars

The determination of the age of the Universe

Astronomers have used the Very Large Telescope to perform a unique measurement that paves the way for an independent determination of the age of the Universe. They measured for the first time the amount of the radioactive isotope uranium-238 in a star that was born when the Milky Way, the galaxy in which we live, was still forming. See ESO Press Release eso0106.

Like carbon-dating in archaeology, but over much longer timescales, this uranium 'clock' measures the age of the star. It shows that the star is 12.5 billion years old. Since the star cannot be older than the Universe itself, the Universe must be even older than this. This agrees with what we know from cosmology, which gives an age of the Universe of 13.7 billion years. The star, and our Galaxy, must have formed very soon after the Big Bang.

Another result pushes astronomical technology to its limits, and throws new light on the earliest times in the Milky Way. Astronomers made the first ever measurement of the beryllium content in two stars in a globular cluster. With this, they studied the early phase between the formation of the very first stars in the Milky Way and those of this stellar cluster. They found that the first generation of stars in the Milky Way galaxy must have formed soon after the end of the ~200 million-year long 'Dark Ages' that followed the Big Bang. See ESO Press Release eso0425.

billions which falls in line with what the bible says but you havent read that part yet.
lol where does it say its billions of years old ???

Age of the earth according to the Bible

The following is a summary of the biblical evidence presented on this website regarding the age of the earth. For more detailed explanations of each topic, please click on the associated link.

History of the age of the earth
As indicated earlier, the Bible does not fix the age of the earth, contrary to the claims of Answers in Genesis.1 Historically, their claim comes from the work of James Ussher, Bishop in the Church of Ireland, from 1625 to 1656. Archbishop Ussher took the genealogies of Genesis, assuming they were complete, and calculated all the years to arrive at a date for the creation of the earth on Sunday, October 23, 4004 B.C.2 Of course, even assuming the method was valid, such an exact date is not possible from the genealogies of the Bible (Ussher assumed all the years the patriarchs lived were exactly 365.25 days long and that they all died the day before their next birthday). There are a number of other assumptions implicit in the calculation. The first, and foremost, assumption is that the genealogies of Genesis are complete, from father to son throughout the entire course of human existence. The second assumption is that the Genesis creation "days" were exactly 24-hours in length. It turns out that both assumptions are false.

Incomplete genealogies
Biblical GenealogiesBiblical Genealogies
Although Archbishop Ussher assumed the Genesis genealogies were complete, it is clear from the rest of the Bible that those genealogies were telescoped (some names were left out for the sake of brevity), which is common in biblical genealogies but rare in modern genealogies. Similarly, the key genealogical terms (such as "son" and "father") have much broader meanings in Hebrew than their corresponding English words. The Hebrew word translated "son" can also have the meaning of "grandson," "great grandson," "descendant," etc.3 Likewise, the Hebrew word translated "father" can mean "grandfather," "great grandfather," "ancestor," etc.4 An accurate understanding of biblical genealogies is difficult, yet it is important for the understanding of Scripture. Having a proper understanding of biblical genealogies is a prerequisite to attempting to address the Genesis genealogies. By cross referencing the biblical genealogies with other events dated in the Bible, one can find instances where numerous genealogies were telescoped, resulting in the exclusion of numerous generations of individuals. When examining individual genealogies, one can find examples where individuals are excluded or added to the lists found in Genesis. The fact that the genealogies of the Bible are given symmetrically (where the numbers of generations in each group are identical) lends credence to the argument that they are representative of generations found throughout human history. More information about the biblical genealogies can be found in our article, The Genesis Genealogies: Are They Complete?

Length of creation days
Most people who read English translations of the Bible assume that the English words have the same meaning as the original languages in which the Bible was written (Hebrew and Aramaic for the Old Testament, and Greek for the New Testament). In fact, the original biblical languages contained many fewer words than modern English, which means that the words in those languages had more different meanings. In the Genesis 1 creation account, each "day" ends as "evening and morning 'n' day,"5 where "n" is the day's number. Although many Christians claim this makes the days exactly 24-hours in length, the Hebrew word translated "day" in English actually has three literal translations; the daylight portion of a 24-hour day, a 24-hour day, and a long, unspecified period of time (as in "day of the dinosaurs").6 The Hebrew word translated "evening" also means "sunset," "night" or "ending of the day." The Hebrew word translated "morning" also means "sunrise," "coming of light," "beginning of the day," or "dawning," with possible metaphoric usage.7 Our English expression: "The dawning of an age" serves to illustrate this point. The intended meaning of the word should be determined from the context. More information and examples can be found in our article Biblical Evidence for Long Creation Days.:moon:

again you are only referring to one part of the bible.try reading and studing the whole thing and not just once but many many times.the god thats spoken of in the bible is on a very different time schedule than humans, and you wont figure that out from a couple verses in genesis.

well with that kind of an attitude you prob wouldnt get anything outta it anyway so dont bother.instead go down to a redbox and pick up the newest film out and fill your head with that.its already full of it but maybe you can stuff some more bullshit in there

Lol just pray for the vain and angry flocks of this world.
We've got to leep the light and maintain . I wounder what these people would be like if diagnosed with a terminal illness. Or some other terrible event.(god forbid it) what would they do? Die angry at the people who aint worried ? There depression about going into non existence (there beliefs) have to into a state of bitter hate.and there vain attempts to mock the faith, and to ridicule the believers. Are just immature rants blinded by hate and try and fill there lives distractions. In an attempt to ignore the fact that they are already in nothingness.
Oh how sad it must be to be in existence and be in a state of meaningless nothingness
Cause if its going to happen, its all already done. Time is just an illusion,in regaurds to existence.
Its funny how we veiw time. Anyways much love to my bros who believe.love to those who dont. Be easy stay up
