Where do I begin? As the world becomes more populated, we have less peace, more chaos, more fighting for limited resources, more wars.
Man does enjoy violence. Notice what movies and television are the most popular? Violent ones. One violent show after another, so people must be enjoying it. Televison is MOSTLY violence.
What does our government spend the most money on? Weapons!

If violence is your attraction or focal point you will tend to see it more often. I for one haven't had cable in 15 years because I'm not attracted to being brainwashed. Violence is scary for people so this gets ones attention and gets them on the edge of their seat, 'learning their enemy'.

Human minds are fairly easy to manipulate if you have the know how. This is the essence of Hollywood, or the figurative magic wand that will be used to deceive the world. If you don't think they are practicing magic it's because you have been deceived into thinking magic is simply pulling a bunny out of a top hat. It's really about manipulation of ones mind to make them see something that's not there. The top hat bunny trick, and the like, are a simple physical manifestation of magic to show and teach children what human minds are capable of, and how easily we can be deceived. If it wasn't for Hollywood trying as hard as they can to direct peoples vision onto a small screen directly in front of them, folks might look around and notice that the world is pretty peaceful. The boob tube is a Pandora's box and filled with lies and deceit. Once you get wrapped up in the lies it will be very hard to get away.

People will pay attention to what they enjoy, and they'll also pay attention to what they're afraid of, wheher they enjoy it or not. This is a powerful defence mechanism and has served human evolution greatly. The media and Hollywood companies are business and they're goal is to attract viewers in order to make a profit. They are masters at this and they know full well that fear sells; fear, and sex, which are primal and appeal to all. Of course some will lust over the violence, but most will watch in awe, or fear. Most will lust over the sex but some will fear it. This is great viewing for anyone who is not an intellectual, or for someone that may want to shed the intellectual skin for a few hours every now and then.

Most of us have heard the phrase 'sex sells' , but not so popular and is attractive is another phrase; 'Fear sells'. The reality is, if you're spiritual or in tune, or maybe if you're a historian, you will know or 'feel' that human violence is becoming less and less. The unfortunate beginning of this is phenomenon is that this inherent violence has begun to turn itself outward, away from humans, and is now wreaking havoc on our dear Mother Earth. Everything is a learning process, and in time we'll get to a better place overall. " Baby steps to the elevator..." Bill Murray-' What about Bob'

The simple point I was trying to make is that these 'anti-scientists' knew a lot about astronomy. The flat earth was concept was an outright lie.

In learning astrology one will find it's an exceptional psychological tool as well as recreational learning tool. This goes back to what i mentioned prevoliously in regards to using both sides of the brain to increase ones mental capacity. Creativity and imagination is needed to understand it, as well as mathematics and astronomy. If you think it's based on horoscopes or fortune telling, you've been duped again. No one true future exists for anyone.
Do you know that most Kings, rulers, Presidents, etc have had astrologers to help guide them on their journeys? These are not just intelligent people, they are powerful in many ways. Why would rulers of nations be bothered by this if they thought it was bologna?
Did you know the murder rate increases during the summer heat?
Are you aware of the moon changing the tides on a daily basis? Why would you think all of the other beings in the solar system and cosmos in general is 'out of service'? Are you saying only the power of the sun, moon, and earth are available to us as learning tools during our stay? I won't pretend to know much about these things because I haven't put in enough time, but it's clear that outside entities can and do effect the earth. What if a planet or two in our solar system is displaced? Would earth or humans continue as we know it? No, we would be dead. These planetary beings effect us in a lot of ways. The trick is learning about how. This is why you have NASA watching solar flares and such. So we can learn about how we are effected.

Wow your first paragraph is amazing i guess Women getting raped are just looking for it , school bullying again that kid was just looking for it
So you choose not to have cable is really irrelevant cause 98 percent do have it And fact remains violence is on it

Were living in peaceful times lol amount of school shootings from kids is mind baffling where do you think they came up with this idea

