But the bottom line is What does spiritual mean anyway? How can someone be complacent about something non-existent like unicorns and hobbits?
But to be as rich as them , you'd have to be extremely intelligent. And if people who are extremely intelligent do not believe in fanciful deities from books written thousands of years ago ... it really says something.

and what is it that you are right about?

let's revisit the mite theory! doesn't really matter who's behind the nutrients or pesticides, or how long ago they started the grow. how do help keep the grow going?

Hmm now that is the million dollar question isn't it, the first step would be for us humans to get our shit together but realistically that'll never happen, it seems like we are destined to destroy ourselves unfortunately.

sure would love to first of all look at your pc and thank Bill gates who is one of the richest athiests on earth and a quote from BG
Quote:Just in terms of allocation of time resources, religion is not very efficient. There’s a lot more I could be doing on a Sunday morning.

then lets look at the next person who has the power to change everyone's life in a split second
Warren buffet
Quote: “He did not subscribe to his family’s religion. Even at a young age he was too mathematical, too logical, to make the leap of faith. He adopted his father’s ethical underpinnings, but not his belief in an unseen divinity.” –from Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist

so with that said
I believe in people, I believe in humans, I believe in a car, but I don’t believe something I can’t have absolutely no evidence of for millennia. And it’s funny — people think analysis or psychiatry is mad, and THEY go to CHURCH…

who cares?

your showing me examples of money enriched gentlemen.

do you really think money is the path to happiness? havent you read any books or seen any movies? when has that ever seemed to have been true? i believe there are many statistics out there showing us the happy medium is 'enough' money to not have to worry, but anything more than that results in less happiness.

why not give us examples of happy family-men who give up riches for charitable work or something of the likes.

warren buffet, lol, who gives a fuck about warren buffet..

you still havent responded to calling Nikola Tesla an idiot. how to you justify that one?

But to be as rich as them , you'd have to be extremely intelligent. And if people who are extremely intelligent do not believe in fanciful deities from books written thousands of years ago ... it really says something.

Oh man, this idiot really thinks there are no Christians who are rich and self made millionaires....

you just revealed the level of your stupidity Dr. you think religious people are too stupid to make money..

lol what a dip.

Spirituality is a process of personal transformation, either in accordance with traditional religious ideals, or, increasingly, oriented on subjective experience and psychological growth independently of any specific religious context. In a more general sense, it may refer to almost any kind of meaningful activity or blissful experience. There is no single, widely-agreed definition for the concept.

Who believes in unicorns?

I dont have to believe in unicorns to have spiritual guidance from a book.

learning to "agree to disagree" would be a good start. but what's the point of having an opinion if i can't make someone else agree with it too? haha

exactly.

i respect Dr's choice of belief, and i didnt come in here to change anyones mind.

but Dr has a big problem with religion. he just cant accept people who have a faith in something spiritual even if it results in a more fruitful and positive life for that person.

Dr, i still love you brother and hope you become more open minded to allowing people to have and live their own non-violent/peaceful philosophies without having to attempt to change them through rude behavior.

Religion is a business, and tax free at that! A real con game. You only have to look at these super rich televangelists and the suckers who support them to realize this.

"money in real terms is freedom & fulfillment" I'm almost 60 years old & I don't believe I have ever read anything that made me feel so sorry for someone in my entire life.

finally, we get down to it.

i understand the concept of money, very well.

but this is where our path split. the value you and i put on money is different.

i understand where your coming from. and it makes sense that you preach what you preach.

i am pleased you are blessed with money, i am as well, but because of its nature it always seeks to turn humans into sharks, yes? this is your philosophy as it is mosts. we worship money in this day and age, nothing new really though right?

yes there is a problem with business: ethics. they dont exist. the dollar is the bottom line. anything moral would not result in the shareholders best interest so if legal acceptable, it is what it is, you execute the decision.

am i a businessman? maybe we all are here to an extent. do i wish to partake in the rat race to the top? not anymore, financial success was only a great thing to experience because i was able to realize how worthless excessive money is. and getting rich is fine, but the problem lies with the crabs in the bucket. you likely have to fuck someone over to get rich, sad but true. if you dont, lucky you.

see? we figured it out. i dont think we need to argue anymore. we want different things, and we see things differently. i wish you the best of luck on your endeavors.

I'm with ya, alot more to life than money
ask the 47 million americans on food stamps how there is more then life then money ??? but hey you always here that more to life then money right ??? simple way to avoid the subject

Money is about love and relationships,” “It has a wonderful power to bring people together as well as tear them apart. You can’t escape money. If you run from it, it will chase you and catch you. If we don’t understand our relationship to money in this culture, then I think we’re doomed. If you don’t know how you are toward money and really understand that relationship, you simply don’t know yourself. Period.
Money truly can’t buy happiness, especially if you’re unhappy to begin with. “If you are worrying about vegetables now, you’ll be worrying about yachts then.
You’re a worrier. It’s in you, not the money. Life, except for the obvious physical needs, is not so much defined by the external situation as by the inner one. Having money won’t change your internal makeup. If you’re an anxious sonofabitch without money, you’re going to be an anxious sonofabitch with a lot of money.”

Being rich does not make you smart — especially about things other than money. “I met a guy who worked his way up from zero to a half-billion dollars. I asked him, ‘What was the most surprising thing you discovered when you got rich?’ He said, ‘Everybody asks my opinion about things because they think I know something. All I really know is how to make a lot of money.’ See, this guy wasn’t fooled by his money. That’s the key.
Being rich does not automatically lead to a rich life. “There is a difference between money and success. To be totally engaged with all my functions, all my faculties, all my capacities in life — to me that would be success. I grew up around the Yiddish language, and in Yiddish there are about 1,000 words that mean “fool.” There’s only one word that means an authentic human being: mensch. My grandmother would say, “You’ve got to be a mensch,” and that has to do with what we used to call character. To be successful means to have developed character… You should be looking for the joy, the struggle, and the challenge of work. What you bring forth from your own guts and heart. The happiness of hard work.

It’s easy to pass judgment from afar on the misdeeds and missteps of wealthy people in the news. But look in the mirror. What’s your relationship with the pursuit of wealth? How do you think about money and the meaning of life?

^^ I never said money isn't important I've been homeless and hungry before. And I'm very grateful for where I am in life now. all I'm saying is having money isn't the most important thing in life.