Rapes recorded by police in England and Wales are now at their highest ever level, official figures reveal.
Office for National Statistics figures also showed violent crime recorded by the police has jumped by 11 per cent.
More than 22,100 rapes were recorded, a 29 per cent rise, to reach highest ever levels among nearly 68,000 sexual offences.
The figures showed a huge surge in the number of rapes involving a knife or sharp instrument - a 48 per cent increase to 294 offences

violent crimes him >>>> How many times do you here wow this is such a quiet place that could never happen here and it does

but the big kicker is more police killings
you wanna curb violence then forget about re hab you get caught steeling , rape even the smallest crime you can think off being it a 10 year old kid stealing candy you put them to sleep
for ever
0 tolerance this alone will control some population as well impose one serious way of dealing with the problem , no second - or 3rd chance 0
not only will this save you as a citizen it will clean up the stupid portion of the human gene pool its a win win save on taxes etc

The Corrugated Galaxy—Milky Way May Be Much Larger Than Previously Estimated

March 11, 2015
By Mary L. Martialay

The Milky Way galaxy is at least 50 percent larger than is commonly estimated, according to new findings that reveal that the galactic disk is contoured into several concentric ripples. The research, conducted by an international team led by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Professor Heidi Jo Newberg, revisits astronomical data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey which, in 2002, established the presence of a bulging ring of stars beyond the known plane of the Milky Way.

“In essence, what we found is that the disk of the Milky Way isn’t just a disk of stars in a flat plane—it’s corrugated,” said Heidi Newberg, professor of physics, applied physics, and astronomy in the Rensselaer School of Science. “As it radiates outward from the sun, we see at least four ripples in the disk of the Milky Way. While we can only look at part of the galaxy with this data, we assume that this pattern is going to be found throughout the disk.”

Importantly, the findings show that the features previously identified as rings are actually part of the galactic disk, extending the known width of the Milky Way from 100,000 light years across to 150,000 light years, said Yan Xu, a scientist at the National Astronomical Observatories of China (which is part of the Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing), former visiting scientist at Rensselaer, and lead author of the paper.

“Going into the research, astronomers had observed that the number of Milky Way stars diminishes rapidly about 50,000 light years from the center of the galaxy, and then a ring of stars appears at about 60,000 light years from the center,” said Xu. “What we see now is that this apparent ring is actually a ripple in the disk. And it may well be that there are more ripples further out which we have not yet seen.”

The research, funded in part by the National Science Foundation and titled “Rings and Radial Waves in the Disk of the Milky Way,” was published today in the Astrophysical Journal. Newberg, Xu, and their collaborators used data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) to show an oscillating asymmetry in the main sequence star counts on either side of the galactic plane, starting from the sun and looking outward from the galactic center. In other words, when we look outward from the sun, the mid-plane of the disk is perturbed up, then down, then up, and then down again.

“Extending our knowledge of our galaxy’s structure is fundamentally important,” said Glen Langston, NSF program manager. “The NSF is proud to support their effort to map the shape of our galaxy beyond previously unknown limits.”

The new research builds upon a 2002 finding in which Newberg established the existence of the “Monoceros Ring,” an “over-density” of stars at the outer edges of the galaxy that bulges above the galactic plane. At the time, Newberg noticed evidence of another over-density of stars, between the Monoceros Ring and the sun, but was unable to investigate further. With more data available from the SDSS, researchers recently returned to the mystery.

“I wanted to figure out what that other over-density was,” Newberg said. “These stars had previously been considered disk stars, but the stars don’t match the density distribution you would expect for disk stars, so I thought ‘well, maybe this could be another ring, or a highly disrupted dwarf galaxy.”

When they revisited the data, they found four anomalies: one north of the galactic plane at 2 kilo-parsecs (kpc) from the sun, one south of the plane at 4-6 kpc, a third to the north at 8-10 kpc, and evidence of a fourth to the south 12-16 kpc from the sun. The Monoceros Ring is associated with the third ripple. The researchers further found that the oscillations appear to line up with the locations of the galaxy’s spiral arms. Newberg said the findings support other recent research, including a theoretical finding that a dwarf galaxy or dark matter lump passing through the Milky Way would produce a similar rippling effect. In fact, the ripples might ultimately be used to measure the lumpiness of dark matter in our galaxy.

“It’s very similar to what would happen if you throw a pebble into still water – the waves will radiate out from the point of impact,” said Newberg. “If a dwarf galaxy goes through the disk, it would gravitationally pull the disk up as it comes in, and pull the disk down as it goes through, and this will set up a wave pattern that propagates outward. If you view this in the context of other research that’s emerged in the past two to three years, you start to see a picture is forming.”

The research was funded by the NSF, as well as the Chinese National Science Foundation and the National Basic Research Program of China.

Newberg currently researches the structure and evolution of our own galaxy, using stars as tracers of the galactic halo and disks. These stars in turn are used to trace the density distribution of dark matter in the Milky Way. She has been a participant of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and is currently head of participants in LAMOST U.S., a partnership allowing U.S. astronomers to take part in a survey of more than 7 million stars by the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope in China (LAMOST).

Most women don't get raped. Most kids don't get bullied in school. How many schools are in the world? And how many have been shot up? How often?

Of course these things happen. There are many 'evil' forces at play here on this planet and there are billions of people. Your point is akin to a beautiful scoolgirl staring into a mirror crying about the zit on her forehead. Not caring about or noticing that she looks amazing, and every boy in the school wants to date her, most not focusing on, or even noticing this tiny pimple. If you look around, you'll notice things aren't so bad. Theres not much to be afraid of. Yes there are wars, but again billions of people, most of which will never see them. The things you mention are terrible but they are sensationalized to the maximum extent. I just saw a recent article about JonBenet Ramsay, the little girl that died like 15 years ago. That's a lot of coverage for one specific incident if you ask me.

There's also a positive force of love that is much stronger and much more noticeable than the opposing force. This is the direction humanity is headed in now, but we won't be forever. Enjoy it, put your feet up and relax. Unless of course people are shooting at you. Then run for cover. Things are great and wonderful 'overall' :)

Human genome includes 'foreign' genes not from our ancestors

Many animals, including humans, acquired essential ‘foreign’ genes from microorganisms co-habiting their environment in ancient times, according to research published in the open access journal Genome Biology. The study challenges the conventional view that animal evolution relies solely on genes passed down through ancestral lines and suggests that, at least in some lineages, the process is still ongoing.

We may need to re-evaluate how we think about evolution
Alastair Crisp

The transfer of genes between organisms living in the same environment is known as horizontal gene transfer. It is well known in single-celled organisms and thought to be an important process that explains how quickly bacteria evolve resistance to antibiotics, for example.

Horizontal gene transfer is also thought to play an important role in the evolution of some animals, including nematode worms, which have acquired genes from microorganisms and plants, and some beetles that gained bacterial genes to produce enzymes for digesting coffee berries. However, the idea that horizontal gene transfer occurs in more complex animals, such as humans has been widely debated and contested.

Lead author Alastair Crisp from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge said: “This is the first study to show how widely horizontal gene transfer occurs in animals, including humans, giving rise to tens or hundreds of active 'foreign' genes. Surprisingly, far from being a rare occurrence, it appears that this has contributed to the evolution of many, perhaps all, animals and that the process is ongoing. We may need to re-evaluate how we think about evolution.”

The researchers studied the genomes of 12 species of fruit fly, four species of nematode worm, and ten species of primate, including humans. They calculated how well each of their genes aligns to similar genes in other species to estimate how likely they were to be foreign in origin. By comparing with other groups of species, they were able to estimate how long ago the genes were likely to have been acquired.

In humans, they confirmed 17 previously-reported genes acquired from horizontal gene transfer, and identified 128 additional foreign genes in the human genome that have not previously been reported. A number of genes, including the ABO gene, which determines an individual’s blood group, were also confirmed as having been acquired by vertebrates through horizontal gene transfer. The majority of the genes were related to enzymes involved in metabolism.

In humans, some of the genes were involved in lipid metabolism, including the breakdown of fatty acids and the formation of glycolipids. Others were involved in immune responses, including the inflammatory response, immune cell signalling, and antimicrobial responses, while further gene categories include amino-acid metabolism, protein modification and antioxidant activities.

The team identified the likely class of organisms from which the transferred genes came. Bacteria and protists, another class of microorganisms, were the most common donors in all species studied. They also identified horizontal gene transfer from viruses, which was responsible for up to 50 more foreign genes in primates.

Some genes were identified as having originated from fungi. This explains why some previous studies, which only focused on bacteria as the source of horizontal gene transfer, originally rejected the idea that these genes were ‘foreign’ in origin.

The majority of horizontal gene transfer in primates was found to be ancient, occurring sometime between the common ancestor of Chordata and the common ancestor of the primates.

The authors say that their analysis probably underestimates the true extent of horizontal gene transfer in animals and that direct transfer between complex multicellular organisms is also plausible, and already known in some host-parasite relationships.

The study also has potential impacts on genome sequencing more generally. Genome projects frequently remove bacterial sequences from results on the assumption that they are contamination.

“It’s important to screen for contamination when we’re doing genome sequencing, but our study shows that we shouldn’t ignore the potential for bacterial sequences being a genuine part of an animal’s genome originating from horizontal gene transfer,” adds Dr Chiara Boschetti from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

The research was supported by the European Research Council.

...but that's another topic...

Physics knows four forces. However, the 20th century was convinced that one of the them the electric force plays no macroscopic role in the Universe. For example, positively charged atoms exist, but positively charged stars should not exist.

This strong belief was not the result of 100 symposiums held yearly on the "Non-electric Universe". It was the result of a simple idea: the electric force is too strong to act. In the case of two free protons, a 1036 times higher repulsion than attraction comes into existence (in vacuum). Although matter of the Universe everywhere consists of huge positive and negative charges, the incredible strength of the electric force seems to inhibit the macroscopic separation of these charges. Therefore, the theoretical infinite radius of the electric force seemed to be as superfluous as the fifth leg of an antelope. An improbable exception should be easily observed in this alleged 'neutral Universe'. For example, only 0.003 gram of free protons (in overbalance) should blow up the Sun, because their electrostatic repulsion would be by 50% stronger than the huge gravity of the 2·1033 gram mass of the Sun. 1 µgram of free protons cannot destroy the Sun, but they should deform the Sun to a big egg if they were distributed unevenly! The strengh of the electric is force far beyond our imanigation. Even microscopic charges should produce such macroscopic results. New measurements show that macroscopic electric charges have cosmological results e.g. galaxies which do not move according to the gravity-law or the accelerated expansion of the Universe. Such cosmological results are explained with mysterious dark matter or with mysterious dark energy. Also the fact is known that the Sun emits not only 1 µgram but also billions of tons of charged matter which stopped electric plants in Canada and Sweden in 1989 March. Therefore, something is wrong in this old basic idea.

A loop on the sun

Not only the strength but also the direction of the electric force should easily reveal it, if the charges are not neutralized. Gravity can only attract, but the electric force can also repulse. Therefore, a simple method to detect this separation of the electric charges in the Universe is the search for this repulsion. The 1 microgram free protons should produce at least an electrostatic solar geyser which was not found in the time between Galilee and Hale. However, these geysers were observed by G.E.Hale in 1892 with his spectro-heliograph. These prominences were not hot and therefore not round clouds but filaments, clearly of electric origin due to their pinch effect and ions. Hale´s invention should be the start of the electric astronomy. Yes, the genial inventor Hale was convinced that the electric charge of the Sun produces the magnetic field of the sunspots. In 1941, R.S. Richardson tested again the electric explanation of Hale but the supposition of a constant electric charge of the Sun led to contradictions.

Soon, the solar dynamo was introduced to explain everything. But this dynamo itself remained a mystery. Its site, voltage, current, power, dimensions, electric circuit could not be shown. SOHO was constructed to find it, but neither the dynamo, nor its alleged products: the deep, long magnetic tubes could be found. Also the heating of the corona, the emission of the wind remained intriguing mysteries. Many astronomers e.g. Bachcall (1997), Haxton (1995), Hoeksema (1994), Lang (1995), Longair (1994), Phillips (1992 ) in many hundred pages pointed out these and other hundreds of contradictions but without any hope of a solution. However, my book The Electric Universe shows also the solution. No new measurements (of the e.g. strings), no new physics of WIMPs or neutrinos, only two facts in addition must be taken into account:
•the electron has a 1836 times smaller mass than the proton and
•all photons move in a plasma along a very long zigzag course.

Both facts are well known since a century. But, consequently, the electrons have 43 times higher velocity than the protons in the same temperature and, therefore, much more electrons than protons leave the solar core. Therefore, the solar core is continually charged positively. Simply, the fusion-energy separates the electric charges via its produced temperature-gradient.

Why did the Sun not explode electrostatically when the first 0.003 gram of free protons remained alone without their electrons in the solar core ? As long as the solar core is a plasma, all of its photons have a zigzag course of a length of light-years in it. This ineffectivity of the photons is valid not only in the case of the photons which carry out the heat radiation of the solar core (this process is well known) but, obviously, also in the case of those photons, which carry out the electrostatic positive field of the free core-protons. One of these free protons accepts the photons of the repulsion from the other free protons along zigzag courses in the lengths of light-years, therefore very weakly. The plasma obeys all gas-laws, but it is no gas. It is not transparent for the heat radiation and electric force which are carried by the same photons.

However, the Sun will explode electrostatically, in a cold way, when its positive core (as a white dwarf) will be colder than about 7 000 K, when the ion-electron pairs recombine and many ions remain without electron-pair. The photons suddenly fly along short and straight lines in a gas and carry the strong electrostatic repulsion of one ion to other ions ! This will be a gamma ray burst. This is why a red section of the white dwarfs is totally missing in the Herzsprung-Russel diagram! Without this electrostatic explosion, the number of the cold (therefore red) white dwarfs should be even much higher than the hot (therefore blue and white) white dwarfs due to their slower cool down

. Our universe! every spot is an galaxy!

My astronomy book explains a very conspicuous form of matter: the various filaments of the Universe. All filaments must be made by a force of infinite radius, not by nuclear forces. It cannot be gravity, therefore, it must be the electric force which creates sparks, lightnings, spiculae, filaments of the penumbra, chromosphere, corona, flares, coronal mass ejections, filaments of supernova remnants, jets of young stars and radiogalaxies, many filaments of superclusters, e.g. the Aquarius filament of 23 superclusters in the length of about 1 gigalightyear! The motion of the charged matter is caused by electrostatic repulsion and/or attraction. This motion produces also the observed exact circular cross sections of all these filaments via pinch effect. Is it not beautiful that gravity makes spheres and the electric force filaments, both of circular cross sections independently of their very varying sizes? The whole Universe mainly consists of filaments and big voids. Therefore, the infinite radius of the electric force is not superfluous! It shapes not only sparks but also the largest bodies of the Universe.

No professional astronomer could find this new astronomy because they learned (as I) that a thermoelement needs two wires. It was my luck to find a new thermoelement-law which shows that the two thermowires are two generators ! After this new law (in 1978), I needed 16 years to discover that conducting stars function similar to a thermowire, charging the hot parts positively and the cold parts negatively, without any motion, simply by heat-difference. No problem is the Lenz law which would stop the solar rotation via inducted currents. The Electric Universe is fantastical beautiful in its elegant simplicity, already in its first description. However, the 20th century remains for ever the century of astronomical mysteries because of the unleveled effects of the electric force.

We were talking about violence on TV/films, not the internet. I'm aware of porn on the internet. However, the main product of the major television networks is violence. Just look at the TV listings every night. The majority of shows are violent, with comedy thrown in here and there, but violence is far and away the largest product. Look at the subculture or "popular" culture of young people today. Gangsta rap. Hyper violence in music, videos, films, acted out on the streets by the weak minded, even females. Females are into fighting, gang banging, stabbings, etc. That never, ever happened when I was young. Now it's commonplace. I had to mace a huge guy in the street last week, who was menacing/threatening me. He was a white guy, but was talking in that gangsta rap lingo, as if he were black and from the hood. "Niggha" this, "niggha" that. "Motherfucker" this, "motherfucker" that. When I laughed at something stupid he said, he said he was going to "whack me upside my head". When I laughed at that, he came at me and got maced. Violence is a product that is a cancer being sold by the media, and of course, the main business of our country is selling weapons. It's the military industrial complex gone awry, as warned about by President Eisenhower.

if the world is so violent and were all responsible that doesnt make evolution look very good.it doesnt make religion look as bad, depending on which one your looking at.i love how people think that 1000 years ago or more they thought the earth was flat.in the bible is says the earth is a sphere and hanging on nothing.the greeks didnt preach the flat earth thing.all the exploers who traveled to mongol lands during the golden hordes reign believed it was round.its well documented that the earth was round.this flat thing was taught in our schools to make us look like we were part of the age of discovery.

its mostly american films and culture that promotes violence.its done through tv and video games at a young age, then comes the ultra competitive school sports, after that go join the military and kill some arabs.i dont see the same culture of hate in other countries.the ghettos are just the new form of slavery for the black man.if there in the ghetto they have to sell drugs to survive the lady has some kids dad gets popped for dealing and ends up in the slammer.now big brother got him as a slave .next mom cant pay the bills so she has to live of the state or government to feed her and kids and now they got her and the kids as a slave

in other news the country of bhutan is going to be the first country in the world to have all organic farms in their country.no more chemical and gmo food there!whos evolving faster!!??
